Company no showed first time and when they set up the second attempt they were a day late to start. Damaged part of the road with their truck and didnt finish it, did a poor job with the rebuilt part of the road, its built up so high we can no longer get to the parking area to get the mail without causing damage to cars or the road and they have left their equipment parked for almost a MONTH!. the never picks up his phone and voicmail is always full. We contacted this company on 8/13/20 Seemed ok. Was supposed to go do an estimated for my company! No call no show 3 separate occasions!! Every single time I talked to Jerry, he had some excuse. The last time he blamed his son! Said his son was the Estimator and was gone for Labor Day it was his Job! When we called him he said he was in Sacramento and would call us on his way, and so we stayed home all day to make ourselves available. We never heard from him. After soliciting bids from 4 other local paving companies, we decided to go with Flat Iron Paving for a few reasons: The bid was reasonable (almost half the cost of our highest bid), and due to the fact that Jerry actually took the time to explain exactly what was going to occur during the process. During the installation the crew was extremely friendly and willing to address a few questions and concerns. These guys delayed our job on two separate occasions then, when they did come, they painted marks on our driveway went to "lunch" and never came back. Now my job isn't completed and I have painted marks on my driveway and they won't return my calls. read more

Jerry and his crew are great to work with when you can get him to show up. He did an awesome job on my drive way. Made me a promise to seal it after 3 months. I have called and spoke to Jerry no less than 5-6 times and he has never shown up to finish what was promised to me. I would still recommend him and his crew, just beware that the sealing in the end may never happen. So I will be contracting with another company to come seal the driveway and do the next portion of my driveway needs. read more

I contacted 3 other contractors for repairs needed on 1000 ft. of driveway. Two never called back and one provided a quote, but never followed through. The driveway needed repair before winter. Contacted Jerry Golobe of Flatiron who responded back within 24 hours, came out and reviewed what I needed done. He provided excellent recommendations and never tried to "oversell". His quote was less that the other contractor so I gave him the job. Work was completed to my satisfaction. Jerry and his crew (great guys BTW) finished on-time and as promised. Like with any contractor, make sure job requirements are understood before proceeding. Jerry is "old school" and provided very basic written detail. But overall I have no problems recommending Flatiron or using them again for projects based on this experience. Very happy with the quality of their work. read more

October 21, 2015 Flat Iron Paving started to asphalt our driveway and it has never been completed/sealed after numerous contact attempts on our part. Jerry Golobe (Owner) has promised several dates asking us to keep our driveway clear of vehicles (which we have) and on all scheduled dates Jerry Golobe or his son (JJ, his estimator) or workers have never shown up or called to explain why appointments have not been kept. Property owner has been calling, emailing, leaving voice mails and sent copies of emails to 3353 Bonaire Rd., West Sacramento,CA. Patience has run out when we are able to make contact all we hear is what has come to our attention to be unbelievable excuses. It's now August 2016, almost a year later and work has still not been completed. Think wisely before using Flat Iron Paving and do not pay them in full until the work is complete. Beware of scams of left over aslphalt for a good deal. Our good deal turned into $6,600 which I'm sure we could have found cheaper elsewhere. We lost a lot of money on this! They never give you a written estimate, demand cash and you have to beg for months for a receipt. read more
