The massage room is spacious and comfortable. The overall setting of the facility is very calming. I had been getting massages from a private practitioner for about 10 years. The reason for…read morethe repost is that this business has recently changed its name, so I wanted to help by leaving my review under the new business name: I received 4 massages from Joe last year (2021). I felt comfortable around him right away, which helped me to relax. One thing that I definitely noticed is that there was very little chit chat during the first massage. Just a little brief chit chat here and there. I appreciated that not only because Joe wasn't too chatty (he and I did chat a little bit here and there, though, which was nice), but because I have received massage from over 70 massage therapists in the Seattle area over the past 20 years, and there are very few therapists that I feel comfortable enough with during the FIRST session to not feel at all compelled to chat with the therapist quite a bit during my massage. I usually want to know who is massaging me! I get curious about the person!! Haha. I can honestly say I've never received massages quite like the massages that I received from Joe. I enjoyed some interesting stretches, some neck work that felt very needed, and some great mid-to-low-back bodywork. Part of my Deep Lomi Style massage was done with me positioned side-lying - my favorite position in which to receive massage. I had checked in advance with Joe via e-mail about his safety procedures, and they're sound. He was able to leave the window open (at my request) during my massages, and he had an air purifier going also. He wore a mask for the entire duration of the intakes, the massages, and the check-outs. The music was soft, not too loud or intrusive, and it provided a lovely background noise. The lighting was perfect for me, I prefer the lighting to be slightly darker in the massage room since it's more relaxing for me that way. Joe checked in about the level of pressure, and he was very open and responsive to my feedback - which he strongly encouraged me to give - about level of pressure, position of my body and head on the table, preference for bolstering, any areas to avoid or go lightly on, type of oil used, and anything else that made the massage experience truly special. I felt that Joe went above and beyond to make sure that I felt cared for and attended to. Usually when I review a massage therapist here on yelp, I explain that I graduated from Port Townsend School of Massage in 2016 - however, I have never practiced massage professionally, since my life ended up going in a different direction at that time. So, I know a bit more about massage therapy than someone who doesn't have this particular educational background. I enjoyed my massages with Massage Reimagined Magnolia, I would receive massage from Joe again, and I would highly recommend this business to anyone who wants a truly unique and special massage experience.

I have a desk job and deal with chronic neck/shoulder/upper back stiffness as a result, as well as some tension in my legs from weightlifting. The location was a bit tricky (I definitely recommend spending some time on her website to read the thorough directions), but everything else was a dream. She was super welcoming, and applied just the right amount of pressure to loosen up my tensest areas. I was also a big fan on her attention to detail to make the experience as relaxing as possible. The hot towels, warm neck pillow, and all of these little touches were PERFECT and brought a spa-like experience to my deep tissue massage. I will definitely be back!

She makes you feel instantly welcome and comfortable in her studio. She's someone who you can easily trust, which, in my opinion, is a really important characteristic to have as a massage therapist. I tend to keep a lot of tension in my back, so I try to get in for massages as much as possible. Tara was intuitive and seemed to work a lot with pressure points. The energy in the beginning of the massage felt calm but intense; kind of like forming the intention of creating the space as a healing space. For about 10-20 minutes I was in the "This is nice, but I'm not sure if this is the style for me" space. About halfway through my hour, however, I realized that I had gotten into the state where I'm possibly asleep but feel more like I'm just so relaxed that I'm conscious but only coherent every once in a while. That tends to mean that I am VERY relaxed, and... well... I kind of love that. My back felt wonderful when I left, and the only soreness I experienced was from where she had worked on my chest (and that's just because it's very tight and I don't think it's gotten enough attention in the past). Tara recommended a stretch that should help loosen that up. I felt like my way home was something of a spiritual experience. Every time I get a massage like this I start really looking forward to finally finishing my degree and having a decent income again!

I had a weird "hitch" in my shoulder and her attention to that issue made my range of motion so much better. She did something with smooth stones on either side of my spine (after she worked on me that relaxed my muscles even more) - just wonderful. I think what I liked the most is that she is a true therapeutic professional...my time was not shortchanged and I never felt rushed or awkward.
