ok, i just came back from London today and had to share about this place. after such raving reviews and dying for a good steak on our trip, we went around London looking for this place because we were too ghetto to buy a new sim card for our phones. FYI. this place is only a stone throw away on a street right off of the main Regent Street. another hint is when you find Brook Brothers on Regent, that tiny street corner is Beak street and walk another 30 seconds and you will see Flat Iron on your right. the restaurant is super, duper tiny with 3 levels. they take your name and number and text you when your table is ready. very helpful! what i noticed the most were the million asian faces walking in and out of the restaurants. apparently, this place has been heavily blogged by other asians and they all seem to love it. so, our wait was over an hour and we burned it on Regent and rushed back once we got the text. our family all ordered their steaks and the price was GBP10 just as advertised. the cut was small and served on a iron/wood tray with micro green salad. the sauce, fries or other stuff are all extras. the service was quick, good and the food was pretty good. remember, i am a serious foodie from the US, the land of super good food at a much better price than London. so, i am pretty tough on rating anything as good or even great. this place is good because of quality of food, service and price. on this occasion, i ordered some cream spinach as a side to my medium rare steak. the meat was tender and it was correctly medium rare. it is usually over done and most steaks are rarely done correctly to order. BUT, the spinach had a piece of hair in it on my second bite. YIKES!! i told our server and she handed it well and offered another side. if she had been a jerk or dismissed it, i would have reacted accordingly. she brought over her manager/owner to let me know how sorry they were and they reduced my portion of the bill to make up for the problem without me having to even ask. they handled it very professionally and i was very glad they knew how to take care of business. before i walked out, i thanked the manager and told her i really enjoyed the experience. as you can read from my other reviews, i do NOT compliment easily or give out high stars easily. this place seems to respect their customers and does not seem jaded by their success. kudos to them for doing a great job!!! :-) read more
