We called Toyota Care for help. We wound up waiting 3 hours for a tow, but the people at Steve's allowed us to use the lot and the restrooms while we waited. After a ridiculous amount of a wait, Brenda, in the office called the tow company that we were waiting for, and "shook them up". Within 20 minutes the tow showed up. While we were waiting we saw the great body work that they were doing on cars. I would trust these people to work on my car any time. I can't express our appreciation for he kindness we received from the staff at Steve's.

As luck would have it, I had to be back this way at the end of the week for a wedding in Amherst, so I zoomed in for a re-inspection with one new tire and no window tint (and it was HOT this week!) a few days later and drove away 3 minutes later with a normal sticker. For anyone who may have similar issues this year, remember that these are not their rules, they just enforce them (and the inspection is now monitored on video, so Big Brother RMV can watch). Gas was cheap as well, so I filled up before heading on my way.

After getting my car back, I found that my center console had been gone through and items were missing, including a full cup of change (mostly quarters) and a pair of sunglasses. This was not the condition of my vehicle when I dropped it off. When I tried to address the issue, I had to call multiple times and leave several messages before getting a response. It took repeated attempts to reach the owner. When I finally did, I was told there was no reason for anyone to access the center console and that their employees would not do such a thing. Rather than showing concern or willingness to look into what happened, the response felt dismissive and unsympathetic. I was also told the paperwork I signed protects them from any responsibility for missing items, while they denied any involvement and said they had photos showing the car, including the center console, untouched, even though they also stated there would be no reason for anyone to go into it. What was most frustrating was the lack of communication, lack of urgency in returning calls, and lack of empathy or effort to investigate the situation in a meaningful way. Unfortunately, my insurance required me to use an in-network repair facility, so I had little choice but to use this shop. Based on my experience, I would think twice before leaving your vehicle in their care. Fortunately, I had already removed most of my belongings.

He was greeted with professionalism and kindness from Frankie who then referred him to Will to look at his car. After looking at the car extensively he showed our son the possible problems with the issue. Since our son is unfamiliar with automotive repair he reached out to us to let us know that the car would need repair. Since we are 3,000 miles away we called Stebbins. Will graciously took extensive time to explain to us what he found in his troubleshooting and assured us he would take good care of our son and if there were any issues he would take his time to ensure our son was safe and all was repaired efficiently and affordable. They took excellent care of the car and our son and continue to help our son with all his automotive needs. Kudos to the man who did it who must have climbed in my car and thought "what on earth?" because my car was stuffed with all of my breakables during a move. During the inspection, my dog and I sat on the wooden bench outside and watched the action drive by (surprisingly a lot, as it is right at a corner so I assume most people need to drive by here). Went inside to pay, the usual convenience store goods/snacks plus fishing stuff, if you are headed to the lake for a day of fishing. I drove by the lakes on my way into town, they are really pretty so I asked the guys there if they are for swimming as well? It doesn't sound like they are what you would want to swim in, but for being out on your boat or canoe, definitely. Swing by Robert's for your drinks, snacks, bait (and an inspection sticker, if you need that!) and tell everyone you enjoyed your time in Holland.
