The regular burgers are two patties and a little too heavy for my taste. The fries are delicious. Again, I recommend getting the little order, which really is enough for two people to share. They basically give you a bag full of fries. The fries are made with peanut oil and you can taste the difference- in a good way. While we were here, someone came over and asked how everything was. Being a burger lover, I need to know where to get a decent burger on the island. Honestly, I was a little disappointed. They charged about $8 for a "LBC" - little bacon cheeseburger. I added all my toppings, and the cashier was sort of rude when I double checked to make sure they were cooked well done, stating "Everyone asks me that - there's a sign right there!" (pointing upward - and the sign wasn't even that big). Burger was OK, nothing to brag about. Five Guys confused me at first; I had made an order online and wasn't sure how to pick it up. You walk in and follow the piles of potatoes to the first cashier; this is where you order. Follow further to where they make the burgers, right in front of you, and they'll call out your order number (let them know if you order online). Behind you is an amazing soda machine, with favors of sodas you never dreamt of; my wife had vanilla Barq's and I had grape Sprite (for novelty; it was only okay). I had two Little Burgers, one with some accoutrements and a more plain burger with ketchup. My first burger had grilled mushrooms and A1 steak sauce, and one bite made me fall in love. The burger was less rare than I usually like, on account of health issues, but was juicy and so flavorful. The mushrooms were delicious and the A1 was a great change of pace from the usual. The other burger was plain, but nowhere near boring; hands down the best burger I've had in any fast food place, and better than many diners I've visited. Their fries deserve their own respect; the Cajun fries have a good amount of kick, but their regular fries are phenomenal. I got an order of each and had heaps and heaps of extra fries in the bag. Thanks guys! The only thing keeping them from a perfect rating is a slight lack of variety: man, milkshakes dude. They go perfect with burgers. Come on. I could go for onion rings, too. Went with my girlfriend to have dinner there since i was staying at my dads house We waited nearly 12 minutes for our food...The place was not even that busy so there was no excuse we had to wait as long as we did... The dining area had tables that needed to be cleaned and the employees did not start cleaning in this area until after we were finished eating... I'm sorry I know 5 guys is beloved and I just think it's greasy garbage. I have always found it so expensive for fast food burgers n fries. The food does not reflect on the food staff. They are constantly working to clean tables and restock the toppings bar. I find all the side from the fancy coke machine to be flat also. I would never ever come here if not for my X dragging me who would eat it everyday of the week and yet throw a hissy fit since it would be cold and soggy by the time we got home with the food. I like the topping concept yet the bacon was burned every time. The burgers are so greasy since they grease the grills with fatty burger meat (seriously not oil they use burger fat to greasy the grills. The bread disintegrates it's a mess. The hot dog I tried out since it's less messy and it has a terrible taste. The fries are good but it's always a mystery how many you'll receive sometimes they fill the entire bag to the brim and sometimes really shortchange you. The only saving grace is the barrels of peanuts. I eventually gave into just making a meal outta so Fries and peanuts. We would pack to paper bags full and they never blinked which I appreciate. So ultimately I don't mind a juicy burger but when it's so greasy everything slides off the burger and the bread disintegrates from the moisture I just can't get on board with that. read more

Amazing, I went there opening day. The line was like an amusement park line but for good reason. The line moved pretty quick for how big the line was. Amazing burgers... Cajun fries... And 1 awesome touch screen coke machine.. Strawberry sprite, raspberry coke, it does what you want. Since opening the line has improved and is "normalizing" now. Ordering online is cool, skip the line. They don't make the fries till you report in so they are fresh, but you don't wait long after reporting. Staff very nice. The only thing I can say bad is its a little pricey ($15ish) for just me but well worth it. A large fry will feed 2 people and the burgers are what other burger joints would probably call a double. So you get your money's worth. Eat there and enjoy. read more

Five guys is ok. There's not much to write about. The burgers are juicy but a juicey charbroiled/grilled burger is the way to get my attention and $$$. Otherwise it's overpriced. I will say the girl behind the counter was great she helped my girlfriend out beyond what was necessary. Excellent customer service on her behalf. From re-cooking her food for cross contaminating pork products w/ the veggie burger. No complaints and was done on her own. She didn't hide it or take a chance serving it to her. The soda machine is great. The best dispenser I've seen. Free peanuts doesn't mean prices can be equated to make you think there free. All in all it's an ok place. read more

I love Five Guys and use to love coming to this particular location but it seems like every time there's new workers, the service gets worse. Before service use to be great and the people working there were fast, attentive and really filled up the bag with a lot of fries like how its suppose to be but the last few times of visiting, the service was slow, the burgers weren't numbered like how its suppose to be and was difficult to tell who's burger was who and they were very skimpy on the fries. I think they need to really train their workers properly so service can be better like how it use to! read more

This place has 1 of the best greasy burgers around. It has finally come to staten island after being in the other boros for a long time. The plus is that the food is awesome, the burgers are great and the fries are excellent. They also have free peanuts while you wait forever for your order. The negative side is the place is mobbed, long lines and slow service. Average wait time is about 10 to 15 minutes for your order to be ready. There is ample parking,so you probably have to drive around a few minutes to find a spot. overall I love this place and happy it has come to staten island. read more

I will start with the service, the servers are always kind and patient. I am a very picky person so I like my food to be exactly how I like it which usually causes an issue where ever I go. Even though my cheeseburger order is probably simpler than most my orders, I have never had an issue with them making any mistake. The actual taste of the food is great. The burgers are juicy and always cooked just right. The fries are awesome and even better with the malt vinegar. And for those that enjoy it, they have free peanuts! The decor of the place is ehh. Let me start by saying generally, I love Five Guys. I frequent the one in Woodbridge, NJ so I was psyched when this one on Staten Island opened. What a letdown. The burger was extremely greasy and falling apart. The fries, which are the main reason why I go to Five Guys, were extremely undercooked and greasy. To top it off, the cup of large fries was filled to the top with only four fries spilling over! Now if you know Five Guys, you are aware that it is a tradition to fill the cup and then they splash a huge pile of fries into the bag as well. Obviously they didn't get the memo on Staten Island! Kind of odd considering there looked like tons ogf regional managers watching the staffs every move. Hopefully this is just a case of growing pains as it's only been in operation for a week but this is a terrible start. If you really want to experience a good Five Guys head over to the Woodbridge Town Center and come back to this one in a month to see if they thrive... or not. And not sure what the other reviewer is talking about but "ample parking" is a stretch. I don't know what all the fuss is about, and why there are lots of them around the city. It's a greasy burger, plain and simple. People you can make one yourself at home by throwing a slab of fatty chop meat in a pan. The only difference here though is that it will cost almost $20 for a burger fries and soda. Yes they have small burgers and fries, but what adult eats a little burger and little order of fries unless you have dinner plans later on. I think it's crazy that you have to order fries separately when most times fries come with a burger. The soda costs $2.79 so you are actually paying for that second refill if you drink it or not. That's too much for a soda in a fast food place. Yes the food is tasty but then again when isn't a greasy hamburger and fries tasty when you cover it with salt and ketchup?! Don't get me wrong the place does have good burgers but it sure aint worth the price! Very pricey for a burger and everything else is seperate from the fries to the soda and you gotta order your sides on it like a basic lettuce and tomatoes. There is no doubt that the burgers here are a cut above all the fast food places at the corner of every block on Staten Island. They say that the burgers are medium, but they are thin pattys cooked well done, which is just not right for a quality burger, I do not care what the company rule is! I burger is a ground up steak. If a steak place lets you order your steak the way you enjoy it, likewise a high-end burger place should allow you to as well! The army of cooks are very on top of things & the lines move very quickly. I love the soda machine, as I drink diet soda & can create a diet soda anyway that I feel like, which is a big pull for me. This place just needs to allow you to order to the degree od wellness that you love, expand the menu a bit, & add the combos & coupons, & they will be around a long time, otherwise, the crowds will start, at these prices & limited item selections, to die down after the shine wears off the apple. They are better, by the way, than the new copy place, Standard Burgers, that opened up on Hylan Blvd. They are even more money & have smaller portions & selection than even Five Guys, so one should stick with 5-Guys, as they at least know how to operate & serve the masses. read more

What a fast food burger that is actually...good. Yes, no more will I trek to the city for a "Good Burger," there's a fast food joint on par with it. Yeah, you're going to have to wait a bit for your burger, but that's cause they are making it right on the grill for you, along with everyone else's. The fries are good, but the Cajun fries are better. Also they have the wonderful coke machine that I first used in a movie theater in the city. Can you say cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper or Raspberry Coke. I'm usually not one to like fast food burgers, with the exception of two others, Sonic and Good Burger, but I think I'm about to become addicted to 5 Guys juicy cheesy goodness. I cant really review the food here but I can review the restaurant. I drove there two nights ago to get dinner for the family. Before leaving I checked online at the five guys website and saw that they were open. When my daughter and I got there we were met by a sign on the door stating that they had closed early due to inclement weather.... There was literally 1/4 inch on the ground but they decided to close without warning. I mean there are times that the peanut shells accumulate more than that on their floors. This is NY, 1/4 inch is insignificant and at the very least they should have updated their web site so I didnt waste 45 minutes driving across the island. I chose 2 stars instead of one just because the 5 guys in Bayridge and the one near AC are great. read more
