We started with the Crab Fries, yum, but a little less salt would be perfect (but that's just us) & my The Hills Club Sandwich had juicy & tender chicken. This place was a lot better than I even expected. Service was amazing, everyone was friendly and several servers checked on us and filed our drinks. The bar tender had a great smile and greeted us as soon as we stepped in. The hostess had the mostess! The blackened salmon was amazing! Cooked to perfection and topped w crab ( yummy) and lobster! The crab fries were bomb- even the Cajun sauce on top was delicious. Just enough- not too much cuz I hate over sauced and soggy food. The brownie was really good- not too sweet and topped with raspberry and caramel sauce. Had to ask for more sauce because there was hardly any on it . I've probably driven past this place a million times, but I'm so glad that we finally stopped in! Everything from our service to our main course was absolutely wonderful! I ordered the hot honey chicken sandwich and my husband got the rattlesnake pasta, both were amazing (and spicy! ). The food lives up to the name!! Food is so flavorful and delicious. We ordered a couple starters: Buffalo Cajun Wings and Biscuit Chicken Bites. Definitely get the chicken bites!! The bbq sauce is a good balance of tangy and sweet. For entrees, we ordered Apple Bourbon Chop, Honey Jerk Chop, and the Bourbon Glazed Salmon. The portions are huge! Our sides were cheesy grits and mac and cheese. 6/5 on deliciousness for all of these things!! Chef is doing a killer job back there with the menu - keep it up! It really pains me to give this place a 3 star because while the menu is outstanding, the service and overall vibe was a little off. We were greeted with a friendly host and server, but they never came to refill our waters and when we were ready to pay it took us so long to see our server again that I had to flag someone else down. A new place in Jacksonville -- gotta give it a shot! First, let's talk about the food. The food was very good. Everyone liked their food and the portions were large -- especially the Kid's meal. We had the Cajun Chicken, the Cajun Salmon, Shrimp and Grits, Kids chicken and a chicken sandwich. No one really had anything to say bad about the food itself besides the blackened seasoning being a tad spicy for one party member. We were able to ask them to tone down the amount of seasoning while ordering to minimize it. Let's talk about the rest of the experience. We had reservations for 5pm on a holiday weekend and were able to get seated very quickly, no wait. That was good. The bad was that we didn't get silverware until after we asked for it when our food was delivered to the table -- about 50 minutes after ordering which is honestly pretty bad. The wait staff was extremely professional and pleasant. The decor was pretty bad -- it is readily apparent from the inside that it used to be a fast food type place and is now going for upscale but didn't quite achieve it's goals. Speaking of upscale, the prices were north of $20-$37 a plate for most dishes. Best value for the buck was the chicken sandwhich. But the meal was expensive for sure -- not a knock because you can research the menu before going but there it is.. The worst part was the music. It was incredibly loud. If you have old people or people who are hard of hearing, you better yell really loud or know sign language. We asked our waitress if she could get them to turn the music down a bit because we had old people and children in the party and she said she tried but indicated it hadn't happened. If you are old or your name is Karen, you might be bothered by the music genre (rap/r&b/etc). I thought it was fine, just too loud. Overall, great food with some drawbacks. My husband and I went out on a date here. The food was great. I had the catfish n' grits, and my husband had chik of the hills. We also had the fried green tomatoes as a starter. Growing up in South Carolina and Georgia, I have very high expectations when it comes to southern cuisine, and I was not disappointed! Their catfish is one of the best catfish I've ever had. I decided to place a brunch reservation for my mother's 70th birthday after hearing about all of the hype of the new Raleigh location, I decided to try the original location that is on the same street of my mother's home. I really appreciated the southern hospitality here. Shelly provided excellent customer service and southern hospitality from the time our feet hit the door mat. It was chilly outside and she welcomed us in to be seated immediately. Markell was our waiter and he was wonderful. There was another young lady who waited our table who was very pleasant. We enjoyed fried green tomatoes and deviled eggs as starters. My mom and I enjoyed the strawberry basil mocktail. For our entrees we had Catfish and grits which comes with delicious collared greens. This dish was fabulous. My mom had chicken and waffles, my daughter tried the hot honey sandwich and our family member had the shrimp and grits. The fried green tomatoes were tasty and not overly done. This building has been many things over the years. The location can be tricky to get into, and parking is limited, but the ambiance from the front door to the table. Thought we were greater and seated in a timely manner when it came time to order our food more than 2/3rds of the menu was not available. But we were not told that until after we began to order your food and then we have waited for 2 hrs and still have not received our food and there were other parties our size that their food served but we still did not receive our order. They were good but overcooked which made them very rubbery and sulfurus. You can see in the second picture The yolk is more gray than yellow because of how cooked it was. Indigenous/Columbus Day had me here for a bestie's weekend. We initially rolled in here on Saturday at 2pm but that was a serious (serious!) mistake. We were sat right next to THE most obnoxious table of drunk girls (I hasten to use the term women because young women don't behave that way in a family restaurant at 2 in the afternoon) so loud and drunk that we got up and left. We gave our server 10 minutes to return with our drinks in hopes of being moved away from these disrespectful diners but gave up after waiting 11 minutes for water. We told the bar staff we were out but they didn't appear to care so we left for Mexican across the street. Bestie's hubby isn't into trying new foods so since she really wanted to dine here we made reservations for Sunday brunch. Much better atmosphere! Our server was attentive but not hovering. We both ordered an Island Mimosa. We expected to be transported to a tropical beach but we were stranded on Rum Road (more liquor than anything else) so first off, the drinks were a disappointment. Redemption was made with a basket of the most heavenly scones and blueberry bread. I want to say it's called Helen's basket but it's not currently on the menu. The butter and blueberry spread really made the smile return to my face. I ordered ala carte with a churro Waffle, brunch potatoes and scrambled eggs with cheese. The churro was a let down. It was very dry and crumbly. I'd never had one before so I don't know if that's how they're supposed to be but I had 2 bites and even though I took it to go back with me to my hotel, I never tried it again. The brunch potatoes and eggs were the other stars of my brunch. The eggs almost seemed whipped so well and so light that I fully expected them to float right off the table. The spices added to the breakfast potatoes were so savory (maybe parmesan cheese and an unknown spice) that I wished I had just ordered potatoes, potatoes and more potatoes. Overall, while I'm glad we made another effort (bestie loved her French toast) this was half great, half not so great for me that I'm not sure I would dine here again. For me, the open restaurant makes for a noisy and boisterous experience, so much so that I found it too much for me to want to return. We made a reservation the night before online to ensure we got a table because this place is only open 4 days a week and it gets busy!! Our reservation was at 630 and we were seated a few minutes after we arrived. The staff was very friendly and helpful since it was our first visit. They do not have hand held menus you scan QR code to see the menu. Everything looks delicious!! We ordered beverages first.. I got the mimosa flight .. I didn't get one on menu I got a substitute one had peach, passion fruit, guava and mango.. all were so good! It was a 50 cent charge extra to have these but I didn't see the prob with that at all! We shared the fried green tomatoes with crab meat and a really good sauce ! Crispy outside tender and delicious inside! Then I got chicken of the hills.. a delicious chicken breast split and so tender! On bed of garlic mashed potatoes and crispy Brussels sprouts with mango salsa and balsamic glaze!!! For dessert we split a peach cobbler.. you could taste the hints of butter and bourbon glaze so good and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top!! Absolutely a dining experience I won't soon forget.. the inside is really cute.. there's a spot at front where you can take a selfie with flowers and sign in neon ! The bar area is very nice too.. lots of different named beverages and most made with nc liquors.. a few drinks were made with our county's own Walton's distillery liquors.. that kinda makes it feel more special.. that being said they do not have beer on tap from Budweiser or Miller or any store bought beers.. they have their own selections and will let you try them to see what you'll like or you can do a flight of beers.. samples are free it's just a sip verses a small glass of each that' you pay for but it's kinda nice having options.. really enjoyed our night here. read more

Visited Flavor Hills on a whim tonight honestly not knowing what to expect since this is a newer establishment.. great music and customer service right off the bat. Our server JJ was the SWEETEST. I found this little gem while visiting family in North Carolina. I was pleasantly surprised by the overall aesthetic and vibe when I walked in. Both tasted amazing - I recommend the Allures Way due to its beauty and uniqueness in flavor. We also got the tequila flight which is something I'd never seen at a restaurant! Super fun & original. A must have for tequila lovers, big groups or celebrations. My favorite appetizer was the crab fries. The chipotle aioli sauce was extremely tasty (I could've smothered it on everything) and had the perfect little kick. There was a fair amount of crab meat included as well. I highly recommend those as a starter. For entrees we got the Cajun Ribeye and Cajun Salmon. Both were cooked to perfection. The asparagus, mashed potatoes and rice pilaf were great sides and full of flavor. We also got the Loaded Brownie for dessert. The brownie is a little thick and dense in terms of ratio to the ice cream, but still decent. I also think I would've liked the brownie a bit warmer. Next time, I've got the Red Velvet Creme Brûlée on my list to try. We plan on coming back for brunch! The breakfast menu looked absolutely amazing and they offer bottomless mimosas for only $25. The vibe of Flavor Hills was vibrant and inviting! Classic 90's R&B tunes filled the air and everyone smiled and acknowledged your presence-servers and other customers! This was just the beginning of a beautiful brunch journey. Our drinks were sweet and flavorful. They offer bottomless mimosas and as much as we wanted to enjoy those we had to decline. We did have to drive back to Charlotte! The menu offered something for everyone. We had a hard time deciding what we wanted. We ordered the catfish and grits and cheesesteak omelette! Each dish was served piping hot and well seasoned. The tables around us received food that looked really good too! The staff was very attentive and friendly. I was in Jacksonville for work and happened to drive past this restaurant several times so a friend and I decided to try it. Since I couldn't decide on a beer, I ordered the flight which included the False, Kolsch, She Wants Me, and S'moose. I enjoyed all of the beers and noticed that they all tasted better with the food. We got the Crab Fries for our starter and it was sooo yummy!!! For my entree I had the Apple Bourbon Chop which was a 12 oz bone-in pork chop served with Bourbon glazed apples and garlic whipped potatoes. The dish also came with flash fried brussel sprouts but I substituted them with sautéed asparagus. Everything was prepared and flavored perfectly!
