Having visited several of Gordon Ramsay's restaurants before--including Bread Street Kitchen, Gordon Ramsay Burger, and Hell's Kitchen--I came into Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill in Mayfair with fairly high expectations. Thankfully, it lived up to them. One thing that immediately stood out was how intimate the restaurant is. It's probably one of the smallest Gordon Ramsay venues I've visited, which gives it a cozy atmosphere but also makes for a different experience compared to some of his larger restaurants. The service was memorable, although not in the way I expected. When we sat down, I already knew the Beef Wellington was the signature dish and was prepared for the advertised 45-minute wait, but I wasn't quite sure what else to order. Our waiter enthusiastically declared, "I've got this," started saluting us, and proceeded to recommend--and seemingly order--the Beef Wellington, T-bone steak, and steak tartare before fully confirming what we wanted. We had to flag him back down and explain that we probably didn't need an all-meat feast. After some adjustments, we swapped the T-bone and steak tartare for gnocchi, Caesar salad, and green beans. In the end, those changes turned out to be the right call. The Beef Wellington was everything it should be--perfectly cooked, rich, and worth the wait. The green beans with pine nuts were unexpectedly one of the highlights of the meal, packed with flavor and executed beautifully. The gnocchi was also excellent, with a great texture and comforting richness. By the end of the meal, everyone at our table agreed that this was the best meal we had during our time in London. That's saying a lot considering the city's incredible dining scene. My only real complaint is the restroom situation. The bathroom is tucked behind what feels like a hidden doorway, and there are very few signs directing you there. Overall, Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill delivered exactly what I was hoping for: outstanding food, memorable service, and a meal that stood out among everything else we ate in London. We accidentally made a reservation for breakfast versus an evening dinner time reservation (apparently open table can struggle moth military time). The staff was super kind about the mistake on my part and got us in short order despite being busy. The space is small and we were glad they could squeeze us in. We popped over to Lucky Cat to have a cocktail before dinner and came right back. We had a few appetizers and then split the burger. It was delicious. However, the couple beside us had the Wellington and I have to say I wish I had waited for that instead. It does require time to prepare, but they managed to eat it all and raved. We had dinner here tonight. It is a very casual atmosphere with a nice mixed menu. The cocktails were not great. I had the Espresso and Baileys martini. It had an unpleasant taste that was kind of artificial? Not sure what it could have been, but it left an aftertaste. My husband had the Rosemary Paloma. He said it was "okay". My son ordered an arancia soda. He got a glass that was 1/3 full of orange liquid and a bottle of club soda. He said it was so bitter he couldn't drink it. Drinks were 2/5. For dinner we had the Wellington for two and my son had the burger. The Wellington was DELICIOUS! Incredible. 5/5. The mashed potatoes were 2/5. I make better mash than that. Disappointing. And surprising. My son enjoyed his burger. 4/5. For dessert we had the bread and butter pudding - my husband loved it. (No clue what it was! I didn't try it.) 5/5 I had the sticky toffee pudding. My wife and I had a terrible dining experience tonight where we were not greeted at all and when we sat down we had to wait 20 mins before this very unenthusiastic waitress asked what we wanted and took our order. We ordered the Beef Wellington and a Vegi Maki and Stone Bass Ceviche. We told the waitress we already had too much to drink and we didn't order any wine and she got very upset on her face. The starters tasted ok. The beef Wellington came after 45 mins and it's was as advertised. We didn't get a chance to finish the plate before the waitress came running and took our food away without asking us if we are finished. How rude!!!! We then asked for our check and the lady disappeared we have no idea what happened to her as we waiting over 40 minutes for our bill !!! We tried to fly down a couple different servers but they didn't want to help us. So finally this server helped us and tag on a 15% mandatory tip for crying out loud. LOVED it here. I'm not sure what the reviews are about but perhaps this has taken a turn in the recent months. I came with the goal of having the beef Wellington but was on a time crunch and they certainly delivered. Ordered medium rare with glorious side of potato puree, it was perfectly cooked and flavorful with crisp and flaky puff pastry and a nice red wine sauce accoutrement. To start, we tried the sour dough bread and caeser salad. Bread was lovely and warm. Caeser salad with a jammy egg was a perfect surprise but so so good. For dessert, had the sticky toffee pudding. STP definitely required a sweet tooth and a love for caramel but I enjoyed it. Special shout out to the guy making the drinks last night because each mixed drink was superb - well balanced and oh so flavorful. Next time I'm around, I'd definitely come back ! read more

The location is lovely. I was drawn in by the name thinking that if this restaurant is in the Gordon Ramsey chain it must be good. Well. Chef Ramsay should pop by unexpectedly some time because I think at the rate this restaurant is going it won't be around this time next year. They have the benefit of being attached to the hotel so likely to get first time but no repeat business, which is not sustainable. While the server was a lovely charming man, he was stretched too thin and unable to take care of his tables. I asked for a glass of champagne really cold. I saw it sit at the bar for over 5 mins before they brought it to me. The shrimp starter was tasty. Nice and hot. But it was downhill from there. The steak was chewy and the dull steak knife they gave me could not cut the meat. I ended up leaving over half the steak. The spinach was fine a tad greasy but good enough. I pushed my plates away and there they sat until I left even though I saw plenty of staff walk by here and there yet no one thought to pick up my discarded dishes. With so many excellent restaurants and pubs particularly in Mayfair this was a wasted meal. And btw very expensive. Avoid this place. Better to order room service in a pinch. I would have given it 1 star but for the kind server. read more

On our first night in the country we walked to the local Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill and were thrilled with everything!!! Our server, Khalid, was so attentive and kind. Two of us split a ribeye and it was tender and delicious while the other two split a cheeseburger (teens). We also ordered 2 servings of the bacon Mac and cheese and green beans. We cleaned every plate down to the last French fry. We ended the night with 2 chocolate tarts (the first which got devoured embarrassing quick) which I would order again. We are honestly considering eating here again during our 1 week visit from the states. After a week in Paris this has been the best place we've eaten in Europe. read more

The bar tender was kind and prompt and always made sure that I had a drink in front of me! I got the fish and chips and they were incredible! We just had the loveliest week-long stay at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square -- one of the highlights was definitely enjoying the Gordon Ramsay Bar and Grill throughout the week. They had the most incredible breakfast spread every single morning, and we even ordered room service a couple of times. Not only was the food incredibly fresh and high-quality (you could really taste the difference!), but the staff was fantastic. Ella Kamila and Maffer Olivera especially took such great care of us. Stopped in for a late lunch and wow, we were blown away! After having only fast casual in London from Gordon Ramsay, this was a real treat. The service from delivery of food, sommelier(at lunch!? WOW), and fond farewell dessert after telling our server we were on honeymoon made it such a special experience. The wine selection is top notch and reasonable. Slow cooked pork ribs fell off the bone and had delicious sauce to complement it. Definitely try also the Mac & Cheese(perfection) and Fried Chicken(Heaven!) Food was good, not what we were expecting with Gordon's name attached. Staff seemed annoyed with our presence and could not wait to get us out the door. After having a long day where our hotel had to be changed due to a gas leak (explained to host), we had to alter our reservation. This saw a shift in the staff's treatment towards us, seeming that they were "above us" and annoyed at our presence. The staff asked if we wanted tap or sparkling water, which we responded "tap," with no indication of a cost. The staff proceeded to set another bottle of water down after we finished our first. Got the bill and these two bottles of water cost £20 !!!! We feel that we were taken advantage of (it was myself and my brother, American college students, dining) and would not recommend. Wow, maybe it's watching Gordon on TV, maybe it's expecting excellence from him, but to be honest, this experience fell flat to my expectations. You see, the night before a friend dined at another Gordon Ramsay restaurant in London and couldnt stop raving about it. The Good: 1. The wings were exceptional, the sauce was delicious. I don't typically eat meat on a bone, and they were tender and delicious. 2. The cheeseburger was amazing. Smoky flavor, tender, good bun and I got a side of the wing sauce to dip my fries. The Negative: 1. Service was SLLLLLLOWWW - I saw my Manhattan sit on the bar for at least 10 minutes before getting delivered. 2. Our empty plates sat in front of us for at least 20 minutes without being cleared. The whole experience was unusual, as we expected great service. The food was spot on, and by appearance it seemed that they had more than enough staff working to provide the service that I'm sure Gordon would want provided for his guests. read more

I had mentioned that we were with a couple that had recently gotten married, and this was the celebration of that, the service staff seemed ambivalent. We had two orders of the beef Wellington for two and honestly the beef was a little tough, but everything else seem to be pretty good. Came here on a Saturday evening, and wanted to get a Gordon Ramsay restaurant in during my trip. It's not a super fancy restaurant of his but you'll feel that it's special enough to feel fulfilled. I went for one of Gordon Ramsay's signature dishes: Beef Wellington. I was told it was going to be a 50 minute wait, which was fine, because I wasn't amazingly hungry yet. It was worth the wait, as the presentation was rustic, yet impressive. 500 grams of filet is quite a bit and you could definitely feed 3-4 people with this. The beef was tender and the added sea salt on top does give it enough flavor. The puff pastry was crispy and the mushroom duxelle added flavor. The jus included was smooth and also added flavor. I'm not a huge fan of filet mignon, because of the lack of flavor, but I can't deny its unequaled tenderness, which was apparent here. The mashed was smooth and savory. The sticky toffee pudding was rich but not cloyingly sweet. There's a good amount of sauce. The ice cream went well with the semi-soft dessert. The portion is pretty substantial. Service was okay but not impressive. Didn't really get a whole lot of attention and the rotation of servers that came provided very little continuity. read more

This is going to be an odd review because we didn't stay long enough to order the food. This review is completely about the vibe and atmosphere. We sat down in a table that was in a tightly spaced row of tables. It wouldn't be any problem to listen to your neighbor's conversations. What made us decide to leave was the ambiance and vibe of the place. It had all of the charm of an Applebees, Boulder Creek, and TGIF. There were paper placemats on the table that served as the menu. We were looking for an upscale place to eat and were excited to hit a Gordon Ramsay restaurant. It felt like a place where only tourists would eat. It wasn't the dining experience I was hoping for. I wanted the energy of the city and a mix of luxury and clientele. So to sum up, the food might be fantastic, the prices were expected and the waitstaff was attentive. It was just a vibe/atmosphere situation. I just thought it would be more cool and rich feeling. Steakhouses in New York have a more clubby feel. read more

I had to give it one star to post a review. I love all Gordon Ramsey's shows so was excited to find three of his restaurants in one hotel in London. I found the bar staff at the steak house rude. My last night there I went to the Cat to have a glass of champagne. The bar staff was not much friendlier, the restaurant smelled like burnt fry oil that I will never get out my dress. Not only the food was delicious, but the experience was incomparable to any other restaurant. We got the chef's table and BT made sure it was special from the minute we got into until we left. We ordered the Caesar salad and burrata for starters, and they were delicious. For our main meal we got the Fiorentina, and all sides. The steak was great, and it was done perfectly. I highly recommend the peppercorns sauce on the side. Although full, we didn't want to miss on desserts and got the toffee cake - didn't regret it, make sure you leave room for it. We found this place after a tour. Our trip was really excited and went into it knowing we'd pay a decent price for the experience but it's Gordon Ramsey, and felt like we HAD to go. Our waiter was amazing and very kind. The drinks were decent, unfortunately the main reason we went was so disappointing. The food we order left so much to be desired flavor wise. We were overcharged for 2 bottles of water we never received. Unfortunately don't see us returning to any Ramsey establishments. This is for the Park Walk location. I'm not sure if it was the quieter night or what, but do not come here expecting the Gordon Ramsay standard. I ordered the Beef Wellington (medium rare) and it came out a little bit uneven in terms of the puff pastry so the bottom was overcooked and cracked, but the top was pretty good other than the layer of uncooked puff pastry. They happily took it back to make it right, but then clearly overcooked it and added even thicker puff pastry to the point that it was hard to eat due to how tough the meat was. The manager just resided too the fact that I couldn't be pleased and basically wanted me to leave...I mean I would accept it if it was any other establishment, but this was a £110 entree. Having been to several Gordon Ramsay restaurants, my expectations were high, but they were not met, unfortunately. For one, the dishes available were not the same as the menu listed on OpenTable, and that menu was different from the website, which was also different from the restaurant. I ordered the short rib burger, which was honestly not impressive. It was overcooked/dry, and the flavor was just a bit off. Though I will say that the side of mac and cheese we got was absolutely incredible. The service and ambiance are also nice, and the restaurant is certainly cozy. But it's just nothing special. Perhaps I need to splurge for the pricier items next time, but overall, not sure I would return. read more

My husband and I sat at the bar and had the buratta small plate and the beef wellington. The food and drinks were amazing, but the absolute best part of the night was the bartender!! Service was great. Staff was very nice. The steaks were very overpriced and hard to eat. They add a 20% gratuity that doesn't even go to waiters and then ask you to tip them. I ordered the 10 oz ribeye, my wife ordered the 10 oz sirloin, and my father in law ordered the 10oz sirloin. We all 3 ordered the steaks medium rare. We clarified with the waiter that medium rare is very pink in the center. All 3 steaks were very over cooked with visibly little to no pink in the center of the steak. I am from a place where you don't send food back and just suck it up and eat it. To their defense we didn't ask for another steak and attempted to eat the whole thing without complaint. I COULDN'T even finish my steak it was so hard and chewy. I pulled the waiter to the side and explained to him that where I'm from we don't complain about the food and just eat it if we get the wrong order or it's not as good as we expected but it was so bad I couldn't finish it and wanted to let the chef know how bad it was so no one else's dining experience was as bad as ours. Received no feedback. For over $450 USD(without tip) I felt very ripped off. Especially eating at a prestigious Chef Gordon Ramsey restaurant with amazing experiences at his other locations. I am giving this experience 2 stars for the great service and the bone marrow mashed and topped with bone marrow gravy was amazing. The steaks were well below par. Very disappointed. read more

The food at Gordon Ramsay Bar and Grill was very well prepared and the service was attentive without being overly intrusive. I ordered a 10 oz ribeye steak with sides of fries and heirloom tomatoes. The steak was prepared exactly as I requested--medium rare. The sear was nice and the meat had rested so it was juicy. The fries were crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. The heirloom tomatoes were a delightful surprise. There were three different types of fresh tomatoes dressed in oil with small dabs of goats curd and olive crumbs. The large amount of oil was unexpected, but the tomatoes did not eat greasy. The goat curd and olive crumbs added necessary salt to the dish. My friend ordered the burger and he thought it was delicious. We finished with the sticky toffee pudding which was excellent. The restaurant surprised me with a birthday dessert which was a slice of rich brownie. If I may be so bold as to offer two suggestions for improvement, first, entry to the restaurant was a mystery, since there was no sign on the exterior or formal area for the front of house on the interior. The restaurant presents as a strange side room to Chef Ramsay's Lucky Cat restaurant. A more complete experience would have a formal entrance or direction to enter from inside the hotel. My second suggestion would be to put some garnish on the steak plate. The steak was literally served alone on a white plate. I appreciate spartan/reductionist style but there is a difference between thoughtfully spare and plain, and the steak looked very lonely on the plate. Nevertheless the steak was impeccably prepared. I fully understand that this was a steakhouse, but a half slice of grilled tomato or a side of broccolini would have added dimension and color to the plate. These are minor suggestions that would make the experience more complete. I would not hesitate to return. read more
