Our family comes to Flanagan's every Sunday, and it's always a great experience. I had the wings and fries, and they were both really good. Blake and Alissa are our favorite servers. They are always friendly, attentive, and make great recommendations. They always makes sure we have everything we need. The food here has gone downhill faster than an Olympic alpine skier. Let's start with the Rib Rolls: last time I came here, which I will admit, was years ago, these were my favorite. This time: they were filled with bucket o'pork from a big box store. They were also lukewarm. It was a busy night, so I thought things would be fresher. Wife got the burger and fries. The burger was decent enough, but the fries were cold and like tasteless cardboard. I got the Dolphin and it was gross. I got the dirty rice and it was dry and tasteless. There's no better day of the week to go to Flanigans than on a Monday!! The free loaded nachos with a pitcher of beer or soda is a MUST try. They really are amazing and this location just stacked them really high with lots of toppings. We also had ribs, can never go wrong with their ribs and curly fries. Favorite restaurant when we're in the area. Joes special is a great deal. (Special only avail Sunday thru Thursday) If you've never been, you must enjoy this south FL wonder. My "usual" is the pasta Caesar + add chicken stickers (medium). This time the salad had a bit too much dressing. Still tasted good. When in Florida! Despite it being a Tuesday night, Flanigan's is busy as usual. Luckily, we were able to get a high top table after waiting only a few minutes. Our waitress was awesome, she was really sweet and made sure we had refills on deck, as well as proper leftover storage at the end of the night. I had a spicy margarita, which was just ok, and my partner had a beer. We started with dolphin fingers, which were hot, fresh and delicious. I love the coating they use on these. For our entrees, I had a salad salad with some really good dressing. I really enjoy their homemade croutons here. My partner had the rib combo with a half dozen wings, blue cheese and a baked potato. His was pretty good! My friend who was with us had ribs. What I really like about this place is the ambience, the really great specials that rotate daily, and of course, the jukebox. I would've loved to stay longer, but it did seem like they were trying to flip our table pretty quickly, so it did feel a little rushed. Whenever people learn I've lived in Miami for more than a year and never tried Flanigan's, they're shocked. So I decided to try them out finally and wow, that was atrocious. Not a single thing from my experience was pleasant. Wait time was long, restaurant was packed, server forgot my drinks and disappeared, and it was freezing inside. I ordered dolphin fingers and blackened tilapia with coleslaw and rice. The dolphin fingers were the only edible thing on there and they were incredibly bland. The tartar sauce was gross, which I don't know how you can even mess that up. The tilapia was insanely dry, the coleslaw was unpleasant, and the rice was mediocre. The theme appears to be Irish but also has random things everywhere. At least the decor is interesting to look at. I don't plan on ever returning. read more

1/5 I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Flanigan's on University tonight, especially because this has always been one of my favorite places. I've been here many times, and I'm used to seeing this location packed. Tonight was completely different. When we arrived, there were plenty of empty tables both inside and outside, and the restaurant was nowhere near as busy as I've seen it in the past. I even watched a large family of around 10 people leave while we were there. Despite the restaurant not being very busy, the service was incredibly slow and disorganized. Our food was brought to the table without silverware, and we had to wait long enough that our food was getting cold before we could even eat it. We asked for napkins for three people and received ONE napkin. Drinks were taking 15-20 minutes to arrive, and getting basic things we needed throughout the meal felt like a constant wait. What makes it even harder to understand is that there were so many empty tables. I'm usually very understanding when a restaurant is packed and the staff is overwhelmed, but that simply wasn't what I saw tonight. The lack of attention and the excessive wait times were very disappointing. I really hate writing this because Flanigan's has been one of my favorite places for a long time. I've always enjoyed coming here, and that's exactly why tonight's experience stood out so much. Another night in the Miami-Doral area, we decided on Flanigan's seafood tonight for a light dinner. We started with the smoked fish dip and chips and it was pretty good! The presentation was nice, and the plate came with ample portion of chips, celery, carrots and crackers. Our waitress was friendly, cordial and helpful with our choices. I decided on the clam chowder, with a side of black beans and rice. Dawn got the dolphin fingers, and tumbleweed onions. Overall, the atmosphere was nice and the restaurant was clean. Everything served was awesome, it was delicious and well seasoned. ***The only hick-up was the water on the floor in the bathroom; however, they told me they would correct it immediately. It takes a lot for me to give a place 1 star but boy did they deserve it. I came here with my parents on a Tuesday night around 6:30pm, so it wasn't peak (Miami) dinner time yet. We didn't have to wait for a table, which was nice. However, we waited for about 10 minutes at the table before being acknowledged by a waiter. About 5-10 minutes after that, a different waitress approached our table and was visibly annoyed. I thought maybe she was annoyed because this wasn't her table and she had to take on an extra table, so I didn't think much more into it. She took our order and walked away. About 20-30 minutes later, my mom's entree comes and we still had not received any of our appetizers. The waitress acted dumbfounded as to how we couldn't have had our food yet and blamed the kitchen. The nachos were cold and stale. The onion tumbleweed was cold. And the garlic rolls were no longer even warm. We mentioned it to her and again, she blamed the kitchen (although, last time I checked, the kitchen isn't in charge of physically bringing the food to the tables but I digress). At that point, I had asked for a refill of my cup of water. She took my cup away and never brought it back. In fact, she disappeared for almost the entire remainder of our meal. As we finished eating, she came back to ask us how we were doing and I told her that she never brought back my water and she, again, acted dumbfounded and said "really?! I gave the cup to someone to bring to you!" (She most likely did not do that). At that point, we asked for the check and some to-go boxes. She came back with my refilled glass of water, which she slammed down onto the table, along with the to-go containers and bag, which she basically threw at us. As we were getting up to leave, we asked the original waiter who spoke to us if that was her assigned table and he said yes. So, I'm not entirely sure why she was so annoyed about having to do her job on a not-so-busy night. We then asked to speak to a manager but, despite waiting at least 10 minutes for one, the manager never came. Honestly, we've been coming to this location for so many years but this experience completely ruined it for us. TLDR: don't go here - the service sucks. read more

This review has everything to do with the weak Caesar salad I was served tonight. The lettuce was almost white, there were 4 haphazard croutons thrown on there, no cheese was added, there wasn't any dressing on it, and the blackened salmon I ordered for on top, was cold. I've made more than a hundred trips to this Flanny's in the last 20 years and let's just say it's not slowly gone down hill. Service is good, the staff are very friendly and attentive BUT the food...? The quality of food is no bueno. Chicken wings are DRY and small, fries are often times over cooked. Burgers are also very dry. It's in a prime location which on the beach with lots of locals and tourists. Unfortunately it's not at all what it used to be. You can't beat the $6.99 Burger for lunch there is no better burger for the money anywhere in Miami I guarantee you. And of course the ribs half rack of full rack are always terrific. A little back story... I live less than two miles away. I've been going to Flanigans for about 10 years now. Lately, Flanigans has failed to deliver in service, customer service and learning how to navigate issues when possibly they have a "special" patron. I'm not saying I deserve special treatment, but Tim aggressively said " You are going to have your ass kicked". Then, his counterpart "Ryan" refuses to serve me my second drink, the second drink wasn't even alcoholic... They both can't beat up a midget on a good day. So that's why I will never go back to this location and if service and customer continues I will never come back so I hope something is fixed fast because if you haven't noticed it's not as packed anymore in that location for that reason entirely. I absolutely love coming here. It's a sports bar and coconut Grove and it is absolutely amazing. I just love how cheap everything is and for the price that you're paying honestly totally worth it. I came here and got some bread rolls and nachos with my friend and it was Only I think $17 for such a huge amount of nachos. I ordered food to take out. Did not feel like sitting in a restaurant for the 60-90 minutes it takes to have dinner inside a restaurant. When I got my receipt I was shocked to see a take out fee. Really? TAKE OUT FEE? What inconvenience did I cause them by picking up the food myself? Another meal sold while their seating remained uncompromised? Did they put gas in my car to pick it up? Well this was my first time eating here at Flanigan's on University Dr, and my husband and I were really impressed with this beautiful restaurant. The decor when we first walked in, was really impressive with that giant shark hanging from above and all the different types of sea life decor, and taxidermy fish, and bone sculptures. It was like walking into a museum! The bar was very beautiful, and the staff seemed very nice and accommodating to our needs. There was like no wait time were you able to sit down no problem. We had a really nice server really willing to help with our questions. My husband got the nachos and he was definitely blown away by the mountain they had served him. It was excellent. Very good chili sauce on it with cheese and all the toppings he loved it. Due to my dairy allergy, I had to remove the cheese and sour cream from my order, but even with that they were still very good. I got the fish tacos really flavorful tacos deficient itself was moist and fresh. I would have liked some salsa to put on it at least and I was very surprised they didn't have any. Well, that's OK. They were still good. Plus the rice and Beans we're very good. The rice was fluffy and they were very well made. I had a very good Mojito there maybe with Bacardi very minty and fresh. You are miles from the ocean and you have pictures of local fish on the wall. I was told that the shrimp are from South America. Come on, go to the local docks and get fresh. We arrived at 7:49 PM for a party of 13, and by 9:07 PM we were still not seated. I understand larger parties can take longer, but the lack of communication made the experience frustrating. I also tried calling staff over several times for updates and was unable to get a clear response. I've always enjoyed coming here, which is why this experience was so surprising. Stopped in to meet up with a friend and grab drinks. The parking lot was busy but we were able to get a seat at the bar. My cocktail was okay, wished it had less ice. But overall I enjoyed my time. This is not the first, nor will it be my last, negative experience I've had at a Flanigan's. Across several locations, I've encountered serious issues--from a waitress giving herself a $20 tip to managers who were even more rude and unprofessional than the employees I asked to speak to them about. Most recently, I ordered takeout and waited over an hour past the quoted ready time, only to receive cold food, missing items, and paid add-ons (side of garlic) that weren't included. Staff and managers were dismissive and unapologetic, and they even refused to remake the garlic rolls, which were rock-hard and extremely dry. This was easily one of the worst takeout experiences I've ever had. Managers Ralph and Rashad did not handle the situation appropriately. Ralph walked away from me without apologizing or following up on whether I got my food, and Rashad came out just to bark at us and only begrudgingly offered us one free entree for the entire ordeal. The three female employees we interacted with were defensive and gave me attitude when I asked for fresh fries and pointed out that the drink was missing. One of them said, "We wait till the end so it's fresh"--something no one had mentioned before. If the food had been ready at the specified time, they would have sent me away without the drink entirely. The pasta salad had no dressing on it. Flannigan's is terrible at customer service and treat their employees horribly, which contributes to how they treat customers. I have been there several times with servers smiling from ear to ear, as it was their last day working for such a horrible company. Culture comes from the top! Other reviews above and below describe similar horror stories that the company doesn't even bother responding to. The restaurant seems to depend on their BBQ sauce and reposts from Only in Dade to maintain their business, but customers are gradually becoming aware of their poor food and service. I'll probably stop going altogether soon, but until then, I will continue to call them out publicly every time I have a negative experience at any of their locations. Do better. read more

Love coming to this Flannigans - most of the time is no wait but that's not the best thing, the staff is the greatest especially our waitress today, Ashley. She is the nicest and sweetest and always comes to check up on my table and get us refills before my kids even ask. Now you guys know that hard to find that around here near Miami and best part is, is my part of town. From the incredible nice and friendly host, to all the bartenders, even the two take out girls. Kenza and Melanie the other day, I ordered at the wrong Flannigans and they took care of making me a new order right away for my hungry peeps after the game. Then I met the manager Bishop that night after the Dolphins game and he was so cool. I wrote a long story on my review and my phone died . Forgot some of the name and too buzzed to rewrite it. When I came today for lunch, Kenza was the host, and it brought back great memories. Told her the story. Met Ashley, who happens to be a bartender and my waitress. Food was great but we left one of our wallets on the table! Came back 15 mjnutes late, no one had turned it in but immediately tried using the cards. I am deeply disturbed by what happened to my husband and me at Flanigan's in Port St. Lucie. On Saturday, after being seated, the server, Nataly, told me the cup I had on the table needed to be taken to the car or placed on the dirty floor. I calmly refused to put it on the floor because it contained sterile medical supplies. I did not explain what was inside to her; she never asked. I walked the cup to the car myself. After returning, I asked the hosts to change my server and send the manager over. When the manager arrived, I explained that the cup contained medical supplies for my terminally ill husband. The manager immediately became aggressive and hostile. She told me it was against the law to bring outside cups into the establishment, and I explained that it would be against the law for her to deny my husband's medication, which is protected under the American Disabilities Act. The cup was already gone to the car, but she continued to antagonize and intimidate me, repeatedly coming to our table in a clear attempt to provoke a reaction she could blame on me. I repeatedly asked her to please calm down and stay away from our table, explaining that her behavior was triggering my PTSD and causing extreme anxiety. She ignored me, clapped her hands while bending over, and spoke directly into my husband's face, spit flying, despite my clear requests for space. Her actions were discriminatory, hostile, and unlawful, targeting my husband's medical needs. Throughout the meal, I had to leave the table multiple times to try to calm down. I experienced a severe anxiety attack triggered by her harassment. Despite her aggression, the rest of the staff, including our server Kilmar, were kind and professional, which made it even more obvious that the manager's behavior was unnecessary and targeted. No customer should ever be harassed or discriminated against, especially when dealing with medical needs. Flanigan's should review security camera footage and hold the manager accountable for her actions. This was humiliating, intimidating, and unacceptable. read more
