My friends and I stopped by Happy Camper in Lakeview on a Monday night for one last drink after being out. The location is great and easy to get to, which is one of the reasons we decided to stop in. The atmosphere was fun, and the restaurant was very quiet that evening. Since it wasn't busy, we expected quick service and were looking forward to relaxing for a bit. Unfortunately, that's where our experience fell short. We were seated right away but then waited about 15 to 20 minutes without ever being greeted by a server. Multiple servers and bussers walked past our table several times, yet no one acknowledged us or even let us know someone would be with us shortly. It honestly felt like our table had been forgotten. Because we were never able to place an order, I can't comment on the food or drinks. We ended up leaving before anyone came to our table. The wait time itself wasn't the issue. We were seated immediately. The problem was waiting 15 to 20 minutes after being seated without receiving any service, especially at a nearly empty restaurant. As for value, it's hard to judge since we never had the opportunity to order anything. However, spending nearly 20 minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge us made the experience feel like a waste of time. It's unfortunate because the atmosphere and location were great, but the lack of service completely overshadowed the rest of the experience. Stopped here before a Sunday night Cubs game and was quickly seated. The space spans upstairs so there's lots of room. The place was adorable and the energy electric. The original table they gave us was tucked in a corner with only 1 TV visible. We kindly asked to be moved to a location with more TVs and they were very accommodating! Our server was great! Not bad! I was not expecting their food to be as good as it was. We only ordered the Loaded Nachos with Pulled Pork on it but it was pretty legit. Like look as this picture man... I'm not sure if it was the drinks talking but I would definitely order that again. Plus on top of that, the bartenders were great. This place is massive and when we arrived, they were opening a new section so we were seated immediately which was great. I loved the vibes of this place, so many fun lights and disco balls!! A great experience and great place to go to! Firstly, I got there a little earlier than my friend but during happy hour, so I was able to order a few drinks. To make sure the food was ready by the time my friend got there, I ordered the Jalapeño Homies and Mozarella Stix for appetizers. Those were great appetizers! They tasted so good. But honestly, all of the food tasted great, which leads me to talking about the Nadene. The honey added on the pizza was so good, great addition. We ordered the tavern style, which is their Happy Camper special. And we ate the whole pizza that sitting. It definitely could've been good for more than two of us but we were both hungry. Also, this bar has a full bar, which got us because we took a few shots as well! Luckily for our first visit, it was pretty chill and not busy so service was easy and modest.
