This is a pricey brand and this review is for the store itself. The staff here are super nice. This location is also a lot bigger than the Kits one and it includes a large outlet section discounted at 30-60% off. A wide selection of clothes and accessories. Worth checking out. read more

This review is not about their products but their attitude about the environment, neighborhood and customer service. I had joined their Earth Day event: plogging. Plogging is jogging with picking up litters. However like this event organizer said, as they sells hiking shoes, not running shoes, we walked picking litters around Mount Pleasant area for 1.5-2 hours. We gathered quite a lot of litters and enjoyed walking with strangers. After we came back to the store, they served us nice refreshments (from neighbor bakery and coffee roasters!) and raffle for their jacket. $50 shopping voucher for all participants. What a generous gift! Repeating of pick and walk made me tired honestly but I'm glad they organized such wonderful event. I want to try next time too :) read more

Had the absolute best customer service and product backing of any store I've given my hard earned cash to with the Fjallraven Vancouver store. Manager Matt chose to replace a product that had deteriorated before its time, with a brand new product, instead of sending the original out for repair. Above and beyond my expectations by light years!! Clearly, he went the extra mile to have me as a satisfied customer. Thank you very much Matt!! I've been purchasing from Fjälljäven for over ten years(from different countries) I have to say, really amazing customer service at the Mount Pleasant location(two out of three times at least! Depends on who's working that shift!) My beloved rucksack I purchased from them last year wouldn't close properly so I went to them for help a week ago. They couldn't have it fixed so they let me exchange for a new one. The assistant manager Matt and a female employee (I believe her name is Jenny) provided the most friendly, professional and down-to-earth services in all the outdoor equipment stores I've shopped at. It took me 20 minute to choose a new backpack, they were so patient and helpful! (Not pressuring at all) they gave me honest opinions, help me to choose right sizes, and showed me the highlights of various styles. I love shopping there!! read more

I'm a big fan of Fjallraven's clothing, and walking around the store really brings out the lumbersexual in me. I want everything in there, and I want to be the kind of guy who needs it. We started with the backpacks, which are really plain and simple, but very hard-wearing. Earlier this winter my wife was in the market for a big winter coat and was thinking about buying one by a Canadian company who uses Goose feathers (hint). When I mentioned the company to one of the reps in the Fjallraven store he told about the awful reputation that company has for inhumane treatment of animals. He encouraged me to buy a coat by ANYONE except that other company. Good to know. My wife ended up buying a gorgeous and ethically produced Fjallraven jacket that she loves. And today I bought one too. Now I just can't wait for the weather to get really, really cold! read more

Solid 3.5 stars, resembling their Swedish cousin Ikea in terms of simplicity and costs, but more durable, especially their knapsacks, which they are apparently known for. But they don't have many pockets, which obviously is preferable, and made out of that rugged, canvas look. Located near Martini's. Nice that this is the 1st Canadian store. read more

Bought a Fjällräven Ovik Wallet, September 7th, 2019 at the Vancouver store on Broadway. The service at the time was good. The cashier gave me 20% of the item ,for what I thought was a scuff mark. When I returned home, I noticed some marks inside inside the wallet. I tried to fix this with the wax. Turned out that Adding the wax made it worse. Product could not be fixed. Feel cheated. It was almost like the inside of the wallet wasn't real genuine leather. The inside of the wallet fell apart. I do not recommend this wallet. It was a total waste of the $90.00 a paid for this crap product. This wallet is not made well!! read more

Fell in love with this store since the 1st time. Ok, it is not a cheap product, but you get what you pay for. Love the wesome unique designs, love the water resistant fabric that is not synthetic, love the option we have to add more wax on the jackets and pants to make it more waterproof if we want, love the Kanken backpacks, love the store itself. I bought a jacket in their "eco shell" fabric, which they market as waterproof/breathable.   The salesperson  said it's their equivalent of 3 layer Gore Tex.   I'm familiar with Gore Tex, and was replacing a Gore Tex jacket from MEC. It didn't take long to find out that Fjallraven's "eco shell" isn't in the same league at all.    It obviously has  no effective  DWR (durable water repellent) treatment on the outside.  The fabric gets saturated with water right away. Soaks it up like a sponge.  It  feels clammy, doesn't breathe well, and the rainwater creeps inside the cuffs and up your arms.    Took it back to the store.   They gave me another one, but it's just as bad.   They also suggested I buy myself some  Nikwax treatment from MEC -- which the jacket shouldn't need until it's had at least a couple of years' wear -- not when it's new.   I had some Nikwax at home, and applied it, making no difference to the performance of the  fabric. This 2nd visit gave me the  impression Fjallraven staff  know that these jackets don't really perform in the rain.   They should not be selling them as true waterproof breathable,  equal to Gore Tex.    The jacket is well designed and manufactured -- it's just not really a rain jacket.   I think this place is more of a hipster shop than a real outdoor store. A time wasting experience. read more

Nice little shop, it used to be the old AJ Brooks which basically sold the same products though the new staff seem nicer. They have some really nice, well designed stuff. It's a bit disappointing that some of their most expensive products aren't made in Europe. read more

I was really surprised to see this location in Vancouver as I have heard about this brand for years. They actually opened in April, therefore, they're still young. I was attracted inside the store 'cause they sold their "mini" versions of their iconic back pack. The price tag was $75 for their mini bag and $80 something for the regular size. I went in looking for some pants. A very friendly SA named Matt was the only one on the floor when I walked in. There was one other customer in the store. He greeted me right away and helped explain the differences between the Vidda Pro and the Keb. He then helped me find sizes and advised which size fit me better. Sold. I held onto my pants while I roamed the store deciding which colour belt to purchase. By this time, there were a couple other SA's on the floor and maybe around 10-13 other customers. One SA (I didn't catch her name) came and asked if I needed help. She then rang me through. After my purchase, I asked about when their winter hats would be in stock. She had a feeling they might have a couple in their back stock; and although the store was starting to look quite busy, she asked me to stick around while she went to check. A few short minutes later, she was back with her arms full of a range of colours and sizes for me. I picked one and she rang me up. Turns out it was on sale, but she quickly retracted the total telling me that she was sure it was cheaper than that. She recalculated and gave me an even better price. I ended up paying $51 for a hat that was priced at $99 online. This is my first experience with Fjällräven. I cannot attest to the actual merchandise yet (although I've read nothing but great things), but I wanted to share how impressed I am with the wonderful shopping experience I had at this location. This place is great! Ran in to get a toque as I heard they had 100% wool toques over there (which you can't find anywhere anymore!) The layout is very pleasing, organized and so many backpacks! First I love Fjallraven and Hanwag products but I had the worst experience with their weekend manager Kelby. She was completely unhelpful, didn't listen to my concerns and was very argumentative. I had purchased a pair of Gortex boots there a couple months ago and they leaked water from the very first day that I used them (Gortex boots are supposed to be waterproof) so I brought them in today to see what they could do about them I also mention that I wan't very pleased with the durability of the boots since I had only used them for 20 days and some of the stitching was already coming apart. Instead of listening to what my concerns were and what issues I was having and trying to help me address them Kelby said that the wear was inconstant with hiking and that they were probably leaking because I didn't apply a waterproofing spray on the boots. First they are Gortex and therefore should be waterproof without applying a spray, in fact I was assured by the person that helped me when I bought the boots that they were indeed waterproof with out applying any sort of coating to the boot. Second they were used strictly for hiking off trail (I'm a geologist hiking in the bush is what I do for a living) so the wear on the boots was definitely from hiking but she wasn't interested in listening to my explanation about that and basically accused me of lying. Third they leaked from the very first time I used them so the the kind of wear on the boots really doesn't matter at all and the only reason I didn't return them sooner is because I was working in the bush in the Yukon. All of this was completely ignored by Kelby who seamed to have made up her mind that I wasn't being honest and the Gortex boots were leaking because of something I did to them. She never even asked me what I wanted. All I wanted was a pair of the same boots that don't leak. This is the worst customer service I have ever had and I will likely never return to this store. I guess I will just buy my Fjallraven products online now. read more
