Sampled some great tasting sausages and pickles Friday at York State Fair. Took 3 items home. Went back tonight to get more from them. I was impressed on how knowledgeable they were while explaining the difference in all the meats. I think their names were Monique and Shawn. Stopped by their booth at the Western Idaho Fair last week when he yelled out "OH" upon seeing my OSU hat. They were both from Ohio. Sampled some pickles and lots of the meats and all tasted great. Said I'd come back later to purchase (which I meant) because I had just arrived at the fair, it was 99 degrees out, and I didn't want to carry the food around for the next four hours. Just before leaving the fair I went back to make a purchase. Asked the price and was shocked! I expect to pay a premium at a fair booth, but even with their "buy one, get one free" deal I wasn't going to pay $50 for two small packages of sausage/kielbasa with two small sticks in each. The pickles were $25 for a quarter too. Products tasted great, but prices are ridiculous. Walked away buying nothing. On a side note, in conversation the guy cutting meat mentioned he was Russian but now a US citizen. We were having a nice talk about how I'd like to see Russia one day when he stated that the war in Ukraine right now was "caused by the USA." Not a smart thing to say, especially when trying to sell products in the USA. read more

We hit their booth and sampled a lot of things as we walked into the Saratoga County Fair a few weeks ago. On the way out, I purchased 3 quarts of pickles (regular dill, sweet&hot, extra garlic) and multiple packs of kielbasa (beef, teriyaki, chicken&cheese) hot&spicy hunters sausage, and wagyu beef sticks. Because I spent over $200, The vendor threw in a free small block of parmesean cheese (which I grated), an extra kielbasa and extra wagyu sausage pack. Sure, the price is higher than what you'd pay at a local grocery store, but this is high end product. I've cooked most of the meats I purchased on an outdoor griddle, and without a doubt, the kielbasa is by far the best I've ever eaten. Worth every penny! read more

The customer service was great and the pickles be purchased were delicious. But I was not expecting them to be $20! I purchased these at the home and Garden show in Cleveland. Definitely ask the price before you purchase anything because never in my wildest thoughts would pickles cost $20. read more

VERY PUSHY, HIGH PRESSURE Ukrainian salesman!!! We kept telling him we only wanted ONE package of sausage and he kept trying to sell us TWO instead!!! It wasn't until I told him it was one and one only, NOT two, and that if he said two again I wasn't going to buy anything at all, that he finally stopped trying to pressure us to buy two packages of sausage and rang us up for the one package we wanted. We won't be buying anything from 5 star sausage in the future as a result!!!! read more

I attended a Vintage Market event in Kansas City Mo on Sept 27, 2025. Five Star Sausage and Pickle Company was there. The person selling the pickles told everyone what the cost was. However the person selling meat was a different story. A person in front of me asked him more than once how much the meat cost. Never answered just kept saying buy one get one free. They never explained any part of the promotion only buy one get one free if the two products were the same. I bought 2 packages of Bison with Cheese Kielbasa (Sausage). Total was 80.01 with no receipt. I had to look on line at my bank account to see what I was charged. We had already left the event and couldn't go back to voice my complaint. What happened to buy one and get one free. According to your web site the meat is 39.00 for one lbs and all meats are the same cost 39.00. Mine should have been 40.00 not 80.00. I am going to notify the company that puts the event on each years. They need to know how you are scamming people. 39.00 for a pound of sausage is ridiculous. If it had been 40.00 for 2 better but still very over priced. I paid 80 for 2 pounds of sausage. What a rip. I hope the word gets out how your company runs it's business. I heard the salesperson telling people he couldn't tell them the price until they decided what type of meat they wanted. Your website says all meat is 39.00 a pound no matter why kind you buy. There is nothing that can be done at this point, except reviews. I have no receipt, to prove what I bought. Be careful when dealing with this company. At least I have voiced my concern about the company & to the company who organized the event. May also file a complaint with Better Business Bureau. read more

Pricing, and make sure everything is in the bag before you leave, because the receipt is not itemized. I had no idea until I got home hours later that I didn't get everything I paid for, and there is nothing on the receipt to prove it. I will not buy from there again. read more

Just found Five Star Sausage at the Seattle Convention Center, Home and Garden Show. I am SO glad. We stopped and they offered us samples of everything! And it was so good. The quality was apparent just looking at the product. But the TASTE was the clincher. So many good flavors. I dropped $220.00 that I did not plan on spending, LOL. The owners at Five Star were friendly, generous and gave us good deals. Now I'm a fan. And we bought their home made pickles. Great stuff. If you find them online or at an event like I did, try them out. I know I will put more than one of their products. This will absolutely go on the next charcuterie board for a dinner party. read more

Wow, if I could give this company a zero star rating, I would. We shopped with them at the Maricopa County Home and Landscape Show in Glendale AZ on February 24, 2024. We sampled some of their sausuages and cheeses. Everything was buy one get one free and tasted pretty good. We made a purchase and it was very much overcharged. Also, I feel like it was bait and switch for the pork that we sampled and purchased. It turned out to be a twisted link that was rough when sliced when what we sampled was a very smooth cut and very tasty when given the sample and not so much when we opened the package. We did try to reach out to them from the receipt that was sent by text but not itemized with no pricing shown anywhere at their booth either. We emailed them find out how the charge was so high (well over $200 and certainly not worth it.) We sent him an itemized list of what we purchased. All we got was that we purchased some of the more expensive items. We could not get to the total that we were charged in any way and he said that he would give us a credit to paypal. As of today which was more than a week, we have seen nothing to paypal or our credit card. This is outrageous. Beware as they are not honest and nowhere near worth what we paid. read more
