I, as well as my Husband have been going to Five Star Automotive for years. I fully trust Scott's work. He is one of very few honest to goodness business owners who can be trusted. He does good business and has a great team working for him. His competitive pricing is amazing too! I never have to worry about my vehicles I have taken to him. He has helped us out so many times. He's got a great big heart. We're the average poor family these days with kids and he has given us breaks because had we gone anywhere else we would have been paying a heck of a lot more. He does great things for people and our community. I am forever grateful for him. I don't ever want to take any vehicle I own to anyone else. What Scott says is 100% trusted and there is no better place! He's a busy guy and it can take a while to get in for service. But often times I will drop my vehicle off on a Sunday night and be ready to come get it a day or two later. And that's quite alright with me!! They have been really good to us. All great people. I was a long time customer at another local business who rarely returned my calls and took months to get me an appointment. I ended up leaving there and tried a few more businesses in the area before finding five star. I have a truck that I continuously brought in for services. My complaints were never fully addressed. I was told time and time again that everything was fine, it was just a big loud truck. I've had my truck for four years now, I knew it sounded different, and was not driving or handling the way it should. Finally, when I got into five star, they confirmed my fears, and confirmed that everything I thought needed to be repaired or replaced was accurate. It was a lengthy list. Bought a car from Scott two months ago, already had to put $1000 into a tranny flush and a front axel bearing. Not good service from them, highly DONT reccomend visiting them. read more

My husband and I were passing through this area on a trip to New Hampshire when our check engine light came on. I called four other places that told us they were closing in 30 mins and couldn't help us. Five Star answered the phone and asked how fast we could get there. I wish I got the mans name who helped us. He was absolutely incredible. He diagnosed our car, cleaned & adjusted a few things and now we're back on the road. I can't believe what a pleasant experience that was considering how panicked we were feeling when we pulled in. When we moved here, our local community page recommended Scott and Five Star, so we took our car in for some routine work for the first time about a year ago. Since then, we've had major and minor work done on our cars, and every single time Five Star has been fair, honest, and outstanding with their work and price. They recommended an excellent auto body shop when I had an accident, and even their recommendations are spot on! As other reviewers have said, they always look over the car and let you know if they find problems. They don't fix anything unless they talk to you first, and they fix problems fast so you have your car back quickly. These aren't just the best mechanics in town. These are the best mechanics I've ever encountered. They've never told me there was a problem that wasn't there. Never upped my bill, or added new charges. They HAVE told me when I didn't need work, or when a problem wasn't urgent and could wait, and they've saved me money. Best. Mechanics. Ever. read more

Five star has the best mechanics in town. Scott is about the most honest person in the business. There work is also great. They are also responsible. If they find any other problems with your car while they are working on what you want done they will not fix it unless you tell them. They are the best. I highly recommend this place. My car is a real pain in the neck. I was having so many problems with the fuel pump and just could not get it resolved. I had it towed to Five Star and they put in a new fuel pump. I continued to have problems but they did not give up (and they were nice about it!). So they figured it out and I am all set now!!! Great service, great attitude! Five Star gets a five star!! P.s. This is the best auto repair shop in the area. Scott is a fair and honest man in an industry known for neither. If you tell him that you hear a noise, he doesn't invent a problem to get you to pay more. Instead, he tells you that he doesn't hear anything, and deems your vehicle fine. He could have easily padded my bill, but he didn't. The place is always packed as a result. Love Five-Star! read more

Unfortunately have not had the positive experience that others have had. Left a car for a week and a half with instructions that when we returned from vacation, we would absolutely need the car back. Requested keys be left in car. They were not. Picked up the car anyways, had to argue about the bill for work performed that was not requested or authorized. Paid large bill by credit card with understanding that keys would be mailed to me. Incompetent office staff placed large manufacturer key and remote in a regular envelope with one stamp and was completely shocked that the key was ripped out of the envelope. Only the ripped envelope was delivered to me. Postmaster just laughed at their believing it would be returned. All I want is a replacement. Owner will not take responsibility - I hung up on him when he started calling me "HONEY". So "honey", if you want to be treated with respect, and want the same for your car - do NOT go to Five Star Automotive. read more
