I had been managing our home for many years and was hesitant bringing on a property manager. Now that I have done so, I'm so glad to be working with Five Star Property Management and the Blue Team. Matthew and Randy from Five Star Property Management mentioned they have a philosophy of treating customers' homes like their own, and it really feels this way. I experienced some unforeseen problems with an existing tenant. The Five Star Property Management team has really taken it upon themselves to work with me through these problems which I appreciate. You have my feedback and I have loads more to provide and have done so on going to your staff during our tenancy, but the only time I've ever gotten a timely response is after a public review which apparently you feel deserved an immediate response only defending your poor service from your company without any accountability, empathy for a fully paid on time great tenants and only addressing 1 issue that I've attempted to bring to your attention off line. A call is a classier professional way to resolve issues instead of blanket statements on a review in defense which is typical behavior going through your reviews. Also posted on Google, but since Yelp seems to be taken seriously, I figured I'd post here as well. Keeping current so it doesn't get lost in the other reviews. Note: was contacted by email after my late 2024 update. I have cut and pasted the email from the owner: 'I did not realize the impact we had on you. I am sorry that the experience was so bad that you think of us each year with such disdain. I am sorry we did that to you.'. My response confirmed I had zero emotional investment thinking about this company, except keeping my review current so others are aware of issues they may face in dealing with Five Star. Review starts: My property manager retired after 10 years, so I went on the search for another management company. I hired these guys based partly on the Google reviews. Boy was that an eye opening experience. Not only were things that were initially discussed by phone incorrect, forgotten about, or just plain wrong, but also it seemed like they wanted to spend my money on repairs, estimates and the like, as if it grew on trees. Specific examples: prior to renting out my vacant condo, repairs to bring it up to standards were necessary. These repairs were originally estimated at over $3000, which was ridiculous, given what was actually needed. A supplementary estimate from another company came in just over $1100, for exactly the same items. Quite the difference, but their initial reaction to the first estimate was just to ask for my authorization to complete the repairs as estimated, not obtain a second estimate to confirm the repair amounts. There was also a plumbing issue, that necessitated a trip out to the same condo for a repair estimate. The estimate was provided, but at a cost of $125, just for the estimate. I don't know of ANY company I've ever dealt with [and I've owned rental properties since the 90's] that hires professionals that don't give free estimates. But it wasn't Five Star's money, so I guess it was all fine by them. There are numerous other issues, but I'll let you find out for yourself if you decide to deal with them. The one positive thing, was they let me out of my 1 year contract at no penalty after 6 months to hire another company. They did send MOST of my money that they were holding to the new company in a timely manner, including the security deposits, and most of the reserves [they ended up deducting that $125 for the previously mentioned estimate when they forwarded the funds]. They did not, however, send the garage remote, and I ended up having to pay to break into my own garage and have a new remote programmed. When the new property management company confronted Five Star about this, they had no idea what had happened to the remote, nor why it wasn't sent with the documents and deposits. In fairness, I was going to leave a 1 star review prior to the cash transfer issue, it did not affect my perception of them whatsoever, it just confirmed it. You take your chances if you deal with this company, but I'll leave it you you. read more

Anthony (Tony) McLain is hands down THE BEST property manager...bar none! He is quick to respond, always thorough, and his follow-up is fantastic. He is genuine and that's not easy to find in Las Vegas. He never backs down from the hard conversations that he has had to have on my behalf and I can't tell you how much we have appreciated him over the years. He is true to his job and his work ethic is top notch. If you ever want a property manager that will have your back, Tony is your guy! This was the worst customer service. I would highly not recommend this companies business. My boyfriend and I applied for a home and we had a terrible experience. There was no communication, we had to reach out to get any response or answer from them. Azury was absolutely the worst to work with she mislead the situation, did not contact us and straight was no help at all. We were willing to pay a full year of rent and our background was good. I travel around the world for work and constantly find myself in different time zones. That makes owning a rental property in Las Vegas challenging at times. Communications with other companies were often delayed multiple days as they waited for the simplest of approvals. I once sent a dozen emails over the course of 7 days just to get a plumber to provide an estimate! I just wanted it fixed! That's where Matt and his team really shine. They use common sense and handle basic problems in order to keep my properties occupied and most importantly- making me money! I've also used Matt to complete a handful of real estate transactions including purchasing and listing several rentals, and also speculating on commercial lots. The nice thing about working with a company like Five Star is that they're big enough to handle different types of transactions but not so big that they forget your name. Upon buying the property, I was given 5 Star's information. I spoke with the agent and although it took a bit of time, partially my own misunderstanding of what I needed to do but it took a bit longer to get it listed than I would have liked. Once everything was done and the property was listed, my next communication was a bill for over $800 for damage to my property!! There was a break in. I was never told about this prior to getting the bill. I had to request a police report and I had to insist that the HOA be notified!! Extremely unprofessional and uncaring for me and the community the property was in. I can't speak for anyone else but myself and my experience with this company. They treated me very unprofessionally. Maybe you will have different results from this company. But if you don't you were warned. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. This has got to be the WORST property management in all Nevada. I recently moved out of my home with no damages on the property. They emailed me a month later after I moved out saying I will not get my deposit back and charging me $602.71 for no reason. Also charging me additional fees that have nothing to do with my responsibility. They will not leave you alone until your pockets are empty. Five Star Property Management was a pleasure to rent from. They were always easy to get ahold of and extremely polite. They worked with me so much and I appreciate the company and how they operate. Def take advantage of using the Carpet cleaner, it's usually always available. Keep your place nice and clean and be a good tenant. I treated the place as if it were my own because I was thankful to the owner for renting to me. I left it ready to rent when I left. It should look how it did when you moved in aside from wear and tear obviously, which I still fixed myself because I respect five star, the owner and myself. I would also give zero stars if I could. I don't know where to begin with the amount of mistakes made by Matt and his team; I have countless emails of communication where Matt has apologized and vowed to do better. Numerous phone calls w my husband and me where we would give him another chance. At the end we couldn't take it anymore. A tenant refused to leave at stated time and Matt refused to take any eviction action as stated in contract that they would. Tenant finally left and 5 Star couldn't get around to getting in home for inspection for a very long time. We live out of state and couldn't get in there anytime soon but in any case we had paid for property mgmt services. We lost costly rental income due to this. It's a horrible management company and Matt you can reply however you like but remember I have all email correspondence to provide the truth. Y'all have been warned. read more
