Well, it only took three years of living in Connecticut to find my salon, but finally, I found this place and I'll never look back. Joyce (the owner) is a MASTER at what she does. I had been self-coloring for years and Joyce gave me the most amazzzzing beautiful color (thank you Joyce!!). It took two sessions and was not cheap, but it has been so incredibly worth it. This woman is a true professional and it's obvious from the moment you sit down in her chair. Also, she really cares about her business and runs a tight ship (in a good way). It seems that she is very picky about the stylists she hires vs other salons that appear to hire anyone with a license. I would feel confident going to any of her stylists as they all seem to be on top of their game, and also are just a legit sweet group of people. I have been going here for a few months now, no issues except last visit I had an appointment for 7pm and I had to wait until 7:30 for the stylist to become avail. Because of the inconvenience they put a note in the system next time I go in my hair coloring is on them which was very nice. Received a tour, my coat was taken and hung when I arrived, The shampoo room is very relaxing. I have been salon hopping forever because no one can cut my thick fine hair, which also is wavy now as a side effect from chemo. I called and no answer, but in less than 5 minutes I already had a friendly follow up call after the desk saw my number on the missed calls. They scheduled me that day, with a smile and great service. In the salon was just as good- friendly, attentive service that shows they value their customers whether brand new or someone who's been coming for years. I only got a haircut but was very happy - I have babyfine hair with a TON of cowlicks, so my hair never looks nice and there's always something that just isn't quite right - my new cut addressed all my problem areas and left me with healthy, stylish hair. I went to Flair for Hair after a friend recommended it. I had a great experience from start to finish. The receptionist was very friendly both on the phone when I booked and in person when I arrived. She gave me a tour of the salon and then turned me over to my stylist Maria. Maria did a great job. I enjoyed the "lather lounge" where they wash your hair. The chairs are more comfortable than typical hair-washing salon chairs, and they play quiet music and have a nice smelling candle. Sounds cheesy but it was relaxing. Maria and I talked about what style I wanted. She listened attentively and offered suggestions but wasn't pushy. She did a great job with the cut and style. Afterward she showed me the product for sale that she had used but again wasn't pushy trying to sell it to me. The price was reasonable - $40 for wash, cut, and blowdry/style. After years and years of leaving salons in tears (not good ones), I finally found a salon that was able to give me exactly what I wanted. Alyssa took the time to really understand what I was looking for and thoroughly went over all of my options. At the end, when she was styling my hair, I explained that I would love to curl my hair sometimes but can never really figure out how, so she offered to set up my phone to record her doing it so that I could look back on the video later when I'm trying to do it myself. I go to college in CT and live in NJ. A few months back, in October, I was looking to change my hair to something that I had wanted for a while but never got, as there aren't many good salons in my area at home, just your typical run of the mill small town hair salons. I saw all the reviews for flair for hair and decided to book my appointment with Shannon. I was skeptical because of my past experiences with salons, but I was quickly proven wrong. When I first arrived I was given a tour of the salon by the receptionist, which made me feel really welcome. Me and Shannon got right down to it and she knew exactly what I wanted when I explained it to her! When telling me what she was planning on doing I could tell that she loved what she does, and it really shows in her work. I think my absolute favorite part is the fact that they have a separate room for when they wash your hair. Super comfy chairs to relax in, aroma therapy, spa music, candles, and hot towels for your neck. I then got my hair cut and, again, Shannon did an amazing job. Once it was all dried and styled I couldn't believe how good my hair looked. It was what I had been wanting for so long but could never get. Shannon is a true pro at what she does, not to mention the sweetest person. I always get so excited to go and get my hair done now, it doesn't just feel like maintenance anymore.
