Fast forward to our appointment day, two massages for my best friend and I. I called and asked if they could bring us in a little earlier than the original apt time and that wasn't a problem at all, another smooth process. We arrive, two massages, 30 mins, we get on the phone with the manager and she clarifies some questions. The woman who was working with us in the massage room hands the phone to my friend and says, one of you may be pregnant, and the lady looks my friend up and down. She's not pregnant, not a big deal but it was how it was handled it was not professional at all. So after the insult, they have us get ready/undress and such. They come in and leave the room several times with the door open and we both have no tops on and are not covered since they were massaging our backs. This is while they are holding conversations in the hall way. To say kinda uncomfortable is being light. Massage ends they're super nice, language barrier is a thing I understand. Again not a big deal. But having the manager on the phone to translate and not there is a little chaotic, checking out the lady asks before I use my card how much do you want to leave for a tip. I have had many services done and never been asked...I do tip, that just caught me off guard. But again maybe she wasn't sure how to use the credit card machine? I booked with Valentina and the massage itself was incredible. It's a traditional Thai massage- including stretching, pressure points, and using body weight. We were completely wrong. We walked in and were immediately ushered into our separate rooms. It was incredibly dark and there was no real greeting or conversation about what any focus areas should be. Then I I noticed that on the bed was all but a small towel that was to be used to cover myself while the massage was going on. Did I mention it was also dirty and stained? The masseuse comes in and just starts the session. He does a lot of pressing while the dry towel is on me but no actual massaging. Eventually, he draws back the towel, adds an excessive amount of oil and hardly massages. It honestly felt more like a back rub. I could go on, but ultimately it was a terrible waste of $70 ($60 + $10 tip) and 60 minutes. All it gave me were additional knots and funny stories to share with my boyfriend who was in the next room having a similar experience.

This therapy helped me relax and feel it refreshed my body. Sometimes, I ask for deep tissue massage and Gua Sha. For me once a while after massage, Gua Sha helps me even better and quicker to relieve my muscle tension and pain. This technique effectively breaks up my muscle knots, reduces soreness, and alleviates pain in areas like the neck, shoulders, and back. The scraping motion stimulates blood flow and aids in removing metabolic waste and stagnant fluids, which reduces swelling (when my arthritis been triggered). COCO
