I go to this location maybe 10x a year. I've noticed it was dirty my last visit but figured I caught it at the wrong moment. I went in yesterday, a very hot humid day, and the A/C wasn't working so we decided to get our food to go. Then as we went towards the back where you pick up we noticed a strong odor of sewage. Not an unclean bathroom, but an open sewer smell. It got way worse when someone (manager?) opened the door to the storage room, came out, and went back in. I asked one of the staff members if they were aware of the smell and yes, they were. "They called someone" was her response. Then my wife asked to use the bathroom and the same staff member warned her there was sewage all over the floor. This bathroom was open and accessible to customers, by the way. With excrement all over the floor. (My wife declined.) I should add there was garbage on the floors and many of the tables were dirty. We were two of four customers for the time we were there, despite it being lunch time on a Sunday. I know you're wondering why we didn't cancel our order and get a refund but we were hot and very hungry, coming off a busy morning of running errands. We took our food, thought about it and discussed it, and then threw it out and went to Shake Shack at the mall. (Clean, air conditioned, and actually a bit cheaper, fwiw.) From there I subsequently called the number they had on the wall "to speak to the manager on duty," but got their generic customer service line instead. I told the CS rep about my experience and he was very friendly but didn't seem particularly alarmed. Which tells me this issue is not local but systemic, mainly that no one is bothered to GAF even when customer safety is on the line. Moral of the story is that I think I'm done with Five Guys for a while. read more

Absolutely horrible experience at Five Guys while picking up an Uber Eats order. I overheard employees, including a manager named Anthony Garcia, making loud sexist, racist, and derogatory comments with each other. They were openly talking about the types of girls they like "fucking" and saying things loudly enough for customers and staff to hear. There were female employees and female guests around who visibly looked uncomfortable. It created a very hostile and unprofessional environment, especially for a restaurant where customers should feel comfortable. I did not get the names of the other employees involved, but the behavior was unacceptable. Definitely will not be returning. Staff and management seriously need professionalism training and accountability. I also attached a short audio recording where you can briefly hear workers making comments about Arab and Asian girls. I was only able to catch a few seconds, but it gives an idea of the type of conversation that was happening openly in the restaurant. read more

This review is for whoever owns this location. You should be ashamed of yourself for what you let happen to a great product. Especially being the only Five Guys on Staten Island. If I had my way I could eat at Five Guys every night. I can honestly say I will not return to this location until there are major changes. Last night I went in for dinner and could not believe my eyes. The place was absolutely filthy. Everywhere you looked there was dirt and garbage. Absolutely disgusting. I was so hungry I tried to ignore the filth and concentrate on getting my meal. That took forever because the workers were fooling around the entire time and on their phones. Just because you wear a glove doesn't mean you can touch your phone and than touch my food. To witness the workers dancing around touching each other bumping each with my bun and the handling of the cheese swinging cheese around like a toy. This place needs a complete overhaul of employees and management. It is a complete disaster! As for the food the fries had no salt were a complete mush. My burger I did ask for hot sauce but because the employee was busy joking around with another coworker she soaked the entire burger in hot sauce. I went here at approximately 5:30 pm today. After the cashier took my order I watched him turn and grab burger buns and start working the prep line WITHOUT changing his gloves. I asked him to change his gloves. He looked so confused. He did not understand why it was problematic to go from running the register to touching the customer's food without changing gloves. Wow. Talking and breathing over exposed food is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE during a pandemic. With the Delta variant spreading, the pandemic is not over! Every five guys I've been to outside of Staten Island has cheaper prices And puts fries in the bag. This five guys location is the cheapest place I ever been to. You would think for a $7 burger -- they would throw a couple fries in the bag like the other locations The buns are not even soft / moist Not sure what kind of staff they have work in there or where they get their materials but I suggest they communicate with the other five guys locations around queens - And get their stuff stuff straightened out. My rating is for the corporate team that decided to change the beverage selection and ELIMINATE PLAIN UNFLAVORED seltzer / soda water. I like Five Guys because of their customizable burgers and overflowing fries. The food at this Five Guys has always been good, and unlike some branches, they get my burger toppings right. The Cajun fries overflow seemed like a little less on our most recent visit, but at least there still was an overflow. I've never really cared much for Five Guys anywhere else and the same rings true for this location. It's not really their fault entirely, and I'll explain what I mean by that. I like a medium-medium rare burger, and Five Guys don't play that. They cook them well done, which to me is a sacrilege, but anyway. The issue is the staff seem so determined to cook all of the flavor out of the burgers; when I had it the last few times it was charred and crunchy on the edges of the patty. No bueno guys, this is an amateur mistake I would make when I was little and couldn't cook a decent burger yet. The fries come separate and are just as overpriced as their burgers, so adding stuff is costly. The odd thing about this franchise is their burgers come default with two patties. Not really a big fan of stacking two patties but that's just me. If they aren't crispy the burgers are good, but nothing exciting and after a drink and fries you're in for at least 18$. Cajun fries are seasoned until the potato is sneezing, but they're better than the regular fries. Food is overall average and somewhat greasy. I've been going here since they opened and was always satisfied. The last couple of times I've noticed their quality was starting to slip (skimping on fries, meat not fully cooked, barely any toppings) Most recently, I went in for lunch and the cashier, despite reading back my order twice, still managed to punch in the wrong keys (I checked the receipt) so my order came out wrong. She clearly couldn't care less about working either. The food was cooked properly but again, barely any topping (one slice of jalapeño is not an order of jalapeños) and the buns were extremely stale. Cashier winds up having a 30 minute conversation with another staff member, extremely loudly. We got to hear all her opinions on various topics while we ate. Considering they didn't even turn their music on, we considered it free entertainment. Seriously, I've heard screaming matches that were quieter. But what really tops the experience this time was the quasi-homeless / drugged up dude just taking a nap in one of their booths.
