It's a Friday night right before Christmas, and it's not nearly as crowded as I expected. I've been…read moreto this mall several times and it's never overly busy, which I really appreciate. It has a nice mix of luxury brands along with more affordable options. I especially like the Macy's here, it's never crowded, as well as Pottery Barn and Crate & Barrel. They also recently added little words project (love this store and its mission to spread kindness ). We also came for their Christmas Santa photos, and it was a really nice experience meeting Santa with the kids. The only downside is that I wish they had a food court. It would definitely make the shopping experience easier, especially when you're there with kids and want to grab a quick bite. Overall, I like coming here.

Ahh, this strip mall has been around for a really long time, even longer before I was born in the…read moreextreme early 90s. When I was a little toddler in Garwood, my dad would take me out here just to walk around. There was an "open space" area with visible steel structures where I used to just run around briefly during those times. Today, that "open space" is still there. This strip mall has two anchor stores. Since the early 90s, those anchor stores were Walgreens and Kings. During the 90s, they had some other notable stores that I remember either going into or passed by when I was little. Those stores included Radio Shack, Encore Books (I bet a lot of you during those times remember this store!), Dress Barn, an Eye DR place, a liquor store, and a laundromat. The roof tops on the strip mall were green, and some green circles were visible on some parts of the strip mall as well. The parking lot is huge, and reasonably sized for all of the patrons here. The parking lot is also for patrons only, since they don't like commuters parking for the purpose of boarding trains. In the 90s, the parking area revealed a lot of old, faded parking stripes and designs, which proved that the parking layout was different long before I existed. But fast forward to today, the old parking decals are long gone, and the lot itself is quite smoother than before. Today, the stores that are still in business since the 90s include Kings, Dress Barn, an Eye Dr place (with different name), and a laundromat. Encore Books was gone and the space was probably taken over by Pet Valu. Walgreens moved further down the road, and Crunch Fitness took their former spot, thus making them an anchor. The liquor store got replaced by GNC. The steel structures were covered up in the "open space" area. The roof tops are still green today, as well as the circles, except for the one circle on top of Investors Bank. Not sure why that was painted with a different color. Overall, this strip mall serves the purpose of catering to the patrons in a very small town. I've never had an issue with parking here at all. Walking from one end of the strip mall to the other is pleasant. But be patient when trying to make a left turn into the strip mall from South Avenue as the opposing traffic can be very hectic at times. Cheers!

Weekends are absolutely packed here, but during the week is the best time to go cause you can actually take your time and avoid the hustle and bustle of all the people. Another thing to mention is that a movie theater is right out in the back so if you wanna go check something out in theaters, everything is made very convenient for everyone.

I am not a frequent mall shopper. However, for me the main difference between Jersey Gardens and…read moreother shopping centers in the vicinity are its outlet stores. At the very least, you stand a chance at getting decent deals and more bang for your buck! Outlet stores like Adidas, Nike, Coach, etcetera have usually have worthwhile bargains throughout the year, maybe even especially during holiday season. Parking is never scarce, but it still depends on what days/times you go. Not a big fan of their food court, but there is an adjacent movie theater.

The biggest strip mall in hillside and the busiest due to all the stores. They have a Tmobile, Pho…read moreplace, Chinese place, Gamestop, pharmacy, Chase bank, and other stores. Talk about variety. Parking lot is big but gets packed. Just watch out because people speed through the parking lot. Sales tax here is also 3% which is a plus.

Following my review of Union the town, I have come here to say that Union Center is quite nice…read moreespecially with the makeover it's received making it an even more attractive place to come hang out and eat. Many unique or otherwise Restaurants have made their home here like Van Gogh's ear cafe, Noodle Fan, Dava Fusion and more. Then there are Main Stay's like Brooklyn Pizza which has been around for years successfully and Magic Fountain Ice Cream which also has been around since I was a kid loaded up in the summer with people. Venturing further down Stuyvesant (where Union Center is located) away from Morris Ave. you'll find even more restaurants such as one of 4 of the Burnet BBQ locations, which has great Portuguese food. Parking is not as bad as some other strips similar to Union Center, but of course not perfect. If you're looking to try some unique spots to eat and hang out, Union Center is a good choice.

Space is limited and you might get lucky with street parking on Stuvesant. There are couple of public parking lots around that are free but fill up fast. They are trying to upgrade the area and make it better. The movie theater has been renovated who his a bargain compared to all mainstream theaters. All in all it's an upcoming place to shop and hang out. If you haven't checked it out then you should swing on by and give it a look.
