I stumbled across Flagship Tavern and Grill while searching for a place with outdoor dining. When I got to the restaurant I saw that they had a designated area for outdoor dining but no tables and chairs setup. They were only setup for indoor dining but I took a risk and asked if my husband and I could sit outside. To our surprise they were very much willing to move a table and two chairs outside. We were informed they had just sold their old furniture to allow them to upgrade to newer furniture. For anyone interested in indoor dining the inside is massive which allowed the restaurant to easily space out tables. I didn't feel uncomfortable whenever I went instead to use the restroom. The restroom was very clean and seems as though they made more of an effort to ensure the public facility was thoroughly cleaned. The bar menu and food menu is straightforward. My husband and I opted for the a burger with fries. I got the Flagship burger which did not disappoint. Since the Flagship burger is their namesake burger they loaded on all the delicious ingredients. I was completely surprised by how many fries came with the burger because it seems like restaurants give you just a taste especially if it comes with the meal and not an additional charge. The price of the food is reasonable for the area it's located in. I was able to easily get two meals out of my dish. I was able to reheat my fries up in my air-fryer so the leftovers were just as good as when I first visited the restaurant. I would highly recommend stopping by Flagship Tavern and Grill. The staff was unbelievably accommodating as well as very friendly. If you aren't comfortable with dining in just yet they offer take-out and I saw a few delivery drivers picking up food. read more

I'm not sure if they got a new owner or what the catalyst is but flagship is not what it used to be. The food is significantly worse and they are understaffed consistently. The food here used to be the best in the neighborhood but I went in today and they gave less than half the amount of cheese curds they used to. Which is ok considering the cheese curds went from a 8/10 to a 3/10. Our friend really didn't enjoy the fish taco. They give plastic utensils now I guess. They forgot a drink order completely. They had bingo night, and frankly, I didn't think I was going to like it, but I can see why the geriatric community loves it. I had a good time. The place filled up fast, but the servers were ready. They kept up fine, and the drinks kept coming. I love how they had a ton of grilled cheese sandwiches. Would love to come and try them all. I want to first say that the people who worked here were very nice when we made our reservation for a playoff game and while they were serving us. However, they were not wearing masks at all, they didn't follow city laws to check if entrants were vaccinated, and they didn't have half of the beers that they had listed for bottles/cans, and my wife got a Stella from draft that was super watered down, and tasted like they hadn't cleaned their beer lines. We also sat in the back and there was quite a bit of gas smell coming from the kitchen. Stopped in to grab a bite on a Sunday morning. Had to stop somewhere else afterward. I got a bloody, popcorn shrimp, and the Flagship Burger. The bloody was okay. The menu touted a bloody with horseradish, bbq, and a bunch of other stuff in it, but what I was served was clearly bloody mix and vodka. It tasted like exactly that, which was a disappointment, but not as bad as the rest of the meal. The popcorn shrimp was indeed "lightly battered" but very oily and grew soggy within minutes. They were served alongside buffalo sauce and what was supposed to be "Dijon ranch." The buffalo sauce was just that, but the supposed Dijon ranch was blatantly just ranch, and seemingly not made in house. The burger was the second biggest disappointment of our visit, next to the service, which I'll get to. I ordered the meal that shares the name of the restaurant thinking, "it has to be good if it's they're signature burger," and was let down. The patty was not hand-made. It was not seasoned, even with as little as salt or pepper. The toppings (avocado, onion straws, and some special sauce of some kind), aside from the tasteless twice-cooked bacon, were all bunched in the middle of the top bun and smashed together in some tasteless unrecognizable lump. It tasted like almost nothing. The breakfast potatoes that I got on the side were great, though. Seasoned well, with a nice crispy skin, and not dripping with fryer oil. The icing on the cake was the service we got from the bar tender, who would rather hang out with people at the end of the bar then do so little as ask if we need water or check and see if the food tastes alright. She didn't ask if we needed boxes for the food that had maybe three bites out of it. She didn't ask if we'd like another drink. She didn't ask anything other than taking our initial order. If eating food served right off of the shelf at Restaurant Depot is your thing, this is your place. Otherwise, steer clear. Almost $80 well-spent. (I'll give a pity star for the Malort shot we got, even though it cost $7 per pour; great mark up there.) read more

Flagship Tavern and Grill is a good option in the area for some tasty food, some of which is a bit ore unique than the norm. It's also a nice venue to kick back, relax and have a couple brewskis. I've been to Flagship a couple times - once for brunch and once for some drinks + snacks. For breakfast I had the Classic eggs benedict which consisted of poached eggs and ham on top of biscuits smothered in hollandaise sauce. I gobbled up every last bite of this meal! I enjoyed this dish however it came with some "breakfast potatoes" which I wasn't fully sold on. Flagship will sometimes have beer specials and if they do, jump on them! I was tipping back $4 pints one afternoon and they were some good Revolution & Lagunitas options though nothing overly unique. Their poutine is delicious and has a fun spin on it. It's got the fries, the cheese curds and some pork. But if you're looking for gravy, you aren't going to find it in Flagship's version of poutine. Instead of gravy, they use a green chili to envelop their dish. It's quite a spicy touch which I'm usually not into but with the ingredients - it all worked really well. Hands down the best spot in Lakeview. Great food. A wide variety of liquors and beers. I went there for the first time Friday night and instantly felt like I was home, and ended up coming back Saturday and Sunday. The service from every member of the staff from the owner all the way down to the bar backs is top notch and they are very attentive to their customers. If this place isn't a staple in your nightlife routine you are seriously missing out. I will definitely be making the drive from Michigan just for this place again. Everyone was so helpful when my boyfriend came in on crutches, they also have a bazillion games on (and turned the game in that we were there for in particular), and were overall friendly throughout our entire visit. Went to Flagship for trivia tonight and had a terrible experience. The service was awful, the fried pickles came out raw, then were thrown back in the fryer when we sent them back. Burger was not what was ordered, steak sandwich was tiny and was charged extra for tater tots even though the kitchen brought fries. Then they ran out of Miller Lite bottles and tried the Miller Lite Draft which was skunked. And of course that beer was still on the bill even though they swapped it out for another beer that we were also charged for. The manager and owners did nothing and offered to "take care of us" next time, whatever that means. There won't be a next time. We've been going there for 15 years and it's clearly not a place that values their customers. read more

Wow! This place had - at best - mixed reviews. I stopped by on a Tuesday lunch hour and had the pleasure of Cheryl (spelling?) taking care of me. She was pleasant and welcoming during an admitted 'slow time of the day'. Average selection of drafts. Cheryl suggested either the Siracusa Chicken sandwich or the Diner Burger. I went with the Diner burger and was REALLY glad I did! Cooked medium w/2 six ounce patties, it's what a good 'Big Mac' should be! Asked for extra pickles and shredded lettuce (it could have used a bit more lettuce, but I'm a lettuce fan) and it was DELICIOUS! Well constructed and nice balance of the flavors and condiments. The Truffle Fries stole the show! Skin on and cooked to perfection (crispy outside/smooth inside). Really good Sports Bar ambience so can't wait until things are 'normal' (HA! ;-D) to come back and ask for Cheryl and have another Diner Burger w/Truffle Fries! Came here because my parents and there friends were in town. A simple walk from my house, which is great!! They opened up early for the World Cup games. Nicely decorated and has plenty of tvs to watch any type of sports you would want to watch. Even the bathroom urinals have TVs so you won't miss a beat!! Also have outdoor seating on nice days.. We came on a Saturday, they had there brunch menu. I got the breakfast skillet and I would give it about a 3.5 out of 10. Service was pretty slow. My mother got the biscuits and gravy and it was disgusting. Everyone else seemed to like there food. Came here with a group of friends to watch the NBA finals. We made reservations which was convenient since we thought it might be crowded. It wasn't but at least we were covered. Monday special was $6 for wraps/salads (there were only 3 wrap choices and 1 salad choice). The A sign they had even said $6, the waitress confirmed it was $6. On the menu, it even said it came with a side! I got sweet potato fries. What a deal. The food was pretty good for what it was. My BBQ chicken wrap was definitely worth the $6. Plenty of TV screens and seating throughout. My only gripe was that the receipt showed an extra $1 for my side. I thought it was included! I think the waitress should have stated this upfront, especially since I was asking about the $6 special. This wasn't about the extra dollar, just the fact that there was no communication about it, either verbal or on the menu/A sign. Things to note: -Metered street parking. Unbelievable. I'm brand new to the neighborhood and the Flagship's menu looked great so I walked around the corner and sat at the bar. A server approached with a menu and I smiled and said "Hey, how's it going?" She put the menu down didn't say one one word to me and continued walking down the bar, apparently to get a drink menu. How does any service business expect to be successful with absolutely rude servers? She clearly saw and heard me as we made direct eye contact.The minute she kept walking without saying anything I got up and walked out. I proceeded a half a block to the Pony Inn where I was greeted warmly and taken care of like a valuable customer. I wouldn't walk back into the Flagship if was the the last pub in the neighborhood. Don't bother ordering food from here. I got the grilled chicken sandwich and the avocado on it was brown and the tomatos were literally disintegrating. Also the worst french onion soup I've ever had. The soup was grey? Not the rich brown color it should be and the onions were way too ripe. Don't pay extra for the tater tots either. It's the same froze ones you get from the grocery store. This place is less than 15 minutes from my house and the food was luke warm at best. None of this food is fresh and overall poor quality. read more
