Pederson Construction stands our for their quick work, accurate quotes and very fine attention to details. They hold themselves to high standards, and all of their work has exceeded our expectations. In the processes of waterproofing, roofing and re-decking our rooftop patio, they realized that the original location of the drain was not optimized. While we thought this would be a big, disruptive process to move the drain, Pederson construction brought together the necessary plumbing and drywall talent to quickly complete this adjustment with minimal disruption. There can always be unexpected issues with any construction project, but Pederson has repeatedly proven they can quickly and efficiently address issues to get the project done right. Our building suffered leaks that we attempted to patch up for years. But once Pederson did the job right, our building has remained waterproofed for over 5 years. Highly recommended.

It is a perfect fit to our house and looks like it always should have been there. We were so happy with his craftsmanship that we hired him for another project. He built a bench seat for our breakfast nook. He took great care to make sure it matched perfectly with our kitchen cabinets. We also had him remove our picture windows from our kitchen eating area and install gorgeous La Cantina Doors that open to our deck. His work was flawless and we are really impressed with all the work he has done and the beautiful transformation he has made to our home in such a short time.

This company did a remodel on a coop I bought in Alameda…read more UPDATE 10/3 Total Works did come out and re-did the floor at not cost to me. Frazier explained that they can only perform the work that the customer or seller or Agent paid for. I understand that part, but as I told him - no one asked me who paid for my floor - All they see is the end result - which was not good. They did not repaint the trim, which i will do myself - I told him that selecting one color to paint everything is fine, but you still need to prep. There were other issues when the redid the floor - the decorative toe kick on the NEW cabinets came out in the middle and instead of glueing it back they wanted to nail it. I asked that it be glued and they did glue it... but Nailed it anyway...they left tools and trash of theirs and took a tote of mine. Which was quickly taken care of. They were nice enough to replace the gold threshold with silver. The floor now looks fabulous - they tore up the vinyl, put new underlayment in the whole kitchen and put down a new piece of vinyl. I appreciate Chase and his follow up! 1. I needed a gas line put in for the dryer and a water line for the fridge. I got an estimate of $1200. I thought that was high so I asked if I could save $400 by going to the city myself to get the permit. Frazier told me he gave me everything I would need to pull a permit for a gas line. I have the letter of approval from the HOA and a drawing of my kitchen showing where the line was going. The very nice people at the permit department in Alameda told me that I needed a drawing showing all the BTUs, etc showing that it was possible to install a gas line, not a drawing showing where it should go. And they told me that a licensed contracter should have known better. I agree. so I got another estimate from Todd Roberts at Roberts Plumbing and he took care of everything for $675. Now I am having a problem with the linoleum floor that was put in the kitchen. It is bubbling and they obviously did not level the floor becuase I can see the outline or a sheet of plywood that is now coming up and will soon come right thru the floor! They painted everything Beige - walls, ceiling, woodwork..everthing. I am certain that the color was at the request of the previous owner, so I repainted the walls and ceiling, but when I started on the trim and doors I noticed that the new paint was peeling off. What company would paint without priming? I asked my HOA and the Realtor how to proceed and they said contact Total Works and have them come out and fix it. I have an email in to Frazier and will update this when and if they contact me. UPDATE 9-2-14 A very nice man named Chase just called in response to my email adn has scheduled a time to come out and make things right.

This is a review and summary of my experience with Total Works Corp contractors Jorge and Bayardo…read morebetween 3/25 and 3/30. I wanted a bit of work done on my condominium, and sent an email with a list of specific items I wanted renovated. They responded by saying they could give me a quote, but that they would need to see the condominium first. This is a given, so I drove out two hours to the condominium in San Francisco to meet with Bayardo. He was a little late, but that is understandable because the parking in the area is atrocious. Bayardo was a really nice guy, and we went through every item that needed to be renovated. I told him that the renovation was time-sensitive, and that I would like a quote ASAP. He took pictures of everything and promised a quote by that night. The next day, I receive an email from Jorge saying that they can't provide a quote because they need to see the place again. So I ask if he can meet that day, and he's unable to. I ask if they can meet over the weekend, but he's busy. So Jorge suggest the following week, and I hesitate because the renovation is extremely time-sensitive with the HOA meeting coming up. He promises to meet on Monday, so I reluctantly agree. Monday morning, I wake up early and drive two hours into the city to meet Jorge. Less than an hour before our meeting time, he texts me to say that he's canceling, and that he won't be working with me. In succinct, Total Works Corp is extremely unreliable and unprofessional. One of the most critical things in contracting work is reliability-you don't want your contractor abandoning a job mid-contract. If you're considering working with Total Works Corp, please be cautious and consider other options.

I could find many contractors who would do the big ticket items but they don't seem to care about the little stuff that would make my life easier. Martin from Hintz's originally came over to give me a quote for the damaged siding of my house. However, he didn't stop there . He started pointing out all the little stuff he would help me fixed up along with the siding project without me asking for them or pointing out those problems. He was observant, patient and thorough. I'm glad I picked them . Martin and his crew were wonderful. I was so happy with their work with the siding . I started to give them more jobs around the house . 1 week siding project turned into few months of work around the house. Sound proofing wall, flooring , closing a window, reframing window and door, replacing window trims , kitchen cabinet/ counter top extension , electrical sub panel , recess lights, relocating receptacles, installing recess dryer vent box , relocate crawl space entrance , removing water heater, installing pipes for tankless water heater , demo and rebuild a deck, welding railing, concrete paving etc . There is absolutely nothings that this company doesn't do. We did all of those while we were living in the house . They were very careful and clean to make sure our life was not too disturbed by the construction. I highly recommended Hintz's company.

Nightmare: Waking up after a night of wind & rain to a…read morepuddle of water in the corner of the kitchen floor. Scan up, see old, now unused vent from previous gas stove drip, drip, dripping from the ceiling. Remember that we are no longer renters and can't just call the landlord and be done with it. Panic. Dreams of fluffy bunnies & yellow flowers: Call Larry, whom we'd just consulted regarding other minor repairs. The rain stopped that day, so Larry zipped over same day while we were at work, climbed up on top of our roof and determined that not only is our roof in impeccable shape, but that the leak was a very simple fix: change out the vent stacks on top to be "high wind" tolerant. Sigh. Dark chocolates, & sparkling alpine lakes: All told, we've had Larry power wash our outside stairs & reseal them, replace a strip of wood outside of a window, & replace those vent covers on the roof. Throughout the process, Larry appeared quite knowledgeable & offered fair prices. Furthermore, he dissuaded us from other repairs after investigating and finding them unwarranted. May your dreams be filled with bunnies and flowers and chocolates and beautiful lakes.

Wow! I'm so impressed…read more Larry was hired by the building to replace the funky carpeted hallways in the corridors and also to power wash, stain, and refinish the deck off both of our bedrooms. Larry and his crew were always friendly and smiling while hard at work. The crew was so nice they even carted my groceries out of the elevator when I came home early one afternoon and they were finishing up the slate floors. They have done an excellent job.
