Not particularly difficult (the route is pretty flat), bike tours are always a great way to "meet" a city. Why? You're getting an eye level view of the place you're visiting, but people like Danny? They are true ambassadors for a city. It's so clear that he not only knows his stuff, he clearly loves the city - and its history - so much. We did the Creole history tour, but I have ZERO doubt that when we return, we'll see these guys again - and probably do the Culinary Tour next time! And by the way? As he sent us on our way, Danny also did us the solid of suggesting some local joints for music and such. To be honest? The city ought to bottle Danny and his energy - he's an absolute credit to the magic that NOLA really is.

Book it! We took a tour in late May with our family of 8. This was both our first time doing a bike tour and their first time doing a "family with six young kids" tour. Jeff hit it out of the park! They were so accommodating, even letting us borrow his sweet daughter's tag-along bike for the ride. We loved the ride through the historic neighborhood of New Orleans. At each stop Jeff fed us a bit more history in an exciting way that was interesting to all of us, ages 4 to 45 (the 2 year old was just there for the ride). My kids learned about shotgun houses, hurricane Katrina and its impact on New Orleans, the Mississippi River, Cajun vs. Creole, why everything is so colorful in NOLA, art/music in NOLA culture, and many many other things. Our tour ended with a stop at Lorettas, where we ate the best beignets of our trip (and we tried multiple!). The tour was so fun and engaging I could not believe three hours had already gone by. On our two week summer roadtrip, we took a lot of tours. This one was the most expensive tour (which is definitely a factor for us), but I'm so glad we did it. We got to see a side to New Orleans we never would have otherwise. Beyond the tour, we loved the bike ride itself so much I'm now home and scouring the internet for used adult and tag-along bikes so we can all ride around our own city. If you're looking for a kid-friendly activity in New Orleans that's fun for you too, you've found it. Two thumbs up to Confederacy of Cruisers bike tours!

We also lucked out as we were the only two on the tour. We took the 3 hour tour but if we would have realized how comfortable the day and how informative the tour was we would have elected to take 20 mile tour vs the 10 mile. We chose the Esplanade tour and started out at the Mississippi River and toured through the French Qtr, a historic cemetery, City park , and other various NOLA neighborhoods. Bob was very knowledgeable about the history and culture of the city and did a great job of sharing it with us. Don't be feel intimidated by a bike tour the city is flat, the pace is just right with many stops along the way. The cruiser bikes are excellent for this type of tour. Bob gave us great tips on bars, restaurants, and things to do on our quick trip. Highly recommend his tour to anyone visiting the area!!

Derek, our tour guide, was easy going, knowledgeable, and said he never did the same tour twice. We were touring on St. Joseph's day so he threw in a visit to 2 altars, asking us ahead of time if we were ok with that. You start off on a cruiser bicycle with a basket, a bottle of water and helmet. We stopped to get lunch to go from Cajun Jo's, a plain neighborhood place run by a Vietnamese family. Simple food at cheap prices. We then rode a few block to eat lunch in Mr. Lewis's backyard. Visiting Mr. Lewis was a special experience, and hearing from him about his Dance and Feathers museum. He lost all the exhibits except a few to Katrina and as rebuilt it again. He's the community glue who lives for what he does. And for his grandchildren :) The tour is about 4.5 hours long but don't let this scare you. The bike seats are very comfortable, the pace is relaxed with a lot of breaks, drivers are patient letting bicyclists through, and the city is very flat. And Derek and our group of 9 were accommodating of me who fell behind a few times. Payment is in cash only. Like a TripAdvisor reviewer wrote: if you're breathing, you must go on this trip.

We meet up at the Voodoo Lounge, where there is a ticket office in the back room. We didn't live the bar--smelled a little bit like a sewer and the hurricanes were super sweet and kind of weak. But we did have but one get one, so wasn't that upset. The tour was great. We saw some interesting, haunted places and heard the history behind them. We didn't linger too long at any one place. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and funny, although he may have been a tad bit too heavy on the Catholic Church jokes. The tour ended at the LaLaurie house, and our guide shared a story about a little girl on who was recently on his tour who started crying and asked why there were dead people on the balcony. Spooky! I was so intrigued by what he said that I started looking up stories about Delphine LaLaurie and the haunting of the house. She would randomly go off on personal tangents (where she lives, her parents, and other irrelevant details) that had absolutely nothing to do with ghosts or vampires and added nothing to the experience. The worst part was her points system, where she'd give out points if people followed instructions or answered questions. For example, when we stayed on the sidewalk instead of walking in the street, she'd shout "10 points!" and point at each person while repeating it. It wasn't quirky or fun, it was just annoying. I wouldn't recommend this tour based on her alone. After our awful experience we tried another company called Nola Ghost Riders and I'd highly recommend them. They are located at the Voodoo Lounge off Decatur St, while French Quarter Phantoms is at Voodoo Lounge off Rampart St.

There are several different food pavilions, restrooms, locker areas, and areas to sit. There is also a fun water slide, giving homage to the infamous alligators with albinism who have taken residence at the Zoo and Aquarium over the years. This would be a fun place to relax with your kids during one of the summer sessions. My friends and I attending the adults-only Sip and Dip event held on Fridays during the summer. It was very affordable for a private cabana for six with early access. Be sure to reserve your tickets for the event early online as it does sell out. It got a bit crowded toward the end, and they did run out of regular floats, though some preferred the thick floating noodles offered. Every Friday night has a different theme, so there is something for everyone. They bring in Dickie Brennans for the bar, and they were wonderful with decently priced drinks and quality alcohol. They were also creating with the mocktails. I certainly will return for another Sip and Dip either later this summer, if able, or next year. Absolutely worth it!

My first time at Cool Zoo was for the adults-only Friday night party, Sip & Dip. This event is 2X a month during the heart of the summer and features theme nights with DJs and of course since this is NOLA, people get creative and might dress in theme. I went on 80s night and the music was so fun and I loved people wearing neon, 80s tshirts and even hair and make-up. Refreshments stands are spread out among the park and they do a themed cocktail and sell beer, hard seltzer and soft drinks, along with typical concession food and popcorn. I had the cocktail of the evening, the Purple Rain and while it was eye-catching, it was so sweet and possibly strong, too, that I couldn't drink more than 1/4 of it (and it's a huge cup, fairly priced at only $13). The grounds are beautiful with fountains and an area with slides and water features that you'd normally see children dominating (with perfectly good reason) but it was actually fun to see adults having at it on the slides and at the water sprayers. Then there's the lazy river, which is a decent size, warm and full of jets to move you along. We ended up not using flotation devices and swam/walked through it. My main issue and why this event isn't personally my cup of tea: it's too crowded. It sells out but I think they sell far too many tickets. We arrived 15 min after it started and there wasn't a lounge chair nor seat at a table to be found. Cabanas are so cheap here but they sell out immediately ahead of the event, likely the day that tickets go on sale. The only way I'd return was if I could get a cabana. The lazy river is completely packed 45 minutes into the event. We were lucky enough to get a locker (which also sell out so imagine being there without a space to put your things??? how is that fun?). People are in general nice enough to hand over the inner tubes but good luck ever getting a place to sit if you didn't line up in advance of start time. I keep going back between 3 and 4 stars for the main reason that everyone who works here is SO nice. The staff really made everything bearable for me, as they were so welcoming and helpful to point out where the lockers were (there's another set behind the set you initially encounter). I just think this isn't the event for anyone who avoids crowds of people. And the crowd that was there that night were totally fine (at least early in the evening). They just sell too many tickets for me to enjoy it.

They have a cold plunge ice bath, I also wish they had a real cold dip, like they do at Oshner Harahan. The sauna is huge, and so is the steam room. Marble showers, this place is truly unique. It takes a while to get a hang of where everything is, there's so many different places to work out. Classes are rad, I've done hard body and boot camp so far lead by Tony. Who is this man BTW. Me and my wife pay 70 bucks each, which is a phenomenal deal! I'm gonna spend all summer here. Highly recommend this establishment!

From the second you walk in, it feels like old-school charm meets modern-day motivation. The building itself is gorgeous -- think chandeliers, brick walls, and history dripping from every dumbbell. The weight room? Massive. The cardio section? Plenty of options. The pool? Stunning and feels like something Gatsby would've done laps in. And don't even get me started on the boxing ring -- I half-expected to see Rocky training in the corner. There's even a Turkish bath. Yes, a Turkish bath -- where else are you gonna find that? The people were super friendly, and there was this kind of unspoken camaraderie in the air -- everyone's working hard but also vibing with the beauty of the space. I got a killer workout and a mini history tour all in one. If you're in New Orleans and want to sweat in style -- this is the spot. 10/10 will be back (probably sore but smiling).

Where to start with World's End? Is it a park? Is it abandoned public property? Is it private…read moreproperty? Who knows and frankly I don't think anyone really cares. This little patch of land sits along the Mississippi River and the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal, better known as the Industrial Canal. This area offers up excellent views of the City of New Orleans and some front row seats to the river boats passing by. Area has been pup friendly but due to its quite yet semi sketchy nature a leash is recommended. There are a few abandoned buildings nearby complete with mattresses, broken glass, and plenty of drug paraphernalia. Watch your step. Near the end of the land it drops down beyond the levee the a naturally made sandy area I hesitate to call a beach. You can usually find some campers set up in this area but typically they keep to themselves. Overall this little hidden gem is a decent little retreat without going outside the city. Feel free to bring a folding chair, blanket, and some suds for some r&r.

I was impressed how engaging the staff was with the kids (especially because most of them are young). The gym seems organized and it was clean.

Over the past eight months, I have spent time at the barn almost daily after being offered the opportunity to lease a beautiful horse, with all the support I needed to learn, build confidence, and feel safe. One of the things I appreciate most is the lease program. It has been very affordable and has given me opportunities I never imagined having, especially with an American Saddlebred. I have loved getting to know this beautiful breed and look forward to continuing my journey as a rider. The horses receive exceptional care, and it shows. Everyone at the barn is welcoming, helpful, and genuinely invested in creating a positive experience for both horses and riders. I've also enjoyed the trail rides. The horses are calm and dependable, and riding through the park is peaceful and beautiful. Whether you're new to horses or returning to riding later in life as I did, Cascade is a wonderful place to learn, grow, and be part of a supportive equestrian community. I highly recommend it. Barbe Smith has a huge heart and does a lot for the community. Her son and daughter in law are professional trainers and are excellent to learn from. I love my lessons with Wylie too - her 1-1 and group lessons are a blast!

The guide was terrible and completely disengaged from the start. He didn't say a word to us when we…read morestarted the trail and wasn't even paying attention. He was impatient and seemed like he didn't want to be there. If you don't have any experience riding horses, this is not the place for you. (You can check one of two boxes for any experience from riding 0-10 times or more than 10 times.) The horse, Oreo, only wanted to eat grass, and I struggled as soon as we got to the park. We were told both horses were calm. The guide barked instruction from the front of the other rider instead of coming over to explain. He just kept telling me to kick the horse harder and pull the reins harder. I would pull the reins up and the horse would immediately put his head back down to eat grass. I tried multiple times to get him away from the grassy area. I was afraid and felt unstable, so I grabbed the saddle and the guide fussed at me for grabbing the saddle. He repeated the same instructions over again, which weren't working, and eventually came over to me. I ended up being terrified on top of the horse. So, the guide called someone to come out and help. I didn't feel safe at that point and just asked to get down. I ended up walking back and will never get on another horse after this experience. There's no refunds. It was a total waste of time. The other workers didn't seem to believe me when I complained about the guide (big guy named Lane, I think) until the one other rider explained how disengaged the guide acted. My friend has done a bunch of trail rides and never experienced such bad service. Save your money and go do something else. This stable doesn't care about its riders.

What an amazing addition to NOLA! A group of my girlfriends and I went recently for BIPOC + allies…read morenight, and I want to buy a pass now! The place is kept very clean, there are a ton of variations of climbs to do, whether it's your first time or you're a professional. The climbing community is very welcoming and supportive, so you feel so encouraged to keep trying. One of the employees hosted a free "Bouldering 101" class for about 15-20 minutes to give helpful tips and information. Amenities include: multiple walls with climbing combinations, matts all around in case you fall, shoes (to rent if you don't have your own, you have to use specific shoes), free cubbies for your stuff, water dispenser, and a training room. 12/10, I will be back.
