All was fine in my one month stay until the off season hit. Without warning or a valid explanation, the pool temperature went down to a comfortable temperature in the mid 80's to a temperature they described as 73 degrees. From my experience as a licensed pool operator this would be the temperature without any heating with an ambient temperature in the mid 90's. I was told that without heating the pool temp would be in the 60's. Oh, really? Clearly, this was all an attempt to reduce operating expenses during the off season. read more

It was a location that was easy to get to, which really matters when you've got a four-door Duly with an 8 foot bed with a 40 foot fifth wheel on the back and you're on your first solo trip It was super clean we came in after 4 o'clock, which is when everybody leaves the office and the little gal called us about 3:30 and told us she would leave all of our paperwork in a little slot at the door, which was very helpful and courteous and wonderful service. The pull through were really sizable not a problem to get in and out of with plenty of room. Picnic table was metal and plastic topped and was sitting on cement which was great. It has a fence all the way around the property and it was located a little bit on the edge of town, which is nice. We like those kind of RV spots. The water was really good. It did have a lot of pressure (which the RV company makes mention of so that you're prepared and if you do not have a water pressure gauge, they have them but you would need to be to their office before four when they close) so we just used our water pressure attachment to the spicot and everything was fine. It's a very doable problem. I would rather have too much pressure than not enough. we were just passing through and we spent one night but it was very pleasant. It was quiet, but it was quite windy. That's for sure but I think there's a lot of wind that comes through that area anyway we would definitely stay here again. read more

To be fair this was our first experience in a camper van and an RV resort. We were very happy the bathrooms and showers were so new, amazing and clean. We were also very pleased that without a reservation when we showed up after 9pm and no one was at the office, we just parked, went to sleep and easily paid the next morning. The staff here were incredibly friendly and accommodating. We were happy to have our pick of parking spot to maximize privacy, scenic view and proximity to bathhouse. All the guests of the resort were all quite low key, quiet and kept to themselves with a friendly wave though. I'd be very happy to stay here again if we were ever in the area. We stayed here twice earlier this month on the way to, and back from, Montana. Very nice, well-maintained resort. Clean bathrooms and showers, good hookups, and a nice dog park area for the pooches. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous, keeping us up to date regarding our reservations, office hours, and late check-in procedure. Now, this is a newish resort, and there isn't much shade on the majority of the spaces. The trees just aren't big enough yet to provide significant shade. So you will want to use your awning. The one warning (and the staff makes sure you know this) is that the water pressure is VERY high and you will need to use a pressure regulator. I always use one, so no big deal for me. If you don't have one, they do have them available in the office/store. But the office sometimes closes early, so make sure you have one in hand if you are checking in after 5. We will definitely stay here again when staying in or passing through Kanab!!! read more

During our trip we have stayed at many RV Resorts and we think this one might be the best!!!! It's only 4 years old and it is very well maintained by some wonderfully friendly and helpful people. On top of that the views are amazing and it is far enough out of town that it is so quiet. They clean the rest rooms twice a day and the showers are big with lots of hot water. We come to Kanab every couple of years so we will be staying here the next time we are up here. Highly Recommended!!!! read more

A very nice place. Mary Ann & the staff here are all very friendly & helpful. Our GPS did not take us to the location, so we called for directions. Mary Ann talked us right up to the entrance (mile marker 61 on Hwy 89, by the way.) Entrance drive is gravel as are the fairly level parking spots for you RV. They do have concrete pads with picnic tables at each position. Full hook-ups with 30/50 amps & small trees. Pull throughs allow ample room for your toad, or your fiver, but if you don't need the length, they have shorter back in spots available. Not in the mood to drive your own rig here? No worries, they rent cabins too. Even a house (think lodge) with its own pool is available! Be great for a family reunion. Pickle ball courts, clean showers, laundry room, dog park, clubhouse, pool, spa & a playground. WiFi was great. Awesome views from almost any spot, but I believe the upper level has the best views. Be warned, water pressure is very high. I had a pressure reducer on the water line next to the RV & blew a hose line one night & a water filter the next, before adding an additional one to the hose bib. Bring DVD's, no cable TV in area at all, TV reception was non-existent. We did manage to stream news from Salt Lake City on our iPad. read more

This is definitely the place to go if you want a QUIET vacation. There really is nothing to do around here at all besides sit back around a fire pit or look at the sunrise, sunset, or mountains. The view of the mountains is absolutely BEAUTIFUL but this maybe isn't a place I would bring kids if they get bored easily. Lovely place for adults to relax and not do a bunch! A great discovery on our September trip to Lake Powell. We decided to spend a night at Grand Plateau Resort, one night turned into 2 and 2 into 4. Great place to see and central to the many discoveries we made around Kanab. Sites clean and spaced out, but more amazing were the views from the upper sites. Erica at the front desk was amongst the nicest and most helpful host we have met in our 45 years on the road, and Karen and Scott keeping everything spotless were friendly and helpful. Every staff member we encounter made us feel welcome. We are already planning our next trip and will return again to Grand Plateau. We highly recommend, and is great for big rigs as well. read more

Beautiful RV Park in Kanab, Utah. Staff super friendly. Nice sized dog park with activities for dog. The even have a dedicated washer and dryer to wash dog linens or really soiled clothes. Close to ATV trails. Short drive to Grand Canyon, Bryce, and Lake Powell. Pretty little town as well. We enjoyed the very large hot tub next to the pool. Pool area and hot tub very clean. Had to figure out how to turn on the jets in hot tub, not marked but I found it. You do need to push the button to turn off jets when your done as they do not turn off automatically. They have individual self contained toilet/shower rooms that were very clean. Overall a very relaxing stay. read more

This was a quaint place to stay! We were here for two weeks while we scampered around the area to several of the National and State Parks. Lots of trails to go to inside and outside of Kanab. The campground was easily accessible for big rigs as well. Sites are pretty spacious, all gravel, so for your four legged friends, there is no green here! They do have a pet park, but if your dog is a ball catcher, not enough room. Nice restrooms, cleaned daily, heated pool (spa was out of commission when we were there), and cute little store. Wish they had a small laundry though, especially for two weeks, but there was one in town not far. The people were great, always helpful! Would definitely stay again! read more

We are currently here and will sadly be departing tomorrow after 4 days. The staff have all been so very nice. The park is very well maintained. Sites are level. We are in P-8. The view can not be beat. Our GPS told us to actually go past the road to turn in here. We were coming from St George. Be on the lookout for mile marker 61. The driveway will be on right side between the two flags. They said a google car was here the other day so I hope that glitch will be fixed soon. read more

This RV park was exceptionally clean. The bathrooms were very modern and spotless. The park itself is immaculate and the spaces are wide and very comfortable. A must stay RV park. We will be back. The staff is very friendly and the little general store has a lot of different things that you might need. Like laundry soap, ice cream or T-shirt. There is a large game room with very comfortable leather sofas, and a TVs card table and some games. There is a basketball hoop and a paddle tennis court, which appears to be brand new. read more

We were a party of 21 using Rv spots and cabins. Phil and all the crew there are very friendly and accommodating. The kids had a blast using the pool and playground. OUTSTANDING! It was our first time here. What a surprise. I believe this is the newest RV resort in the Kanab area and it shows. The ENTIRE facility was immaculate, from the bathrooms to the pool & clubhouse and the grounds. The crew works tirelessly to keep the resort looking beautiful. The park is far from any riding trails and is surrounded by private property. Park staff was rude from the moment we pulled in. They have a huge list of rules that they don't advertise and we we're on edge our entire stay about breaking them. For example 10:00pm is usually quiet time but at this park they literally dont allow you to talk outside of your rv after 10. Very strict. And i thought they should make that clear before you reserve. I would not recommend this place to anyone, especially off-roaders. read more

Mixed emotions about this campground. The road leading in is in dire need of repair. It is very rough and dusty. Before we arrived, we looked on their website to see what type of pad was in the site. It said "all-weather surface sites". Huh, new one on me. Well, in reality it's packed dirt/sand with a bit of gravel like crush and run. Interior roads are the same packed dirt/sand and gravel. Said dirt/sand gets everywhere especially when the wind blows which it does most of the day. There is no monitoring of speed so cars are zipping around stirring up even more dust. If this place claims the "resort" title, they should at least have paved interior roads. There is a small concrete patio for the picnic table, and it also lined up with our front door(MH). Our site was mostly level and long enough for the MH and toad. Sites are fairly close and some have more distance than others. I noticed that they do come clean up sites after people leave. They will pick up trash if put out by 10:00 AM. The park is right by busy 89 but it's pretty quiet at night. It does pick up during the day. WII FI either worked ok or didn't work at all. Verizon was4g 4 bars so we used our hot spots for the most part. Satellite would not be a problem. The bathrooms are individual and beautiful designed. The laundry is also a nice area. We didn't use the pool but it looked clean and inviting. The park is near-ish to many attractions - Grand Canyon North Rim, Zion, Bryce Canyon but all are about a 1 1/2 - 2 hour drive. Lots of hiking and of course ATV trails. Pretty view of some very big rocks! read more

First time at the Grand Plateau RV Resort. We stayed at one of their cabins. The cabin was very lovely and very clean. The cabin had a wonderful set up with everything you might need. The queen bed was very comfortable. The RV park, where family were staying, was very nice also. Very clean. We will go back next year for the Kanab HotAir Balloon Festival and we will stay there. I have reviewed the RV resort here previously and if I could give it seven stars I would. The cabins that are on the same property are also ridiculously awesome. They still have that new wood smell to them, they are priced soooooooo reasonably and they look out over the sunrise every morning. Now that I have been in one of these, whenever anyone is visiting me in Kanab, I will suggest they stay in a cabin here. Oh, and the bed is just amazing. I have very low expectations of hotel/cabin beds. This bed makes you not want to get up. Again...7 stars if I could. Oh, and as mentioned in the RV review, everyone who works here is amazing. no matter what you are doing in Kanab and are RVing it, stay at the Grande Plateau RV park, you will not be disappointed! spots are wayroomier than the parks in town. all spots are 70' long unlike the parks in town that are only 60. quiet, roomy and staff was super helpful and friendly. Don't let the other reviews scar you off, they are only nit picky reviews and not warranted by what we experience. Would highly NOT recommend Worst experience camping ever . Our family made reservations for the week of Thanksgiving to stay with a big group at the resort . We had plans to do some off roaring . We had callled ahead to see if off road vehicles were allowed . The gal at the front said yes so everything came with there toys ready for a nice Week . When we first arrived Phil Kesterson pulled up in his little golf kart rudely stating that we couldn't park our trailer in our spot . No hello ,no nice to meet you rolled up harassing us after a long drive to get to the resort . Not friendly or welcoming at all . Little did we know he would continue to harass us for the majority of our stay until we finally decided to leave the day before Thanksgiving completely ruining our Thanksgiving vacation because we had enough of him and his rudeness. Mind you our group took up most of the park since no one was there . Clearly after dealing with him we realized why the park was empty . Ourselves plus the rest of our large group will never come here again . They will continue to lose business as long as they have Phil managing the park . This was our first visit down to kanab and staying in an RV park. The staff was tremendously nice, and hospitable. The grounds are well kept, pool is heated to a comfortable condition that my 3 young kids swam comfortably and both the pool and hot tub are kept very clean. The bathrooms were up kept. They even had a playground for kids. I cannot recommend this RV resort more. Will be coming back and telling all my family and friends! read more

Spacious and clean RV park with beautiful facilities. The water pressure at the hook-ups is high, and needs a pressure regulator. The water pressure in the camp showers is fantastic, better than some hotels I've stayed at. The bathrooms and showers also compare in design and comfort to top tier hotel facilities as well. The pool is also a delight, with a hot tub available to take away the aches of the road or the day's hiking.
