So, when he passed away, I opened an Estate account here to keep things simple. However, I deposited a check thinking I had only created a checking account but, unknown to me, the check went into his savings account. I got temporary checks to handle his remaining finances. When I used the checks, they all bounced because the check was deposited into savings vs checking. Keep in mind that all checks were written within a close timeframe, and I don't monitor the account every day as this is not my personal banking establishment. So, within a week, about 4 checks were bounced, more than once, with $30 charges each time. When I called MCT I was simply told the check was placed in savings instead of checking and that I should move the money to checking to avoid insufficient fund fees. And, they didn't offer to remove any of the fees even though my Dad had an exemplary record at MCT and had been with them for years! MIND BLOWING. And, these people were familiar with my Dad's situation and we had spoken, on several occasions, over the last year. I'm just wondering why no one called to give me a heads up that checks were bouncing on his account. The problem could've been easily resolved. Just very frustrating.

Any disputed charge on your card leads to your card being cancelled and a lengthy paperwork and service process to resolve. My card is unusable at most sites online and anything outside of the US, and most places out of town. When I complain I am told it is to combat fraud. I might as well be paying cash for everything as my card is almost useless online or over the phone. I cannot find a different bank fast enough.

Calls to the local branch or their head office in Groves are like pulling teeth, being passed from person to person and everyone saying, "Oh! You'll need to talk to so and so for that," as they continuously pass the buck from one coworker to another for 30+ phone calls - and that's if you make it that far without being hung up on. I've received more efficient and courteous customer service from the Department of Motor Vehicles throughout this process - and that should tell you something. I will never do business with this institution again and will be closing my remaining accounts with them shortly. I encourage anyone reading this to consider doing the same.
