On that day they gave me paper copies of their license and insurance information as well brochures for the multiple different paint company options for us to choose from. The job was started within two weeks of our first call (1 week was due to us waiting on other quotes). Our prep work was done thoroughly for both the wood and stucco. Junior was professional, knowledgeable detail oriented and patient. He took his time to explain each step of the process from the extensive prep work to actual painting. Junior also works with a carpenter who replaced a few pieces of fascia boards which were dry rotted on my roof. The carpenter was efficient and did a great job. Junior's Team arrived on time every morning and worked efficiently in preparing my house for priming / painting by carefully masking my windows, patio doors, exterior lighting, etc. before power washing my house. To my surprise, the Team even power washed the pavers around my house which was above and beyond! The Team primed then painted my house with my color palette to detail and perfection which came out amazing! They even helped me install my street numbers and mailbox and did an outstanding job cleaning up at the end. During the entire process, I never felt rushed and received a fair price for the project. He is professional, detail-oriented, and has a great sense of humor. The quote comprehensive and easy to understand, and there were no surprises at any point during the process. The team arrived on time every morning. Their work is meticulous from start to finish. They began by masking off all the surfaces that would not be painted with paper and plastic protection. They took great care of our furniture, moving and covering it carefully. They patched all the cracks and imperfections in our drywall to create a perfectly smooth surface. Then it was time to prime and paint. Our team was highly efficient--I was surprised by how quickly they were able to complete the job without cutting corners or otherwise sacrificing quality. We ended up not liking one of the colors we had chosen, and Junior was able to get the team back the next day to re-paint that room. The finished walls are beautiful. He replied that he was "fully insured". I said that I needed to ask that because there are a number of companies that are doing painting work with worker's that aren't covered, creating a liability for homeowners. Jose left after looking at my house and I decided to go online to the CA State Contractor's License Board to check Samayoa's license status. This company is licensed for Painting and Decorating work, but.....has NO WORKER'S COMPENSATION INSURANCE. He has never carried this having stated an exemption because he has no employees. So.. I sent Jose and email asking him about this, as he did not say he does his painting solo. In fact, during our conversation, he had an opportunity to tell me if he works alone, but he did not. Instead of explaining any potential miscommunication during our conversation at my house, Jose just irritably said, "You can get someone else" and hung up. So...make sure that you verify a company does in fact have active worker's comp if they use anyone and if they don't have employees, make sure that they clearly state this and make sure no one else shows up. I'm just really disappointed in how Jose about this as he was dishonest with me. You can clearly see from reading other reviews that Jose does in fact have other people working with him. Too bad.
