If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. I thought I could never get my drivers license back and just the thought of each and every step it will take for multiple tickets from Barstow to LA, I didn't even know where to begin. Nor did I have someone that could've driven me back and forth to take care of them either. Finally, I decided to look into lawyers that could go for me, but I was dreading the cost since I had 2 tickets, not just one and one was really far away (Barstow), plus these tickets were from 3 years ago and all FTA. I've been driving for over 20 years and I been pulled over a couple of times for speeding but was let go with a warning, but a couple of months ago I wasn't so lucky. I was pulled over for speeding, the cop told me I was able to take traffic school to keep this off my record and pay the fee which was in the hundreds of dollar. So I contacted the courts and they told me I wasn't able to take traffic school because the cop recorded me speeding more than 30 mph from the speed limit. At that moment I though, OK I'll just pay the hundreds of dollars for the violation, but I was concern regarding the strike against me and the cost increase from my insurance. And there was a check mark for misdemeanor in my ticket that got me concern. So I decided to contact an attorney to help me out. I've contacted several attorney using Yelp, one dealt with criminal law more than traffic tickets, another was a traffic attorney, but his grammar and response made me question his professionalism, and there was a couple of other traffic attorneys that only had a couple of reviews so I didn't even brother with them. *Sigh* I wish I would have had better knowledge on the system before hiring Mr. Miller. I had gotten my first speeding ticket back in December and I panicked and looked to an attorney for answers. Boy was that a huge mistake... I was originally fined $360 for the speeding ticket and of course had the option of paying it and attending traffic school, or just fighting it myself. Unfortunately I took the stupid route and hired Mr. Miller who charged me $250 to fight the case. My conversation via phone with him was short and brief. He didn't ask much about the case, only what the ticket was for and what the citation number was and took it from there. He handled the extensions and appearances and also emailed me with updates. The service was just okay. The ticket was extended up till now (August) which was the court date. Unfortunately he was unable to get my ticket dismissed and somehow the fine was increased to $420. Fortunately I'm able to still complete traffic school with no points on my record. So now I'm left to pay $700 after paying his fees, the citation fee and the traffic school fee which would have originally been $380 (fine + traffic school) if I had just paid the ticket myself. Do not be fooled like I was by these 5 star reviews.. Most of the cases he's won I'm guessing are because the officer didn't appear in court. I understand that you can't win every case, however I don't believe Mr. Miller did anything spectacular that I couldn't have done myself. My advice for speeding tickets at least are to fight it yourself. Either pay the fine or go into court and talk to the judge and request for the extensions/ reduction yourself. He really does nothing that you can't do yourself. Hiring him was one of the worst decisions I've made. I guess you live and you learn. -UPDATE- This update is in response to Mr. Miller's comment on my review. First of all, I did not receive a 15 to 20 minute consultation. It was more like a 5 minute phone call which was maybe even shorter than that. I repeat, no questions were asked about the area in which I was speeding or the incident. I simply gave him the citation number, my contact information and the fee of course. I might have given a 5 star review had I felt that any effort was put forth towards the case that was above and beyond what I could have done myself. Unfortunately I was uneducated about the system and that is indeed my fault. Regardless of if the case was won or not, this does not change the fact of what I stated previously. Which is Mr. Miller does nothing for you that you cannot do yourself for free. It's really easy money for them that you could be saving. I should have known not to trust a service that doesn't even use proper grammar in a professional and public setting. I had high hopes for this place since I'm a local DTLA resident as well and wanted to support our local businesses, but it's hard do that if they fail to even respond back to you. I figured they were busy so I waited 2 weeks in hopes to get a response, however even after this extended grace period, no word from them. I called the number through Yelp and after multiple rings, the receptionist picked up; I called around lunchtime so maybe the staff was on break. I explained to her my situation and she advised me to text them my ticket and the lawyer would get back to me. As instructed, I texted a photo of my ticket along with a short description of the situation. The recipient was using iMessage and it showed they read it, except no acknowledgement and no response since. I understand businesses can get busy but basic communication and customer service is necessary for it to strive. A simple "no I can't take your case" or "can we schedule a call for another day" would've been sufficient. Unfortunately my experience wasn't good so hopefully others will be. read more

I contacted Jason on May 18th, 2017 to help me with five outstanding tickets I received in my early twenties. Yes, five... I'm not exaggerating. I had a fast car and a lead foot. Jason Miller's business model is to provide cheap, and poor law representation for tickets. A good attorney would take time to investigate the situation and develop a strong defense. Based on my experience, that is not what Jason Miller and his Fix a Ticket does. Instead they charge an affordable amount (I think it was 3 or 4 hundred dollars) and provide very shoddy service. What a waste. I hired them, to "fight" THREE separate violations! I was pulled over and the officer wrote me up for cell phone usage, not having a copy of my insurance with me, and an illegal driving violation. I thought the cell phone at least would be an easy one to argue, it was on my lap, and the officer didn't have a great viewing angle. And, I did have insurance coverage, I just did not have a copy with me. Well, just received the verdict, that after Fix-A-Ticket arduously "fought" for my case, they lost. All three! I'm not sure if a lot of these Yelp reviews are paid or fake, but as far as I can tell, I think I just got scammed pretty good by "Fix-A-Ticket. read more

(not proud of this at all but...) I got a red light camera ticket from Culver City Police for not coming to a "full stop at a red light" before making a right turn. Upon doing some research, I saw that if you didn't acknowledge that you received the ticket, you didn't have to pay the penalty since the camera ticketing system in LA county had been closed some time ago. HOWEVER, I did go onto the court's website to see what the fine would be before learning all this and so started panicking thinking that I acknowledged that I received the ticket. I called a bunch of traffic attorneys and all of them told me that I needed to pay the penalty or else face the consequences. One of them straight up said that the major news sources like NBC, NPR, and LATimes were printing lies about disregarding the camera ticket citation. Then I called Jason and his team...twice. I didn't catch the name of the person who took the first phone call but he informed me that I can just disregard the notice because the camera ticket system had been shut down and I didn't do anything that would warrant acknowledgement. Then I called again the next day (just to be sure ;) and Jason told me the exact same thing. Unfortunately they were not able to dismiss the case. They did get my traffic school and a fine, which I believe it would've been the same if I've went to court myself without spending the $275 with Fix-A-Ticket. So on top of the $275 paid them, I still have to pay the fine of $332+traffic school. Honestly...I'm glad other people have more luck...but luck is definitely not on my side. I thought according to all the good reviews here, my ticket would be dismissed. Only giving a 3 stars just so people wouldn't think they would be for sure be dismissed with fix-a-ticket.
