I was very happy with Tim and Bobby who handled my long distance move and they were very professional and worked efficiently. My move was not the easiest but they made it easier than it would have been with Big Box Name companies. If its either a local move or long distance move call 5 star and they will take care of you. I've used five star three times. Their service is excellent. They always show up right on time. Each move I had was 3.5 hours whether it's 2 men or 3. my last move which was may 22 three guys showed up and it took them two hours just to load up. I felt that was a little too long and that was with the help of me and my son. my son took his bed apart. I took my daughters bed apart to make it easier and quicker. I had them take my bed apar. At the end of the move which was exactly at 3.5 hours, the mover asked if I can handle it from here as far as putting the beds back together. I told him yes just so it wouldn't be a 4-4.5 hour job. But all the other times our beds were taking down and put back together by them within the 3.5 hours. So I was just a little disappointed with this last move. read more

We hired Five star moving for our move from Clovis to Pebble Beach. They were very professional, quick and worked very hard. We have a very steep driveway in Pebble Beach and they moved all our furniture and boxes up and down our driveway. This is the 4th time I have used 5 Star Moving in Clovis! My wife and I had to move on Labor Day weekend September 4th,2017... Several weeks before I called and spoke to Nicole who was just awesome! We moved back from the Sacramento area and rented a small apartment while waiting for the house we wanted, thank God 5 Star is still in business...They are the only moving company I trust and will ever use as long as Richard still works there! Nicole had Richard set an appointment to give me an estimate and after checking with a few other companies in town just to see how rates have changed since I last moved, Richard gave me a quote that was way below what others were asking! Nicole set the appointment and Richard showed up right on time with his son Junior and the moving truck...they did everything that was promised and then some! They were careful, thoughtful and worked very hard to get us moved, they even hooked up our washer and dryer for us, they even picked up the truck and returned it for us! We are so very blessed to have them move us on Labor Day of all days and did not charge extra for being a Holiday weekend! We will never use any other company for our moving needs small or large and have already referred them to some friends who will be calling them soon! I cannot say enough about how great this company is...Anyone who hires them will be blessed by a company who actually keeps their promises! We will send them all the business we can. First, I have to say this is the FIFTH (5) time that I have used Five Star Moving to move!! The first time I had to move was in the middle of nursing school and that was extremely stressful! I had hired another moving company and they had overbooked and couldn't move me. I insisted that they find me another moving company immediately and they did! Last-minute Five Star Moving came to the rescue! And they were not only early for the last-minute move, but they were also efficient and kind and helped me to the very end of a very, very long day!! I initially had them scheduled in the afternoon but their first job went a little long and there was just no way they were getting our big pieces out in time to make it to our storage unit in time. They came and looked at what we had that day and came the following morning. No issues, they carefully wrapped all the glass and didn't break any furniture (we have very old antique China cabinets). Nicile was very professional and was able to schedule my move. Bobby and Brandon showed up and within a matter of minutes got the loading underway. These gentlemen were very polite, professional, and great sense of humor! They did not miss a beat! My furniture was blanket and shrink wrapped for protection. It was really hot. Inside the truck (they were loading a 28 foot moving trailer that was not theirs) it had to have been over 120 degrees. They took the time to pack it tight and to the ceiling. I have to say, the professionalism of this company knocked me off my feet! Let me elaborate. I own a moving company down in San Diego, CA and we complete long-distance moves all the time. As one could imagine, I turn from a service provider into a customer quite often. This time, we were taking a load from Fresno, CA down south. It was a 3-bedroom home so I had a 2-man crew from my company come up there while I have ordered 2 more movers from 5-star Moving. Here is how they exceeded my expectations: - I needed help loading my truck on Sunday and I called them on Saturday afternoon. Points for accommodating a last-minute move - Lady over the phone was courteous and very knowledgable in moving. Honestly I felt that I was talking to a fellow business owner, that's how warm and pleasant she sounded over the phone. - I received a confirmation text message to reassure me that movers are coming on Sunday at 2:00pm - On Sunday, at EXACTLY 2:00pm, I received a phone call from their foreman: "we are here". I would like to say there were no surprises, but I must correct myself: no BAD surprises. On the contrary the pleasant surprise was that the crew showed up with one extra mover since their previous job was a 3-man! So I got one extra pair of hands absolutely free of charge! - only in 3 hours the loading was finished (3-bedroom homes typically take longer). Their foreman called me immediately and asked for the payment. At that point, I got into a fighting ppse ready to fight off any hidden fees! Nope, there were none!!! The foreman took a payment over the phone exactly how they said they were going to charge. - To top it off, the sales lady called about 15 minutes after they collected the payment to make sure I was another satisfied customer! Bought a heavy duty beautiful table off Craigslist needed someone to move it to my place ASAP, I called and they got me the best deal and they were able to do it in such a short notice. I called at 1240pm and they were able to have 2 movers come by the guys place by 330pm the same day, everyone else I called wanted $200+ just to move 1 dining room table, ridiculous!!! So happy we went with 5 star movers, Nicole gave me a very fair deal, only $75 they showed up on time, she was prompt and keep in good communication with us. The movers handled my item with care, great service, awesome attitudes, willing to help and even assemble our table all for only $25 extra. Very disappointed with this company. They didn't even bring packing tape. Not do they have wardrobe boxes which are standard for moving companies. Very unprofessional and unprepared. And, as seen in photos here, they will abandon your furniture leaving it strewn about in various places in the apartment complex so that 3 workers at one time can all take their smoke break together. And they were very slow. I guess that's their strategy to get you to pay for more hours. This was only for a small 2 bedroom apartment move, no large appliances even. Do not use this company unless you want to be treated rudely and watch 3 men working slowly to elongate the hours spent moving to get more money out of you. Shady business. read more

I called this company based on it's reviews and spoke with Nicole. She was very thorough and upfront about pricing. I waited a couple of days, then messaged Nicole over the holiday weekend and was able to make arrangements for the movers to come out on Monday. On Monday morning 745ish, I received a courtesy call that they would be slightly delayed, for our 8am start time. Well, at 830 am, my movers Bobby and Randy showed up and showed out! I only had a few pieces of furniture, but they were heavy. They took their time wrapping and making sure to be careful, with not only my items being moved, but preventing any damage to my home.
