Best pastrami south of Katz's. Served warm. Pickle platter was an amazing variety. Meat dumplings starter. Like my grandmother used to make. The place is decorated like an Eastern European home.

Wife and I sat down and ordered at 1:19pm. We got our drinks and not once did anyone decided to check on us. We didn't receive our food until 2:23pm we asked for it to go and the orders were still wrong. Pastrami sandwich with no dressing and a side of potato salad and an egg sandwich with well done bacon and cheese. Didn't have potato salad with the order, pastrami was covered in Russian dressing and the bacon looked bad. Would not recommend not come back

Cute little spot, but honestly the service was super slow waited over 45 minutes for our food. The pancakes came out dry and overall the food was just okay, nothing that really stood out. Parking is also pretty limited, which doesn't help. Not terrible, but definitely not a place I'd rush back to.

Quaint, cozy little place with GREAT door and a wonderful menu! Lots of vegetarian option and gluten free bread too. Food was excellent as was the service . Parking lot is a little small but you can also park on the street.

Phone did not eat first bc I was too hungry! This place is super cute with its decoration. We got the Reuben sandwich. It was good but still think Katz is superior . Slow service but overall it was still a great experience

"Stepping into this place felt like walking into the cozy living room of a beloved grandmother's home, only she's from another era and has an impeccable eye for décor. The space is quaint and beautiful, a little hidden gem tucked in a small strip mall along a busy main road. We hosted a wedding brunch here, and it could not have been more perfect. The food? Beyond exceptional. Perfectly crisp schnitzel, indulgent hot honey French toast, juicy Reubens, and family-style platters overflowing with handmade knishes and other delicacies. Just when we thought we couldn't take another bite, more dishes magically appeared and abundant doesn't even begin to describe it. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtful, and deeply satisfying, a true upscale Jewish delicatessen experience. The staff were the heart of it all....sweet, attentive, and genuinely kind, making us feel like cherished guests in their home. And for such quality and generosity, the prices were remarkably reasonable. This isn't just a restaurant; it's a place where memories are made. The owner was responsive, easy to work with, accommodating and just so wonderfully professional.

Delicious food, cozy restaurant, quick service! Must try! The plates remind me of my Grandmothers house. I really enjoy the Manhattan sandwich (I believe that's what it's called. And the potato latkes aka potato pancakes!

awesome spot to check out in staten island. the match was superb- large serving size, earthy strong taste. the sandwich had the most crispy chicken paired with a warm coleslaw that made for a perfect bite. the pancake collection was full of fun toppings: though since they were all kinda on top of one another i didnt necessarily get to try each taste separately. i was truly amazed by the food: the quality, taste, and presentation. also of note, you have to check out the thought to interior design it is absolutely so cute inside. service was quick i went on a weekday afternoon with no wait. there were maybe 15-20 seats inside so i could image weekends and evenings may be busier.

Very cute inside. Very bright. Tight seating area. Came on a Sunday around noon and was seated right away. Only two servers, but works out since not many tables. Food was delish. I ordered the classy lox with no capers. Delish. Bagel was still crunchy and warm. Wish it had more bagel options, but nonetheless--delicious. They only serve the signature cocktails, not a full bar. Will come back to try more of the menu.

We came across Sandwich and Pickle totally by accident driving through Staten Island. We were pleasantly surprised!! The interior is so cute, very Victorian. The menu has so many good classics to try but we decided on the pancakes and the pastrami sandwich and matzo ball soup. The pancakes were very fluffy and the syrup was amazing! The pastrami was moist and thick cut. Matzoh ball soup was good too! Wish we were local to the area to come back, but highly recommend! Service was quick.

The place has great ambience! The decor is very interesting--like a family dining room. Eclectic plates too. The menu had a great variety of choices however the prices were high and portions were on the smaller side. I had thought of it more of a sandwich shop but it was trying to be finer dining. $45 for eggs Benedict and avocado toast and tip --no drinks--I would estimate they are closed in a year with those Prices.

Best matzoh ball soup ever, potato salad and pastrami 1/2 Sando

This place is special. As Kitch and quaint as the decor inside is this this Polish sit down delicatessen packs a big flavor punch. We have been here a few times everything is tasty. The matzoh ball soup is the best that we've ever had. And although we aren't Jewish, we've lived in New York and had many a fabulous diner matzoh ball soup. But this one takes the Cake. the service is really good as well. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The sandwiches are great and the french fries are so crispy perfect crinkle cut fries.

We ordered at the counter: one avocado toast, pancakes (which had to be plain because they ran out of the other options), and French toast. We were told the wait would be about 30 minutes but could be closer to 20, and that our name would be called when the order was ready. We sat with our drinks and waited... and waited... and waited. Eventually I walked over to the wall of take-out bags and asked if our food was there. It clearly had been sitting there for quite some time based on the look of the bag and the reaction from the staff member. I could look past that -- it was busy, I get it. But when we got home, the food was completely inedible. The French toast was overcooked and rock hard. As we were trying to cut through it, we found a hair in the food. Into the garbage it went. Next were the pancakes -- burned on one side. Also went straight into the garbage. Finally we opened the avocado toast, which was literally half an avocado smashed onto a thick, rock-hard slice of toast. $65 later and every single item ended up in the trash. First and last time there.

Well, WAS is the key word. My husband gave it 3 star because of the mission of the Cafe, but the food he would give a 2. We ordered the cheese grits bowl for pickup. We got a container of cheese grits- okay but they needed salt and more cheese. A container of scrambled eggs cooked soft like we asked but they also needed salt, and a container with 2 sausage patties (which were flavorless). We also got a side of biscuits. Dry, seemed like the kind in a can- with no butter or honey, just a bunch of ketchup! My husband saw the banana pudding in the mason jar- so he added that to our order. $8. He went back in because he didn't see it. They said it was in a container. He returned and it was in there- in a very tiny container barely filled halfway- looking nothing like the one in the restaurant, and it wasn't that good, the bananas weren't ripe, and still hard. I'm thankful for the mission, so we may give it another try but maybe eating in is the way to go- we won't do takeout again!

I really enjoyed the octopus, charcuterie board, and the burrata (especially the sauce it came with). The middle course was pasta and they gave us a tasting of two. One was a vodka sauce pasta and the other had bolognese. Both good. By the time our entrees arrived I could barely eat another bite. I had the chicken. It was fine, nothing special. I liked the porcini sauce it came with and the mashed potatoes. Since it's a bakery they have a nice selection of sweets. Too bad I had zero room for desserts but people seemed to enjoy the profiteroles. On a Saturday night this tiny restaurant was packed. What really stood out to me was the presentation. The plating is decorative and gives upscale, fine dining vibes, which makes the whole brunch feel elevated rather than just casual. The service was also excellent--our server was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of the entire time. I also liked that they offer mocktails and allow BYOB for alcohol, which gives you flexibility depending on your preference. Now, just to be real--this place is popular, so expect a wait. The pancakes were definitely the highlight of the meal. We ordered the sampler sizes of the Tres Leches, Fruity Pebbles, and Banana Pudding pancakes. Out of the three, the Fruity Pebbles pancakes were by far the best, flavorful, fun, and wellbalanced. The Tres Leches pancakes, while good in concept, were overwhelmingly sweet. The Banana Pudding pancakes, however, were enjoyable and had a nice balance of flavor. For savory dishes, the Crab Cake Benedict was excellent and full of flavor. Unfortunately, the Chicken & Waffles Benedict did not meet expectations. The chicken lacked seasoning and crispiness, making the dish taste bland overall. I was not a fan of that particular entrée. On the other hand, the regular Chicken & Waffles dish was much better and came with three wings coated in a tasty hot honey sauce. The service and hospitality, however, left a lot to be desired. Although our waiter was kind , the timing of food was lacking. Also they did forget to give us utensils and we had to ask when one of the dishes arrived (because they didn't all arrive at the same time ) . Our table of four initially received only three drinks, leaving one person waiting an additional five minutes for theirs. The food was brought out one dish at a time rather than together, which disrupted the dining experience. The last dish to arrive, the Chicken & Waffles and Eggs Benedict ,came out so late that the rest of the table had already nearly finished eating. Overall, while some of the food items stood out positively, the lack of coordination and attentiveness in service negatively impacted the overall experience.
