No one has come up with anything new for me in 25 years that worked. Here is what got me upset and quite disappointed.. She thought cutting my hair short (above by ear short) would be the best option. No, absolutely not. I've had short hair in the past. I walked in and the lady on duty, who I suspect is the owner as there was no one else around, asked if I could wait for a little bit while she finished up with another customer (a male of, I suspect, the Korean persuasion, who minutes later had a spiffy haircut). I didn't wait long. I asked for a basic cut, and that's what I got. Shampoo, cut, blow-dry and all took twenty minutes or so, and cost a reasonable $40. Or was it $30? Shit, there go my "Useful" votes. The lady was very friendly and asked me questions about myself as if she were actually interested. She didn't judge me for my totally worthless language skills either. The one thing that I did find pretty funny was that I left the place with my hair styled almost exactly like hers, kind of straight with the ends curled in, and not a whole lot like mine when I walked in. It didn't matter though, as it washed back to normal, and I was happy with the cut. I'm glad I found this place and I'll be back again for East Coast hair maintenance.

Lucky for me, I was able to get an appointment with Marisa for a cut on a recent visit back to Hamden, June 3, 2015. I have the best haircuts from Marisa, she really takes the time with my hair. It can be a challenge to get it just right due to the thickness and natural wave. Now I am trying to figure out how to schedule my next trip back to Hamden to see Marisa again. She is the best!
