Terrible company, do not rent from this place!! They begged us to move out early, and then they refused to give us the remainder of the months rent. Over $1000 they kept, and stated it was our choice to leave. Then they charged us $450 to clean the carpet in one bedroom. Don't fall for the trap of renting here, these people are horrible. read more

We rented from this company for 9 years & would have continued had our property owner not passed away & the place sold . My husband & I did have issues but they were resolved quickly & efficiently. We also paid our rent on time every month .As well as when moving from one property to another at the end of 1 lease we did as our lease required 90 day notice in writing. Hello, If you experiencing inadequate service this from realty agency, I advise you contact the local news station. If you have documentation, pictures, etc. of your legal contract requirements and you have been met them send this information to the local news station for investigation. My family member had to vacate from the property since lease was going to be renewed since owner wanted to sell the property. She cleaned fridge, carpet, etc. and the leasing agent inspected said the place was in good condition except some minor cosmetics repairs. Now the owner wants to keep the entire deposit and the leasing agent does not agree but they released the deposit to the owner anyway. So now I will be sending all the pictures, text messages, etc. over to the local news station for investigation. read more

Tl;dr Don't ever EVER rent from these guys, they do not care about their tenants. So let me start by telling you about how I moved in. I took over part of lease of a town house and it was a right pain to get my name on it. Now I know that's probably cause legal business business business but when you have to drive 30 minutes at 10 at night to an unknown home in order to get your key that's some shady business right there. Now luckily once I moved in the place was pretty nice...until something broke. Like the AC pretty much every single year during the summer. Hope Florida is not to hot while you're waiting for a month for these guys to get someone out there. But the worst part of it all was when a water system broke in our living room. For THREE MONTHS we were trying to get someone out to our house to fix this thing and repair it. And what happened when they finally got there? They said we now have a bunch of mold! No duh! So what did they do after this? They said "Yeah we'll let you out of your lease if you'll move out in less than two weeks." Not "Hey since this is our fault we'll set you up somewhere while we get this fixed." but just a get out. Honestly when I told my aunt who was a lawyer about this she was ready to get on the phone and sue someone because it was an absolute outrage! I was homeless for over a month (because shock you can't find a place to live in a week and a half) because these guys wouldn't come and fix this problem! Honestly I'm almost glad it happened because with how they were treating us I don't think I could've lived there any longer. read more

We just finished renting with them for almost 5 years and overall they were acceptably attentive to the few problems that developed other than the AC which went out 3-4 times for a period of several days of course in the warmest part of the year and since we moved in it needed to be replaced. They did replace the AC after 4 years!! Now I would have given them 3 stars because they did keep our rent low, only raising it $100 in that time but for the fact that they INVENTED REASONS TO KEEP MY ENTIRE DEPOSIT!!! Regular wear and tear things like cleaning the carpet, blinds which were broken when we moved in, cleaning the back yard which we NEVER SPENT ANY TIME IN Due TO SNAKES HEAT ETC many other flat out invented reasons were given to keep the deposit. We're a family of 4, kids are teenagers and my wife made sure the house was clean when we moved out. I can see maybe keeping a few hundred for wear and tear but I've NEVER in 48 years had a company invent reasons to keep my entire deposit. We are middle class, made decent money and not low life people. The bottom line is they screwed us and knew we had zero recourse. Beware, you probably won't get your deposit back so think of it like a tax you pay which Is what I've done. Just another example of unscrupulous A$$h@ts. read more

My family and I rented a home with FLA Rent for 10 years. During those 10 years, Geoff & Rebecca along with the rest of the staff were nothing but polite, helpful, courteous and kind. We have so many good things to say about this company. Whenever there was an issue with something in our home, all we had to do was ask or fill out a service request and it was taken care of immediately. My property manager was Erin until she left & she was okay. Our new property manager was Lee & we were left to deal with things ourselves. The company as a whole is very unprofessional and has no regards for the tenants. We called & filed online several times throughout the year for work orders & appliance replacements. During the COVID-19 pandemic they were rude & unprofessional in their conversations with us. Robert Vazquez was the worst out of all that we can in contact with, he tried to show our house while it was still occupied (which is against their policy) & refused our request on masks when entering the house. read more

Terrible service!! We placed our deposit on a house for rent in Longwood over two weeks ago, with the promise that the the current tenant would be out and the house ready by March 6th, as the ad states. Well, it wasn't. Our family had to stay in a hotel for two weeks. The night before we were supposed to sign our lease, we did a walk-through of the house (there was a guy painting who let us in) and the house was filthy! Smelled like complete dog! We gave Kenny, the property manager, the benefit of the doubt and assummed he would have it cleaned. Well, he didn't. And told us that WE could have someone clean it. WHY would we want to move into a dirty house????? Also, the ad stated that there was a screened back porch and included all major appliances. There was no screened back porch and the washer and dryer was gone. Upon calling Kenny, he informed us, in a very RUDE tone, that a washer and dryer are not major appliances - since WHEN?!? If I could rate this company with negative stars, I would! If you decide to do any business with this company, make sure your property manager is NOT Kenny! read more

I should have known this was a set up, this company took a application fee from my husband and I knowing that they had other applications in the process for the same house. Whatever you do, do not use this company!!!! At first before you have a signed commitment with them they will be great and very attentive to your needs. However, after this when you need them they will do nothing for you. I recently rented a unit from them in Orlando, this unit turned out to have many problems that I was not told about. When I tried to call my representative, Kenny T., he never, ever, picked his phone up and when left a message never returned those phone calls. After calling Jeff, the 2nd in command of the company, he also did nothing to help out with several of the problems I was having in the apartment I was renting, but must have told Kenny because any type of professional relationship I had with him turned even more passive-aggressive. Needless to say I grew very dissatisfied with this company and moved out immediately, unable to finish out my lease. This unit I rented had an extensive amount of rodents, roaches, and, in the heat of summer, a failure of air conditioning, among other issues. Flarent blamed the HOA of this community, the owner of the unit, and their contractors for not being able to correct these issues. I find it incredible that Flarent has no other reviews on Yelp, this is due to either them deleting any users input, such as this, or their company is having no other customers with any sort of opinions, positive or negative. I don't comment on Yelp all that often but felt I had to on this experience. read more

I wish I would have come to Yelp first, I never would have dealt with this company had I read these reviews first. I too was told that my credit score was too low and that the Credit Karma score that I found was incorrect. I too was told that I would be required to pay an extra deposit due to that. I too found issues with the property upon the first walk through and of the last time I visited the property, many of these issues had not been dealt with. When I decided to not move forward with this property and advised them of this, I was told that my security deposit would not be refunded. FLA Rent has horrible customer service. In the fall of 2010, I was billed $55 for lawn service. The lease states that landlords are obligated to send a certified letter stating any noncompliance with the lease, which includes lawn maintenance. We should have received a letter that allowed us 7 days to rectify the problem before we were obligated to pay any fees. However, the property manager, Kenny, admitted he did not send a letter. Ha had called us, giving us less than 24 hours before a lawn service was sent out. When I asked for a refund of the money, & pointed out that FLA Rent did not comply with their own lease, my request for refund was denied. Also, in January of 2011, we noticed that the carpet in the master bedroom was soaked & notified Kenny. He gave minimal effort to identify the source of the leak. Three months later, a roofer easily identified a leak, finding that water was running down inside the walls from the roof. I had to call for several days to find out the owner agreed to replace the roof. But nobody could tell me a projected date. When I asked that a tarp be placed over the leak to prevent further water intrusion, I was refused. The property manager, Kenny, asked why I was giving him such grief. I was finally able to get Kenny to agree to a tarp & he also said the roof would be done before it rained. I questioned that, as Florida has such unpredictable weather. At this point I asked for a mold test as well. He refused. I called the owner of the house after finding contact information in public property records. He had only been aware for a couple days of the problems, but said he would look into mold testing. Ten minutes later Kenny called me, screaming into the phone that he was going to evict me for contacting the owner. I stated that the lease does not outline that I can't contact the owner, & asked him to stop shouting. He didn't & hung up on me. A few days later we were able to get a maintenance man to come out, & when he cut into the walls there was mold inside. FLA Rent told us that we would have to move out & I requested paperwork to say our legal obligations to the lease would be nullified & that we would be refunded for rent that we had paid in full for April but were not using. We vacated on April 20 & the next day I was notified that an inspection had been done & the security deposit was able to be picked up. I went to the FLA Rent office & agreed to the claims of $85 that were made upon the deposit. A week after receiving the deposit, Kenny called me to say that they would be withholding a portion of the rent that was to be refunded, as they didn't think the carpets were steam cleaned. However, I steamed them a day before we moved out. The refunded rent was coming via check from the owner. I told him that they couldn't make a claim upon the security deposit after it had been refunded & the president of FLA Rent told me that the security deposit & rent were interchangeable. However, this isn't the case, as their lease states that you can't use the security deposit as last month's rent. So it can't work the other way either. They told me to hire an attorney because they were taking that money out regardless. This entire process with FLA Rent has been us, as the tenants, doing everything we were supposed to do. It has been an uphill battle. Kenny is extremely unprofessional. Of the 8 times I visited the office after we discovered water intrusion, Kenny was there twice. One of the times I had spoken to him 4 days prior, & when I dropped the rent off at the office & asked to speak with him, I was told he was on vacation for 2 weeks. He didn't mention to me that any efforts to fix the leak would be weeks in the future due to his vacation. Also, I called him one morning & told him I'd be stopping by the office that day to get our termination addendum signed, & he agreed. Then when I made a specific trip across town to the office just for that I was told nobody knew where he was. They are horrible. read more

They knowingly rent property that is in forclusure. They also rent home that have second home riders. (Mortgage clause that forbids renting or being in any property management pool) I have the documents to prove it. Then when you catch them, they will berate or ignore you. -- read more

STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!! Even if they cleaned up their act and all their rentals are "good", their attitude is terrible and if you ever find your self in a bind like mine they are going to screw you till the cows come home with a smile on their face laughing as they cash your checks. If I could give them a negative rating it would still be to high. Let me start at the beginning. Its the fall of 2009... My existing rental went into foreclosure- the sheriff came and told us we had 30 days to leave. My husband and I scrambled to find another place. Enter FLA rent. I specifically asked Kenny BEFORE I signed anything what would happen if the same thing happened with one of their rentals. He told me not to worry it would never happen in in any event I would get my security deposit back along with last months rent. I asked for it in writing, he said it was in the lease. I wasn't even in the home long enough to unpack- barely 90 days when here comes the process server - These crooks rented me a home in FORECLOSURE! As if that wasn't bad enough, the house had a second home rider that barred it from ever being rented and basically my presence as a tenant nullified the mortgage! So lickty split- I call Kenny. I call him again, and again, and again, and again. I send email after email after email trying to get my money so that once again I could move- Kenny stone walled me. So I go over his head to the owner Geoffrey Hall trying to get my money back. I even went to a seminar held in orange county trying to figure out what to do. ***Remember- my family was already out several thousand dollars from the loss of a security deposit and last months rent from the last rental that went under- not to mention what it cost to move. PLUS the additional deposit, 1st and last months that I had paid to these crooks. In total it was over $6000!** I can't say anything about Geoffrey considering he never answered my emails or calls. Instead he forwarded everything to Carol his wife. Do you know this sorry excuse for a human being had the nerve to be rude to me? Carol was down right NASTY in email and over the phone- Like it was my fault they hadn't read the mortgage paper work (didn't the owner have to provide that before signing with FLA rent?)- my fault that this owner that by the way lived 8 states away wasn't actually paying their bills. Long story short after telling me everything that was wrong with me as a person, (yeah- that's what she did, I had never seen or spoken to this woman before this ordeal and she had all kinds of opinions of me that she felt she needed to share. Wasn't that sweet?) she kept my money and stonewalled me. Just like her little pet Kenny. Judging by her reaction I decided to do a little digging. do you know over 60% of their "rentals" were in some stage of default? Every thing from lis pendens to full blown foreclosure. I rented from this company for a year and upon the renewal period of our lease we ultimately decided not to renew our property manager promised so many things that were not fulfilled ie finishing the fencing so that my dog could stay with us and not resolving serious pest problems . our property manager would Send over a handy man at odd times when we never requested one i literally woke up to him poking around our back yard at 8am unannounced when it was only two young women living there something is not right with that if you ask me. Why could he come unannounced but not when something was actually wrong . I was rented a house with a horrific mold and roach infestation then denied pest service on a regular basis and told that the mold was not there... When it clearly was. I had friends who did contracting who told me the mold was painted over. We had a huge septic problem and our house stunk so bad that we couldn't live there for days the land lord denied that it was a septic problem so we had to come out of pocket for this to be resolved. I eventually moved out a month before my lease was over and turned responsibility over to my room mates property manager faxed good tenant reviews about me to my new apartment and then when we didn't renew in May he contacted me asking where the rent was (the lease was over ) and then threatened an eviction on my room mate. How can you evict someone whos lease is over ?! I will never deal with them or refer anyone to them this company does not care about their tenants their houses are cheap because so are their services. read more

We were never even given a fair chance. Discriminated against. First, we scheduled an apt to view a house with Jonna & on our way there she tells us, another potential renter would see the house at the same time. What!? Not okay. I felt VERY rushed through my showing. However, we loved the house so we decided to apply. This property management company pulls credit reports from at least a year or two ago which is obviously NOT current. My husband had credit issues at least years ago & has since greatly improved his credit. He obtained a second job to supplement his income & pay down debt but that didn't matter to these people. They didn't even believe he made the kind of money he did or that he even worked 2 jobs. They didn't ask to see pay stubs. Who does that?? they were trying to use a score that was not his current one. As a result they wanted a double deposit which was a lot of $ up front. Any problem they found not to approve our application, we had proof for but they didn't want to hear it or let us make our case. They didn't even ask for our rental history, bank statements, or pay stubs to verify income, nothing. They asked for nothing else. I never rented w/ people who didn't look at the applicant as a whole not just a very old credit score. Even when his credit was bad, we didn't have this much trouble renting. We've also never been asked to pay double deposit. $100 application fee down the drain. Tony, it must be hard to believe someone could work 2 jobs & make more $ than you, huh? I have never been so disappointed with a business. Not only do they not respond to phone calls, they are never willing to work with you or be there to help repair something. I have dealt with Robert as a property manager and had multiple appliances break and need repair. We went through a service contractor that the owner had purchased and could only come on weekdays 9-5, conveniently during the times that I work. One would think that the Property Manager or the company would send someone out to be there while it is repaired (isn't this their job?), but no, not only did they not send someone out, when they promised they would, they chose to ignore my call and then have to reschedule. The office is slow and does not respond to emails regarding receipts or rent payments. Don't count on them to do anything. I work with children with more responsible habits then them.
