It holds a special place in my heart. The past few years, it felt like a ghost town walking around. There was so many closings, no stores I was excited to go to, it was just not on my radar. But it really does feel like it's having a renaissance! I stopped in last week to make a few returns and was so excited to see so many new stores and a mall full of shoppers. From Pottery Barn, Vera Bradley, Jcrew, a brand new Anthro, and so many other noteworthy shops. I left with a few bags in hand. If you miss your mall shopping days as much as I do, Bridgewater Commons is officially back and worth a visit.

A few areas could use improvement. Some sections felt a bit crowded or outdated, and inventory in certain sizes or styles was hit or miss. During busier times, lines can build up quickly, especially at customer service. Overall, it's a dependable department store that does what it's supposed to do. Not flashy, but convenient, practical, and a good anchor store for the mall.

This is one of those strip malls that's anchored by one store, which is a supermarket. The smaller retail units make up the remainder of this strip mall. This strip mall is anchored by Shop-Rite (reviewed separately). Notable tenants include Pet Valu, Hallmark, H&R Block, a Mailbox Business Center, Dollar (Plus) store, and Edible Arrangements. Other tenants include, but not limited to, a dry cleaner, a laundromat, florist, and a mixture of eateries. Of course there are some vacant units here, too. I've come here to patronize Shop-Rite and Starbucks (reviewed separately). I didn't have any issues finding a parking spot, unless it's because of the fact that I come here on weekday mornings when necessary. I also didn't run into any issues when entering or leaving the parking area either. I also walked from one end of the strip mall to the other. It was a pretty good walk. The strip mall appeared to be old, but in an okay condition. The roof top was brown, and the color around the signage appeared to be white. Triangular-shaped rooftops were visible on some parts of this strip mall. But what really matters is whether or not this strip mall has the place that you need to patronize at. Overall I'd say this is a very good strip mall.

There are a ton of great stores outside of the plaza as well, a Barnes and Noble, Target, Hand and Stone, and plenty of good food options are all within a 2 mile radius. The stores are all fairly new and well maintained and the plaza can get a bit busy but there is plenty of parking. If you can't find what you need, Route 22 awaits where everything else you could want is out there. Of course beware of weekends as everyone comes out. Best thing about this shopping center is also the back access from Liberty Ave./Morris Ave. so Route 22 isn't even necessary as that itself is often filled with traffic. Yup Union Plaza is great.

The mall is fairly big, with two floors, carrying a lot of familiar brand stores, and even ones that I'm sure some have never heard of. The interior has a modern look, which I'm sure had its renovation done a couple or several years back, but adds up looking clean and nice. It's in no condition of being a dead mall, despite there being a couple of closed stores, specifically anchor stores that don't exist anymore (pretty much all malls these days). The food court has a number to offer, with some of its usual eateries and a couple of ones that will blow your mind. Plenty of tables are provided to fit many people. For restaurants, there are Red Robin, The Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Chang's, Muldoon's Steakhouse & Pub, and Chipotle Mexican Grill. I wouldn't mind coming back to this mall, but won't be anytime soon due to how far I am.

We were so excited to see these machines as they had genuine limited gachapon straight from Japan! The price to play each machine ranges from 4 to 5 tokens and each token is $1. This is quite expensive but for the experience I'd say it's worth trying once or twice! If you're an anime fan, they had quite a bit of gachapon from popular animes like demon slayer, spy x family and dragon ball z. There is a machine that accepts cash or card which will give you the tokens to play. We also found a cool cotton candy maker vending machine near the food court but it was super expensive, I believe $10 or so for one and the machine itself didn't look very well kept. All in all, had a fun experience here!

The seafood department is another highlight, with live seafood tanks and a wide selection of fresh fish and shellfish, reflecting the market's Korean roots while serving a wide range of Asian culinary traditions. The aisles are filled with Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and Southeast Asian pantry staples--from noodles and sauces to snacks and specialty ingredients. One of the most fun parts of H Mart is the prepared foods and banchan section, where you can pick up a variety of Korean side dishes, kimchi, marinated vegetables, and other ready-to-eat items. It's a great way to sample traditional flavors or build an easy meal without cooking. Outside the market, the plaza continues the theme with several bakeries and eateries representing many different Asian cuisines. These bakeries in particular are a joy to browse, with the light, fluffy breads and cream-filled pastries that are characteristic of Asian bakery culture, along with bubble tea, noodles, desserts, and other treats. The plaza also includes a liquor store with a strong selection of Asian alcohol, including Japanese sake, Korean soju, and other specialty bottles that pair perfectly with the foods you'll find throughout the plaza.
