In November, I cracked my tooth and a significant chunk was missing. Since I didn't have a regular dentist, I found Dr. Vorperian on Yelp and was encouraged to visit his office. The receptionists are friendly, and the lobby is small. Receptionists were always prompt about giving me at least 48 hours notice of my appointment time which I really appreciated. Dr. Vorperian is kind, but he's not warm - he's very direct which I could understand why patients might find him off-putting. However, I never felt he was unprofessional, mean, or anything else besides helpful. He provided me with relief and set up a temporary crown for an eventual permanent crown. The entire process took about two months, but that was only because my insurance needed to approve it, not the office. Overall, I had a positive experience. While going to the dentist can be intimidating, Dr. Vorperian and his staff took excellent care of me when I needed it most, and I am very grateful. read more

Appreciate this office so much! I've gone to Eton Dental in Canoga Park but needed an urgent dental appt due to a chipped tooth from an accident the day before. Norma at the front office was so accommodating and sweet from the moment I called, to when I came in and after I checked out. Thank you for making my experience good when I was imploding internally! So relieved to finally find a go-to dentist! ..After a nightmarish experience with White Smiles Dental in Canoga Park, finding Dr. Vahe was such a relief. I had severe pain in one tooth due to a filling job by White Smiles that has quickly gone terribly wrong. Norma the receptionist is super friendly. And Dr. V and his assistants were empathetic of my situation. I appreciate the care and attentiveness they provided me, as well as the transparent and upfront discussions about the costs of the service I was about to receive. After X-rays. Dr. V explained the cause of my severe toothache and that he needed to refer me to an Endodontist he trusts. He immediately got to work on relieving the pain, replacing the filling which helped me get through to my Root Canal appointment. I was in excruciating pain all night due to an infected molar, which I did not have an appointment for a root canal until two weeks later. The following morning with little to no sleep I desperately scrambled to locate a dentist who can perform an emergency root canal. Early that morning before dental office hours I left several messages across multiple dental offices. Dr Vorperian was quick to call me back even before his office opened. The doctor was able to accommodate me at 10:30am to assess my tooth. As I arrived at his office I was greeted with compassion and professionalism by his office staff Norma and Daisy. Dr Vorperian was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and direct with his communication as he assessed my tooth and next steps instructions. The procedure was painless and efficient, immediately relieving my pain. Unfortunately he was not able to perform the full root canal on this visit due to the current condition of my tooth. However, he continued to show compassion and was able to fit me in the following week into his already fully booked schedule to complete the root canal. Not to mention the follow up call later that day to check on my status which was surprising and very much appreciated. Overall, my experience was very pleasant thus far and a blessing that I was able to cross paths with Dr Vorperian's office. I know Dr. Vahe Vorperian since 2015 when my Mother was his patient. Very happy to know him. Dr. Vorperian is very kind, sweet and to the point and do the job rapidly without elapes. Dr. Vahe Haykaz Vorperian is by far the very best dentist I have ever visited or heard of -- in over 50 years. I have used him for about 10 years, & cannot imagine going to any other. Even if I move, I'd drive here if at all possible. I have used him mostly for cleaning & deep-cleaning for myself & my two children, & also occasionally for extraction, gums & crown. Every procedure & every visit was PERFECT. My son, since he was about 10, actually looked forward to visiting this dentist! ("No pain during, quickly over, & nice clean feeling after", he said.) I am following with a lengthy review below; read on for details, or just take the above few lines as a full 10-out-of-5-stars endorsement. ********** I still recall my first visit to him (for cleaning), IT WAS MAGIC. I could not believe it was over & done in a few minutes (after 40+ years experience with other dentists). So much so that I actually requested & used his mirrors to check my teeth, & they were bright-&-shiny-new! I finally became a believer after my second visit for cleaning, 6 months later, when I found that there was still nothing wrong, & it was equally quick, & equally clean. About ten years later, knowing it all, I am still left surprised after every cleaning visit; it feels like he beats his record every time. He is extremely FAST & EFFICIENT; takes less than half the time for cleaning or deep cleaning vs. any other dentist I have used or seen. And yet the results are always better than others. He always does the cleaning (& deep-cleaning), & usually hands the final polishing to the assistant (sorry, not sure of the correct term for them; please pardon if wrong). But he is also always FRIENDLY, joking, & very, very willing to give you as much time as you like, for all your questions & concerns. He remembers all his patients well, & the work done for them. Yes, of course, he refers to his file/ notes for that last, but it clearly shows with how much care he puts into writing those notes, & reading them on the next visit. He is PAINLESS; well, to be honest, least painful that I have ever encountered. Much of it is to do with how magically quickly the work is completed. I have usually opted for no numbing agent, since I know how fast & pain-free he is; only when he strongly advises (for certain procedures), do I finally agree to the numbing. The most pain I feel at the dentist is from the X-rays (the film strip in the mouth); though that too is done fast & efficiently by the operator. The second most pain is the strain (on the jaws/ muscles) of keeping your mouth open. The actual implements-'attacking'-the-teeth is the least of my worries. He is very COST-EFFECTIVE; dare I say it? - CHEAP. Always gives the best & cheapest option, never up-sells or advises more work than strictly necessary. And the prices are the best. At one procedure, when I hesitated on the cost, he even offered to go down on the price, insisting the procedure was very necessary; but I did not take up his offer (as I told him, I could well afford it, only questioned if I should really spend that much). Another example: my previous dentist told me I needed surgery for my gums; but Dr. Vahe was willing to first try medication, surgery as a last resort, & the medication worked! He is ON TIME, EVERY TIME; never a long wait at the office. In fact, if you are early (as I usually am), you could be taken before your appointment time. All the same, you always see his stations are full of patients, plus 1-3 patients waiting, i.e. he is kept very busy. His ASSISTANTS (again, not sure of the term) are fine, in keeping with my expectations from the doctor. They do change from time-to-time, but they all seem perfectly 'matched' to the doctor. His OFFICE STAFF is great; again, though they change from time-to-time, they are all always friendly, polite, & efficient. APPOINTMENTS are a breeze, & reminder call the day before is very helpful. There is the usual penalty for cancellation at the last minute, but the one time I had to (as my son felt unwell), he was very understanding, & did not enforce the rule. He does NOT go in for APPEARANCES. His office looks like a hole-in-the wall in a strip mall, & his sign-board says simply "DENTIST" (not even "Five Star"). His waiting room is small, & so are the cubicles housing the stations. But everything is super clean, neat, up-to-date, efficient & comfortable. He has a TV in waiting room, & one at each station (there are 4-6 stations + X-ray room). Equipment seems to be the best & very up-to-date (as far as I can tell, strictly as a layman). Temperature is always perfectly comfortable in all seasons; heat or A/C just right. The waiting room (which gets the afternoon sun) has a portable A/C unit in summer, & it does its job well. This is important to me (perhaps not to others), at doctors, dentists & even hair-dressers; i.e. whenever someone is going to 'operate' on me. I am soooo glad I found Dr. Vahe! After a horrible dentist experience last year, I was a little hesitant to just randomly find a dentist. The last one over charged me and told me I needed like 3 fillings and I really didn't think my teeth were that bad. When in doubt, refer to Yelp...so I did. Called a few and Five Stars said they had a Yelp promotion going on so I booked an appointment for a check up and basic teeth cleaning. I had to reschedule a few times but they were so nice about accommodating me. The place is clean and Dr. Vahe was amazing. He genuinely cares about the patient and wants to get to know you. They had checked my dental coverage before I made the appointment and called me back to confirm. 1st step covered...anxiety down. Pulling up in the parking lot I had second thoughts. But don't let the store front fool you! First, the office was clean and beautiful. They have stat-of-the art equipment! The staff are so sweet and caring from the first "hello" with a smile! Anxiety down even more! I opted for complete DIGITAL x-rays, a thorough cleaning and filling in where some of my gum had Receded around several teeth. Looked into this dentistry for two reasons. 1.) the reviews on yelp. 2.) my inclination that a prior dentist's diagnosis seemed off and I wanted a second opinion. What can I say? This dentistry is great. I had an appointment at 5PM and got out at maybe 5:30PM with a full exam and cleaning. They're very quick and helpful. The lady at the desk was very informative and helpful with questions I had with my insurance and what was and wasn't covered. The dentist was really nice and confirmed what I felt about my prior dentist. The PRIOR dentist "over-diagnosed" me. Dr. Vorperian was very informative and patient as I had questions. She certainly was not going to place the THYROID cover over me until I requested it, and that wasn't my problem it was her response to my request. Secondly, I never asked, requested, or insinuated that you to do any more than a cleaning on the day of my visit, although it was appreciated I never asked. You took that upon yourself. However, I go by the old adage better done right than quick. If I would have known the job I would have received because you decided to squeeze me in, I would have declined. And I'm completely fine with your assistant not having anyone to help her, if she did a good job but I did not feel like she did and I feel like she could have benefited from some help. Lastly, you never addressed the gash that was put in my lip by the dentist. It would have been better if you never responded back to me.
