Umm now I understand why people stand in line and wait. Its an addiction to the best sandwiches ever! I pulled up 7 mins before they opened and was first in line. Being it was my first time I was lost in thought for which deliciousness to try first. I asked one of the cool staff members that we're getting ready to open what did he think..Right away he let me know as a first timer to go with the beef carpaccio...something my coworker told me as well. I ordered that and why not,added a chocolate chip cookie. They took my info and I waited like maybe 10 mins and my order was ready. As I grabbed my order a line began to form, but I had no worries, I was first. I walked to my car and devoured the cookie. Now Im not one for sweets but u know the saying...when in Rome...lol It came packaged and it was a definitely shareable size. It was crunchy and semi soft in the middle, I appreciate rated this. Wish I would've had some almond milk to help it go down, would've been a perfect sweet moment. When I finally took a bite of the sandwich it was absolutely worth the drive, the money, the parking, the wait...EVERYTHING. It waa full of flavor, bread perfect texture, that aioli sauce was eevrything with those crunchy onions but the beef...let's just take a moment of silence for that cow that provided a perfect meat. We shared two 1/2 pasta dishes that you must get; sweet corn and the lobster pasta. Oh my baby Jesus, it was that good! We had the watermelon salad which was fresh, flavorful and unique. Holy smokes, what a perfect and unique sandwich. I truly find not a single flaw about it. The decor is elegant and modern, the space is large with high ceilings, the bar is packed with lively conversation and the whole place has a very positive vibe! At the bar, "Paz" created a couple delicious cocktails for us. I forgot to notate the parking zone to pay the app, the hostess actually went outside to find the zone number for me. No rush to close my bar tab and move to table "take your time" they said. Once at the table the server assistant immediately asked our water preference. Leddy the amazing server introduced herself, asked our names and passionately described the restaurant's concept and chef's vision for the menu. Empty plates spent no more than 90-seconds on the table before being removed. Extensive wine list. We eventually chose a couple glass of wine to have with dinner. Please see dish pictures and descriptions. Each plate presented just exuded freshness, quality and the chef's "obsession" as described by Leddy. Each bite enabled us to distinguish every ingredient masterfully. A farm to table type use of microgreens in all dishes. The seafood used in our entrees was just perfect. My lady surprised me by ordering the carrot cake and I wisely said "yes dear". The rum toufee? was worth licking the bowl to not leave any behind. No, I didn't lick the bowl. Haha. Come with me to Būccan, located in Coral Gables. Būccan recently opened its doors in Coral Gables. I tried their sub shop a few weeks back and was intrigued by their restaurant menu. To start, we had their Short Rib Empanadas and the Italian Burrata. The Empanada is a small bite packed with flavor and juice. I will definitely have this again. The Italian Burrata wasn't my favorite, but it was fresh and would be enjoyed by folks who like balsamic dressing. Their mains are meant to be shared with the table. We had the Sweet Corn Agnolotti and the Grilled Wagyu Short Rib. The Agnolotti was delicious, creamy, and light- a must-try. The Wagyu Short Rib was decent; it had good flavor, but the texture was not as tender as I expected. For dessert, we had the Chocolate Cake. This cake sets the bar high for chocolate cakes: rich in flavor, moist, and airy. It may look like a lot, but it is not overpowering. Overall, Būccan was really good. The service was very attentive. The drinks were excellent; the Būccan Old Fashioned was my favorite. I will definitely be back to try some of their other pastas. read more

This famous Palm Beach staple opened its doors this month and it's been a hit since day one! I should say it opened its windows, rather, as this lunch-only spot consists of a walk-up window without any tables. The 'ventanita' concept is well-received throughout Miami but Buccan Sandwich Shop does things a little differently as patrons do not have direct access to the window or to the counter. You make the line and place your order with a staff member, pay, and wait for your name to be called to retrieve your order. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the food is ready after just a short wait, which allows you enough time to go for a walk around the block or so. The sandwiches are famous for a reason! They are very good... The bread is very good. The flavor is very good. The price is higher than a regular sandwich because these sandwiches are special, and they are VERY GOOD! I have tried the Beef Carpaccio, Buffalo Chicken, Cuban, Cold Italian sandwiches, and the Burger (only available on Wednesdays). The house-made potato chips are the perfect accompaniment and they taste fresh every time. The ginger lemonade has a nice kick. The cookie is soft and has just the right amount of flaky sea salt to accentuate its sweetness without overpowering it. Undeniably yummy. Definitely would reccomend ordering ahead of time as it gets super busy and it's just a ventanita with no seating for now, especially on the weekends as it's pretty crowded. Overall a bit overpriced for a sandwich but their lunch combo sweetens the deal with the drink, homemade chips, + cookie included. My order was messed up on accident so it took a little while longer and they threw in an extra cookie, was really nice service. I am so so happy that Buccan is in the Gables. What a welcome new restaurant to Miracle Mile. This has been a beloved restaurant in Palm Beach for years, so I knew it would be super great when it arrived in the 305. I was lucky enough to have gone to friends and family about a month ago, and since then I have been back to have drinks at the bar, and also dinner at the bar. All visits have been excellent. Now that I've been a few times and tried a lot of things, I feel like I can give a good review. First of all - Buccan has created the drink of summer - the Watermelon Martini. It is one of the best cocktails I have ever had - vodka, mint, lime and watermelon. Easy to drink, and super refreshing. From the smaller plates, I love the hamachi tiradito. I have also enjoyed the oysters - they are island creek which are my favorite. The sweet corn agnolotti is amazing and I love that you can order pastas by the half portion. Great to be able to order multiple things . We also enjoyed the roasted carrot salad and the tuna crisp. Both were great. Our bartender, Javier, was super attentive and friendly. The bar area is a good size, and has comfortable seats. When I went for friends and family I did try the cookies for dessert and let me say I still think about them. Overall, I think Coral Gables needed a restaurant like this. One that delivers great food, at a fair price, with the vibes to enjoy a night at the bar or a quality meal at a dining table. It is huge - I think the capacity is around 400 people, and yet a month into being new it is always packed. I love to see a full restaurant, and I am so happy to have Buccan nearby. Can't wait to try more things on the menu. This is located on the Mile, so if you are driving you can find street parking. The long wait is over. The highly anticipated opening of Buccan, the wildly popular Palm Beach favorite, has finally arrived. Chef Clay Conley was in the kitchen and there was a lot of excitement surrounding last night's May 22 opening. It was well deserved... the place is fantastic! The Palm Beach location has always had a great atmosphere... casually sophisticated, a bit tighter, and more bustling. They've turned things up a few notches here in Coral Gables. This is a much larger venue with multiple spaces and a beautifully executed design that feels polished and metropolitan. The large bar is beautiful, inviting... the open kitchen is spacious, the dining rooms flow seamlessly into one another, and the lighting is dramatic... almost theatrical. It's a perfect backdrop for the fine chow and libations that are about to come. The menu closely mirrors Palm Beach, featuring familiar favorites like Tuna Crisps, Duck Confit, the Hot Dog Panini, Grilled Wagyu Short Ribs, and more, with dishes rotating throughout the seasons. Tonight, I started with the Florida Corn Tart with aged Beemster, tomatillo, and basil corn salad... fantastic. The Short Rib Empanada remains a favorite, packed with richly flavored short rib. The Sweet Corn Agnolotti is an absolute must... perfectly prepared pasta with a silky-smooth ricotta filling and intensely sweet corn. OMG. My first time trying the Wood-Grilled Half Chicken with charred cabbage slaw, peanuts, coconut rice, and jeow som dipping sauce. Don't overlook this dish. The chicken was perfectly cooked... moist, deeply flavorful, and very impressive. For dessert, the Olive Oil Cake with crème anglaise and seasonal fruit was excellent. While this was the restaurant's first night open to the public, the kitchen was already firing on all cylinders... every dish landed perfectly. The wines by the glass are well chosen, and the wine list has plenty of gems. Service from Christian was top-notch... a seasoned pro. His assistant, Jeff, also did an excellent job. In fact, every staff member we encountered, from the moment we entered until we departed, was impressive. For a restaurant to already be operating this smoothly on opening night is a real tribute to Chef Conley and his management team. But after witnessing the excellence Buccan has delivered for the last 15 years in Palm Beach... it's not entirely unexpected. We enjoyed the Tuna crudo crisps, florida corn flan with corn /tomato salad, short rib empanada, Braised Rabbit Tagliatelle (pasta) , Cashew e Pepe (pasta) for dessert we had the petite chocolate chip cookies (house made). The pastas are also house made and you can order a half or whole portion which is genius ! The tuna was incredibly fresh. I loved the music , mix of old school and new stuff. The layout of the restaurant is the best I have seen in a while. It's a collection of 5 rooms that flow into each other all amazing decorated with different art. My other favorite thing was the Restrooms (weird I know) at least 6 separate rooms and looked after by an attendant. Great place for couples & larger parties. Florida Fusion Feast Buccan was a smash hit. Clay Conley is a proven commodity in South Florida and his Miracle Mile restaurant raises the bar for every other neighbor. Food: from the first bites of the Short rib empanadas and the hot dog panini, it was clear that depth of flavor had been achieved. The meat in the empanadas was soulful, perfectly seasoned and moist. From Argentina we went to a NYC mashup of a hot dog that reminded me of a Reuben without the dressing. So good. The shaved salad was a surprise hit as I'm not usually a fan but the hit of heat was welcome and the dressing was refined and not overly creamy. The sweet corn agnolotti was sublime with a well thought out bit of crunch alongside the smoothness of the corn filling. Conley continues crushing corn. The short rib was excellent though it was sold as a lomo saltado equivalent by our otherwise excellent waiter. And, the fries that accompany the burger are the very best version of fries. Crispy and not groomed in vats of salt. Well done. My companions raved about the carrot cake as well. Decor: Effective. It's not over the top. The bar is lovely and deep. My only nit is the noise but that was courtesy of our table. I rarely do this but sitting at the bar there is one booth right near the kitchen where I got seat envy. Look for it. Wine: The list is well composed with hits in every category. Again just a small issue is that pricing is high but there are sub $100 winners in there. Solid newcomer. Enjoyed Buccan. Nice to see they've finally opened as it seemed like they were under construction forever. I've tried both the sandwich shop and now the restaurant. Both are very good. For entrees, our table shared the 1/2 chicken, steak and swordfish large plates which were all delicious. The chicken is made with a fish base? which I found odd; however, it was a pretty good dish, but didn't find it outstanding. The steak and swordfish I felt were more flavorful. We also tried the short rib empanadas which were good, but would have preferred a baked option instead of coming out fried. The highlight in my opinion was the strawberry dessert. So flavorful and fresh. Unique and bursting with flavor. I would get that again and would try more of the smaller plates next time. read more

Our dining experience at Buccan was unfortunately soured by the service. Most of the food we tried was tasty and we'll return again in hopes of a better experience. I ordered the spicy marg and was disappointed as it seemed pre batched. A margarita should be shaken, at the very least. The grilled carrots salad was one of my favorites but, the temperature was off and should be equalized. The hot carrots mixed with the cold greens & lentils were not a good mix. Our waitress seemed extremely rushed while coursing our order and wanted to swap out our plates & flatware while we were still visibly eating. When we asked for the check & our credit cards were taken, 40 minutes passed before she returned. We sat & watched as all the tables around us finished eating & left. When she finally dropped our check, she said that she made an error, ran one of our cards twice, & a manager had to correct the error. She could have apologized or given us a heads up instead of vanishing for 40 minutes. read more

My friend had me try this sandwich in West Palm and I was instantly hooked. They just recently opened in the Gables as well as the actual restaurant. The sandwich shop is a window outside where you place an order literally on the sidewalk and then your name is called to be picked up by the window, all outside in the Miami Heat which is why I give it a 3 star on ambiance. I wish or hope that they'll add a few tables outside with umbrellas or maybe a small space inside just for the people picking up the sandos. The lunch box is $25 but it's all worth the price and the hype. Box comes with sandwich, pickle, chips, chocolate chips cookie and a soda of your choice. I opted for the carpaccio sandwich which is the one I tried in West Palm with the balsamic and crispy onions and I can't say enough good things about how delicious this sandwich is.
