WARNING: DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS BUSINESS -- RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL & POSSIBLY RACIST BEHAVIOR I am writing this review because no one -- and I mean no one -- should have to experience what my family went through at Five Points Gulf Service Center in Blue Bell, PA. This place is a disgrace to the automotive industry, and the owner, Luigi, should not be in business. I brought my son's car in for inspection stickers -- something simple. Luigi kept the car for TWO WEEKS and never did any work. No inspection. No repairs. Not even a phone call. Just silence, excuses, and complete disregard for our time. During that time, my son and I had to share my car -- all while he was preparing for his high school graduation. He had graduation rehearsals, a job to get to, and so did I. This caused real stress and hardship, but Luigi didn't care. He held the car hostage without explanation. When we called for updates, he was rude and nasty every single time. After two weeks of no progress, we went to the shop in person to get answers. What happened next was appalling. As soon as I entered the building -- calmly and respectfully -- Luigi came storming through the door, screaming at me in front of my teenage son. I hadn't even said a word. He yelled, "I'll call you when it's ready!" then shouted, "Take your paperwork and your car and GET OUT!" He was angry, aggressive, and hostile, acting as though I had no right to even be there. To make things worse, his wife was just as rude, cold, and completely unprofessional. Let me be clear: I am an African-American woman, and based on how I was treated -- with open hostility, no provocation, and no professionalism -- I strongly believe this was racially motivated. Luigi spoke to me with a level of disrespect and aggression that made me feel targeted, humiliated, and unsafe. My son watched it all unfold, and it was heartbreaking. Luigi originally quoted $250 for inspection stickers -- yet no service was performed. Just two weeks of delays, verbal abuse, and a total lack of accountability. Even though I feared for my life in that moment, one thing is certain: this will be the last time Luigi ever screams at a Black woman like that without being held accountable. He may have thought he could get away with it -- but not this time. If you are a woman, a person of color, or simply someone who expects to be treated with dignity and respect, then this is not the place for you. I will never go back. I will never recommend this business. And I will make sure everyone I know stays far away from Five Points Gulf Service Center in Blue Bell, PA. There are plenty of honest, respectful mechanics out there. Luigi is not one of them. This shop does not deserve your trust, your time, or your business. read more

Best service quality and pricing that you will get in a 40 mile radius hands DOWN. I work on cars and know good when I see it. It's rare in this market, but these guys and girls take care of your vehicle like it's their own and I will never go to another place if I can help it. Everyone here is really friendly and helpful, and they're very knowledgeable as well! They're located very close to home (I can walk there if I need to), so they're often my first choice for service. Luigi is great, though - does a great job with everything and makes good recommendations. I'm usually here at least once a year for inspections, and very happy to let them work on my car as well. I was driving home during mid rush hour with a scheduled four hour turnpike round trip early the next morning when a trucker kindly alerted me that my muffler was falling off. Since there would be no time to make an appointment at our usual dealer's service my husband announced he would try to wire the thing back himself that night. But I decided to take a chance and pull into 5 Points. They were crazy busy there very obviously and at the end of the day. And I am not one of their regular customers. Yet the owner so kindly agreed to take a look at it on the lift and took time to secure it with a new bolt - all finished within 25 min and hardly a charge. Great attitude. So kind and generous. I have never had an auto mechanic that was so good and so honest that I just did whatever they recommended, never having to question the fairness of their pricing. Luigi and his son Vince and their Gulf 5 Points is such a place. Don't take my word for it - just drive by Mon-Sat and see how many cars are parked outside of their shop. They probably service more cars in their 4 bay extravaganza than all the cars in the next 3 shops near them. Why? They are straight shooters, offer very fair pricing, and really care about EVERY customer. I'm probably shooting myself in the foot by telling you about Luigi and Vince as they already have more business than they can handle. This review concerns my first 3 experiences with Five Points Gulf. I wanted a 2nd. Opinion on my ancient (but well maintained), 1995 Honda Odyssey van. The Muffler chain which I used to frequent in Blue Bell, was Under "New Management" and tried to rip me off telling me I needed a complete new Muffler System etc. etc to pass the PA. State Inspection Totaling over $1700!... I declined. After checking some reviews on line, i drove up to FIVE POINTS GULF and met LUIGI COLELLA (the Owner) and spoke to him... I liked him and set up an appointment for a "2nd. Opinion" with Vincent (Luigi's son who is the Office Manager).... My car was checked promptly after I drove up and I waited. Everything was okay, and the car passed inspection without a glitch. I also had my Second car inspected and had the same pleasant experience. Both appointments were completed in about hour while I waited, (I did not have a ride). - I walked around the parking lot and observed a plethora of cars from the mundane to some very exotic machines. Maseratis, BMW "M cars", new Jaguars and also some very old Jaguars and a vintage 635 BMW coupe (one of my favorites!). I was surprised that FIVE POINTS GULF seem to do it all. - Another time i had a worrisome "Electrical Gremlin" with my High beams which stayed on continuously & i had to disconnect my battery every time i used the car!.. They solved very quickly for me at a very reasonable cost. It is a well-run operation and the service is friendly, professional and prompt at a reasonable cost. - They have approx. 4 or 5 , Technicians and 5 Service Bays in the building... It was a very busy place! As an aside, while I waited I spoke to several customers i met there and asked about their experiences with 5 Points Gulf. All of them informed me that they had pleasant and excellent experiences. Most were decades long customers... Based on my 3 very happy experiences with FIVE POINTS GULF, I recommend them Very Highly. This place is a rip-off and the guys are crude and rude. My mother took her car there for a repair, and they tried to charge her $600. When my mother complained, they laughed and said, "What, how about $700? How about $800, huh?" My mother became upset and left. I believe that they tried to rip her off, because she doesn't speak much English. She took her car to a different repair center where they charged her less than $100. Full service which is usually fast, but I stopped in for an oil change and they put my gas cap on wrong. Long story short...oil spilled all over when I began driving and my car started smoking from under the hood, and it cost over $400 to clean it all out. NOT thrilled about what that oil change ended up costing!! read more

The best place I have ever taken my car. I have lived in Blue Bell for 15 years and this was the first time I came here. My car needed a lot of work and when I got it back it runs better than ever. The place is very busy you cannot wait for your car but I have never dealt with friendlier people who really care. Also I have never been offered a ride home like they did at this place. This is a fantastic auto repair shop. They quoted me almost a thousand dollars less than other shops on the repair for my car (new struts and strut mounts all around and a new clutch and inspection) and took care to make sure everything was still done properly. From my experience this shop is not incredibly fast at turn around (takes about a week for major repairs), but the quality and the price easily make up for that. These are good honest guys who will do whatever it takes to make a customer happy. I wouldn't choose any other shop. read more

This is the rudest gas station I have ever encountered! One of their service guy was going 40 & slammed on brakes with no signal to turn in... I almost rear ended him due to his erratic driving. Thank God I was very attentive to the road & slammed on my breaks fast enough but everything in back seat flew forward, with my child! I turned around to kindly ask that they take it easy around those corners as there are kids coming from school in these cars & busses at this time. The older gentleman was nice but had a Greek like man come over. He was rude that I asked nicely if he could remind the young guys of this, his attitude was so rude & said "well call the police on them". I said sir I was trying to be a nice person & let you know, not involve the police when it's not necessary at all, just remind him. He gave me the " I don't care lady " hand & blew it off. Dropped my car on a Saturday afternoon. Needed two tie rods I had one held together with wire. they replaced them and I picked up my car Sunday afternoon. The price was fair and service was fast. they told me the price before they did the work. No hassle straight forward. Weekend service manager was polite and friendly. Been going there for years.Luigi used be a humble good man. Not anymore. The worn is rushed and mistakes huge mistakes, oversight takes place. Case n point. Engine job on car and they forgot to tighten radiator hose clamps .Eventually hoses came off on highway, antifreeze rushed out. Then the best part. Engine overheated so quickly ( steam everywhere,car died dead smack in intersection on 202 Highway) by myself. Thank God I didn't get hit because it was rushour. Thank God it's a 4runner or any other vehicle should have cracked block. Metal so hot is was like piping like corn. Barely got apology for that. Then this past weekday towed for timing belt job.Said 2 days. 3 days go buy (no phone call from shop )later tells me he didn't even order parts. When I questioned him he got in a huff n started swearing. I 've done business many years with he and Michael his former partner.He said you don't like it get it towed somewhere else.!! How dare him say that. Then I bought parts within two hours from our phone call. Personally drop them off brought Pizzas for the men and no thanks , no call saying I appreciate your efforts . Nothing. 9 going on 10 days and it's Christmas eve. Never asked if I needed it for holidays. Let me ask you all out there something. Does this clown n his son seem like they have my best interests in mind??!!! Need I say more. Stay away. Also. Very important: Buys cheap parts made in China from Bob's Auto Parts. Junk. Well I was using a auto station that was totally taking advantage of me..someone told me about Five Point Gulf and I decided to give them a try..I must say they are honest and always make time to talk and discuss your problem. The have saved me hundreds of dollars on useless repairs that Plymouth Auto told me I needed to have done to my car..It is a real pleasure to finally find an honest and decent shop..Luigi and Mike and Vince become like family once you take your car there..I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CENTER...You will not be disappointed......linda read more

They were close by and since it was a small shop and not a dealer I thought I was going to get hosed. Instead they were extremely friendly and helpful. Luigi was an EXTREMELY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL person to deal with! After trying to charge me an outrageous price for my car part, he recommended I buy it myself so they would install it. Based on his recommendation, I did and saved myself approx. $250! At this point all is well. The day comes to get my car fixed and he calls me (cursing) implying that I was wrong, in that, you can access my fuel pump via the trunk and that it was a waste of their time. Trying to get an apology across between his rampage, Luigi then goes onto say how I can take my car somewhere else and how he doesn't need my business (at this point I have yet to say anything out my mouth other than "hello" when I answered my phone so I am completely shocked by his demeanor). Since I was at work during his call, I decided to end the conversation by firmly asking him "do you plan on arguing for the next 30 minutes or are you going to fix my car at the price we initially established assuming you had to drop my fuel tank in order to change the pump". He replied by saying said he could do it for approx. $75 more than what was originally quoted (I agreed) and he abruptly hung up the phone. This type of service and attitude definitely caught me by surprised, especially since (at the end of the day) this is an auto repair business that, I thought, strived on provided great customer service. Please don't get me wrong, this place may be good at fixing cars, but with a very old/run down facility, poor customer service, and average (if not higher) repair prices, I would rather spend my money elsewhere. read more
