My phone slid out of my pocket and fell straight into a porta potty (ew!) a couple of weeks ago. After a paramedic lent my friend some gloves, he was able to retrieve my phone, but it was probably in the disgusting water for two minutes. Once I dried it off, my phone shortly turned off and wouldn't turn back on again. I tried taking it to a uBreakiFix shop the next day, but they said my phone had no signs of life, and that they didn't have the equipment to properly fix it. 'Water Resistant' iPhone mini was a bit aged and definitely not salt-water resistant. Pierre got back to me within an hour of my request submission (after hours too!). I was able to get the phone to him right away, and he got me my lost data back within 3 days. Super super grateful for Pierre's professional and quick help. It's so important to know what your options are when it comes to data recovery. I called someone local to Providence, they asked for some details, and they decided it wasn't possible to retrieve any data. If you're reading a review about data recovery, you're likely in a tight spot, and probably feeling some mix of feelings from stupid, to anxious, to hopeless, to slightly optimistic, to irrationally hopeful about your situation, or maybe you're bargaining with whatever God you serve. You're looking for *actual* hope. My iPhone was submerged in water and went dark. I also hadn't backed it up in just under a year... In speaking with Apple, they pointed me toward a particular company that was prepared to charge me "Between $700 and $3900," of which I was verbally told to expect to pay the upper end, between $1750 and $3900 (!!!), and that I should expect 10-14 business days for a turnaround. I decided to do more searching and found Pierre at Fix This. Flat rates, very quick turnaround, and excellent customer care! From my initial reachout all the way throughout the time it took to get my phone repaired [enough for a backup], Pierre was communicative, reassuring, and sensitive to the situation. He inspired a ton of confidence. Dropped my iphone 15 pro max into 10ft deep salt water at a boat dock. water was gross - boat fluid/ oil slick everywhere/murky muddy salt marsh type water. phone was cracked front and back and submerged in salt water for 3 hours before i found it with a magnet tied to a rope that i lowered into the water. it wouldn't turn on. i had 12 yrs of photos on the phone i thought were gone forever. i found fix this electronics on google and reached out after reading other great reviews. they had great communication and we coordinated a time to meet to drop off my phone. i had very little hope it could be saved. only a day or two after dropping off my phone, not only was Fix This electronics able to recover all my photos and videos on to a flash drive, but they actually worked on the phone to the point that it now functions and can be properly backed up to icloud. I was blown away, my phone was cracked so the salt water got in super easy, not to mention it was completely submerged for 3 hrs. and they still got it up and running again.
