The only thing worth going to sharkys for, a photo op with a dangling shark.

Ordered the Hawaiian chicken dinner. The teriyaki glaze is already a part of the dinner at $25 but we ended up with a charge for it. After debating with myself if I should actually care about the $0.50 I decided I did...uff. Add in the AE&P fee that I didn't see disclosed anywhere (menu no, walking up no, table side no, pisser no). Asked the waitress about it... Oh, she must've hit the side item button on accident. Ok, but how many times a night do they do this to customers that simply pay the bill without looking... Noticed tonight, pay attention to your bartender, the wait staff bartender likes to toss his water bottle into the ice bin, the very same ice bin location that he scoops the ice into your glass/cup and mixes your drink with. So, he's grabbing his water bottle drinking out of it, touching the outside of the bottle after touching food plates, money, credit cards, empty beer bottles, empty drink glasses, receipts, bar towels, high fiving joe dirt and whatever else you might see. Then you get to drink all that goo mixed into your drink because of his water bottle he tossed back into that very ice bin and created your drink with it. As a local this is an aggravation the community doesn't need.

Allen was our server and he was super friendly - we really liked him! We sat outside and it was nice to feel the breeze from the ocean - and the view was nice too. The food was okay. The shrimp came out room temp like they'd been cooked and the sat while the mozzarella sticks were cooked. The flavor was good on them, but they weren't my favorite. The sauce is more of a Bang Bang than a sweet chili, but still tasty. The mozzarella sticks were good, but the marinara sauce was nothing special.

The gator bites were bangin. The oysters and shrimp were pretty good too. Our server was very friendly and did a great job. We really liked sitting on the beachfront at night. There was a family doing a few fireworks because of the Fourth of July coming up. That made our experience enjoyable at the restaurant. This was a casual dining experience with good drinks.

The vibe is 100% the reason to come here. It's right on the water, huge space, beach volleyball going, and a legit playground for the kids which was nice while waiting for food. You can actually relax a little instead of stressing over bored kids. It felt like a fun beach hang, not just a restaurant. Service was also great. Our waiter was on it, super friendly, no complaints there at all. Now the food and drinks... this is where it lost me a bit. We got a few apps and they were just... fine. Nothing bad, but nothing I'd come back specifically for. And the drinks...Everything coming in those giant souvenir cups with no option for a normal one. It sounded fun in theory but ended up being like heartburn in a mug for me lol. I'd probably stick to a beer next time.

Shark Bites and Shark Claw. Must haves!

Great Beach spot! There was live music which was great and we found easy seating at the bar even though the place was jam-packed with tourists. Definitely try the shark bites! I was very surprised and pleased but we were unimpressed with the grouper fish tacos. Overall though it was a great vibe!

    Gator bites $19

Great beach views. Huge portions! We got the gator bites appetizer and couldn't finish them. Promptly our meal arrived. Recommend their only draft beer which is local. Only bummer is that they don't do happy hour during peak season fyi!!!

I think the biggest highlight of this place is the playground for kids. My kids totally enjoyed the boat land playground. My kids also finished their meals far too quickly and perk was to have them keep the plate as frisbee. My shrimp was TOOOO BUTTERY .. wasn't a fan. Great vibe and good service.

I'm only giving it 2 stars because our service was good but the food was truly some of the worst I have had. You can tell they care more about quantity than quality. We got the appetizer sampler and everything was cold, the mozzarella stick were just blocks of cold cheese. My partner for the Caesar salad which was wilted and her chicken was dry and overcooked. I got the gumbo and all I could taste was raw flour. Our other party has the shrimp platter which was $26 dollars for plain store bought shrimp and fries. Might be nice if you get to sip on the patio and get some drinks because they have a nice view, but honestly I would say save yourself the 2 hour wait and the crazy parking situation. Not worth it.

    Dried mostly hard calamari.

Had calamari at the bar it had not been cooked recently. For $17 it should be fresh. Not hard to drop a serving and fry it fresh. Service was good and drink was strong. I also like the live music.

Sharky's is one of those fun beachside spots in PCB that's unmistakeable fun as a bar, often having bands and filled with good time. Walking on the beach, the massively sized tiki hut is a real lure. For those coming to the town over the years or lucky enough to live in a vacation spot permanently, it's highly likely that Sharky's is going to bring back some good memories over the years. And that's for a good reason: Sharky's has been around for a while. Having opened in 1986 by Clark "The Shark" Bennett, who was a lifeguard in town, Sharky's withstood three Category 4 Hurricanes and as well as a Category 5. It grew from a small oyster bar into this behemoth of a tiki bar. Since Clark passed away, his legacy lives on and the family now owns and runs the place. The food at Sharky's is all right and generally covers all the beachside classics, can be a little hit or miss, but sticking to the seafood dishes is a fairly reliable route. At times the grouper comes out overcooked, but it is what it is. For a beachfront food spot in Panama City, Schooners and Hook'd are easy winners, while Sharky's has the atmosphere. Sharky's deserves its crown for being the crazy, massive take on a tiki bar that it is and a wonderful place to see a band, dancing away the night with an ocean breeze.

Great spot gulf-front to eat, drink, watch the beach and let the kids play on the playground. Food was good and quick. Plenty of hard working staff. They were nice enough to move our table next to the playground so we could see. Parking a bit tough but you can expect that. Good solid seafood spot.

Really cool spot with lots to do besides eating. You've got sand volleyball and 2 little playground structures for the kids. They've got something for everyone on the menu and cool souvenir cups and a gift shop. Check it out for sure. It's a PCB classic.

as tourists we loved the ambiance and how Sam (our bartender) made us feel so welcomed!…read more initially we went to another bar that made us feel unwelcomed, but thankfully we found Flamingo Jo's! the food was good for the price! so were the drinks ! the music was a vibe! definitely up to date with the new generation from what i got to know they have been open for a little over 2 years now and it's a family business! Local Perspective - Good Service, Food Was Just Okay…read more We're locals in the Panama City Beach area and decided to try Flamingo Joe's during the off-season while we were out looking for pizza. We found them online and thought we'd give it a shot and support a local place. The restaurant has a fun, kitschy beach vibe and the staff was friendly. We were seated right away and our waitress was attentive. Service was actually very good and our food came out quickly. When we first walked in, though, there was a strong smoky smell, almost like someone had been smoking in the enclosed patio area. It was also extremely quiet. We were the only customers there at the time, which made the atmosphere feel a little flat. As for the food, it was unfortunately just okay. Two people in our group ordered pizza and both felt like it tasted very similar to frozen pizza. The wings were fine but nothing particularly memorable. I had a burger and fries, which were decent and probably the safest choice of what we ordered. While we were there an entertainer came in and started setting up for music later in the evening, which was actually nice and made us think it might get more lively later on. Overall, the service was friendly and fast, but the food didn't quite live up to what we were hoping for. We're always happy to try local spots, but this probably isn't one we'll be rushing back to.
