as tourists we loved the ambiance and how Sam (our bartender) made us feel so welcomed! initially we went to another bar that made us feel unwelcomed, but thankfully we found Flamingo Jo's! the food was good for the price! so were the drinks ! the music was a vibe! definitely up to date with the new generation from what i got to know they have been open for a little over 2 years now and it's a family business! Sam was on the floor and doing her thing all on her own ! 10/10 will be coming back EVERYTIME i'm in PCB. read more

Local Perspective - Good Service, Food Was Just Okay We're locals in the Panama City Beach area and decided to try Flamingo Joe's during the off-season while we were out looking for pizza. We found them online and thought we'd give it a shot and support a local place. The restaurant has a fun, kitschy beach vibe and the staff was friendly. We were seated right away and our waitress was attentive. Service was actually very good and our food came out quickly. When we first walked in, though, there was a strong smoky smell, almost like someone had been smoking in the enclosed patio area. It was also extremely quiet. We were the only customers there at the time, which made the atmosphere feel a little flat. As for the food, it was unfortunately just okay. Two people in our group ordered pizza and both felt like it tasted very similar to frozen pizza. The wings were fine but nothing particularly memorable. I had a burger and fries, which were decent and probably the safest choice of what we ordered. While we were there an entertainer came in and started setting up for music later in the evening, which was actually nice and made us think it might get more lively later on. Overall, the service was friendly and fast, but the food didn't quite live up to what we were hoping for. We're always happy to try local spots, but this probably isn't one we'll be rushing back to. Flamingo Joe's charged my debit card twice. The chicken tacos tasted like the chicken was boiled, but the Tuna Melts, Pepperoni pizza and tropical beach dog tasted great, but it took a long time to get them. read more

An interesting hole in the wall across from the beach. After striking out in our quest for a table for 11 at various eateries (due to poor planning), we landed here with frustration. The place has indoor as well as porch seating - very spartan furnishings in a dark environment giving an almost dingy appearance. But...the young woman running everything (bartending, serving and maybe cooking) was hustling (as we quadrupled the occupancy) and the food was actually quite good (burgers, fries, tuna melts, wings...). It turned out to be a very pleasant, albeit slow, experience. read more

Don't waste your money. Went in for one of the cool pineapple drinks, the bartender while super sweet, didn't really know the menu nor did she understand what I wanted. There were only two other people in there and I waited almost 30 minutes for my drink only for it to be wrong. Not to mention it wasn't even good, a very watered down pina colada . This review is unfortunately a disappointing one, which matched an otherwise disappointing Sunday night. The focus this evening seemed to be more on training a new employee than on the customers. Everyone needs training when they start a job, so we waited patiently. We eventually placed our order: a Hawaiian chicken and fries. The order was repeated back to us, and I even heard it repeated twice in the kitchen. While we waited, a man was pacing behind the bar, eating chili out of a plastic container in front of the two other customers, talking about how "she makes the best chili in the world." It was an odd experience. When our food arrived, it was a Hawaiian burger drenched in teriyaki sauce. I ate about half the burger and most of the fries before being asked how everything was. I mentioned that it wasn't chicken. She apologized and offered to remake it as a chicken dish, but after a long day of travel with multiple flights, I was already hungry and had started eating. I told her I'd just finish what I had. She did take $4 off the bill, which I appreciated. Overall, it was just a letdown, especially since we've enjoyed this place on previous visits. Horrible. They don't even have a liquor license and they don't tell you that up front. Ordered 2 margaritas but couldn't taste any alcohol. Asked the bar tender what kind of tequila it was and she said it was water based because we don't have our liquor license yet because we just opened in March. She should have told us that when we ordered. Do not recommend. read more

This is a cool little bar, where you are made to feel at home right away. The proprietor, the lovely Sam, was warm and welcoming. i had a meatball sandwich, which was excellent, and my wife had a hamburger hot off the grill, perfectly cooked, and more than she could eat. this is the cutest and by far best place on the beach. the music, the people, the food, the bubbles. all of it makes this place magical. I got to dine there and had the Bloody Mary which was wonderful but what made my experience top notch was Sam and her daughter. Sam has the coolest kid who will soar through life with such a fantastic personality. Please keep this place open! These kinds of small businesses make the community rich. read more
