So glad to have found this shop...their diagnostic abilities are top notch, their estimates are spot on, and their scheduling is timely. Sent my truck in needing exhaust manifolds and muffler work and the estimate was right on the money. An issue with tail lights was properly diagnosed to be the circuit board. Front and rear brakes with a brake cable being needed was yet another issue to be resolved. With all this work there were happily no surprises beyond what was originally estimated for. Great local shop for repairs and maintenance! I've been to John's twice and have had great experiences both times. The first visit was with my 2005 Civic. For a few months it was behaving oddly and the shops that I went to in Somerville were hesitant to diagnose. When we moved to Charlton I stopped in to John's and he gave me his straightforward assessment (blown head gasket). He charged me nothing for this and I felt confident in his advice. Nothing extra and if they see something else wrong while working on your car that's a quick easy fix they will take care of it no charge.
