I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the service provided by your company regarding my son's scheduled driving lesson and the handling of his pickup. Prior to the lesson, my son communicated with your receptionist to arrange pickup. However, on the day of the lesson, he was unexpectedly informed that your company has a policy of only providing pickup service to individuals who live within ten minutes of your office. This policy was never disclosed to us at any point during the scheduling process. For clarity, we reside approximately fifteen minutes from your location. Had this policy been communicated in advance, we would have made alternative arrangements or chosen a different provider. Additionally, no one took the time to verify my son's learner's permit or confirm our address in relation to your service area before finalizing the lesson. Following this issue, I requested a refund. I was then informed that your refund policy only allows reimbursement via Zelle up to ten business days after the original deposit. Again, this policy was not clearly explained to us prior to payment. Furthermore, I am disappointed by the lack of responsiveness from management. Despite attempts to resolve this matter, no one has made an effort to return calls or address these concerns in a timely or professional manner. This situation reflects a lack of transparency, poor communication, and unsatisfactory customer service. I'm finally writing this a year later, but I strongly recommend avoiding this driving school. I purchased a full package and it ended up being the worst investment. This was my first time ever taking driving lessons and getting behind the wheel, and my instructor, Kimberly, provided almost no actual instruction. She never even taught me how to turn the car on -- it was always already turned on when I got in. She didn't explain the rules of the road test, never emphasized the importance of checking blind spots, and spent most of the time yelling at me instead of actually teaching. On top of that, she was extremely unprofessional. She often had an attitude, acted like I wasn't a paying client, and multiple times spent part of my lesson arguing on the phone with her boyfriend while I was in the car. She was always late too. She also would call her son a lot during my lessons! To make things worse, my "45-minute lesson" was rarely 45 minutes. She insisted on driving herself to Howard Beach and back instead of letting me drive, which cut more than 20 minutes out of every session. So not only was the instruction terrible, but I didn't even get the practice time I paid for. The manager (Anisha) was KIND and my first lesson with her went well, but that doesn't excuse the poor hiring decisions or lack of oversight. If this is someone's first time ever taking lessons, the instructor should be patient, professional, and actually teaching -- not yelling, cutting lesson time, or handling personal drama on the phone. Because of how bad my experience was, I've warned multiple people away from this school. Professionalism and honesty bring in business -- not scams, not shortcuts, and not instructors who don't know how to teach. I reached out to the school about my concerns, and they claimed it was the first time they'd ever heard a complaint about Kimberly. But if you scroll down, there's literally another review from a year ago saying the same thing. So clearly, that wasn't the truth. The manager now says I'm a fake customer, but I've added screenshots and can add more. I'm writing this now because I did not want them to retaliate, as I was trying to get my license. I initially believed the treatment I received was normal (my first ever time getting into a car as a driver, etc, so obviously I didn't know any better), but after working with other driving schools, it became clear that what I experienced with Flavors was a scam. I had an extremely frustrating experience with this driving school. When I first booked my classes, I was promised that they would schedule my road test for me--but that never happened. I completed all my lessons as requested, only to find out they hadn't booked the road test at all. After a month of waiting, I insisted on booking it myself, and that's when they told me they don't have cars available on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays, only Thursdays and Fridays. I asked for a Thursday appointment, but they booked me for Friday instead. I hadn't driven in over a month, so I requested a few refresher lessons before the test, offering to pay extra if needed. They didn't respond for an entire week. When I followed up, they told me they were fully booked. I had no choice but to go to the test with no practice, and when we arrived at their office, there were three other students waiting. We waited for 30 minutes, and when I asked if we were going to be late, they assured me we wouldn't be. But we ended up arriving late to the testing site, and all the DMV instructors were visibly upset. I overheard them talking about how this driving school is always late and never respects anyone's time. Honestly, I regret choosing this school. It's a waste of money and energy. I went to this driving school 2 years ago and never wrote a review because I was over it. I paid for 10 lessons, only received 9 and originally was only going to receive 8 until I corrected someone that worked there. Driving instructor wasn't bad but he was young and felt he didn't have the experience of being a driving instructor when he recently started driving himself. I failed my test, not blaming anyone there, maybe I needed more practice. I started at a different school and the difference is crazy. I finally feel like I know how to drive thanks to my instructor. Former flavors student but now a official flavors graduate ( lol ) Upon signing up and booking my classes I've never drove before and I made sure the receptionist was well aware of that and she assured me that I would be fine . Fast forward to my first class out of 10 with Chris when he asked me to switch over and take the wheel I had a full on anxiety attack refusing to sit in the drivers seat . He calmed me down and from then on out I was driving like I knew what I was doing . Every session I got better and better and I felt like the school was more than just a school because of the instructors like Chris and the wonderful receptionist like Bibi and Serida . Never anyone available to answer your questions/concerns whether you are calling over the phone or in person. The receptionist is always changing and never knows anything. The reply is always, " I need to speak to my manager" which leads to no call back...ever. There is no communication about policy or status of your account because the person at the front desk doesn't know anything and won't check your file to see if anything has expired or not. You continue with your own busy life and they do not get back in touch with you and then your account is expired when you finally do speak to a manager after having a meltdown. The customer service is severely lacking and the person in charge of answering questions gets testy and you have to remain calm. The only good service is at the beginning when you have to pay them. If that isn't bad enough... the person learning to drive will be with 3-4 different instructors who vary in what they teach. You're not sure what you should be doing because each instructor instructs differently advising different things you should and shouldn't be doing. Unbelievable .... My experience with this school has been awful. The first lesson I had was scheduled for 2:30 and they left me waiting about an hour. The second strike was when I scheduled a appointment for 11:00am a week in advance (the day before my road test). She sent me a text confirming and I confirmed thinking it was for 11:00am which is what we agreed to a week ago. I arrived at the school at 10:55am and she said I will have 15 minutes remaining or I can reschedule meaning she scheduled me for 10:30 when I was very specific on 11:00. (My road test is the next day) she said I can reschedule for 8:30am tomorrow but I have to pay a rescheduling fee. So I left without driving that day and my road test is the next day. My daughter is currently taking lessons at this school. She is happy with the instruction she is receiving. She says her instructors are friendly and patient. The only problem we have are the last minute changes the school often makes to her time slot. Every lesson so far she has received a last minute text (same morning or night before) changing her lesson time by up to 1.5 hours before or after originally scheduled time. This is becoming a problem because we have to drop her off at the school and often have to rearrange our personal lives to accommodate these last minute changes. Just to give you some perspective, she has completed eight lessons now and all were changed last minute. I hope the last two will not be an issue. So, given the circumstances, I cannot in good faith recommend this school to any family or friends. If the school does better in this aspect, maybe I will. read more

The care and patience I received at this school is the reason I passed my road test!! Instructors and patient and so kind and really make you feel comfortable. When I started I made very basic mistakes such as forgetting my signal and wide turns but they walked me through everything and explained everything clearly until I understand and mastered it. This was the worst experience I probably had! Highly unprofessional rude people! Receptionist (Michelle) had no manners or people skills. She scheduled my classes when instructor is not available and has a road test. 5 mins in my pick up time I reach out and she goes well the instructor canceled. There was no notice. Nothing! When I asked how am I gonna reschedule the class I have no time left before the driving test. Am I gonna lose a class she said "yeah" with such a rude attitude. They canceled on me 4 times out of 5. I asked to speak to management cause it was getting tedious and there was no contact. Receptionist asked me to contact on her number which I was not going to do I wanted to speak to someone else directly. When I expressed all these events to the instructor she said "well she's Guyanese" you can imagine unprofessionalism at that place. At my DRIVING TIME I asked instructor if I can get off 3 mins away. They said yes. Receptionist calls me and starts trash talking why I took an "Uber ride" I said it was 3 mins away, at my driving time that your instructor agreed to. If u have problem with that fire your employee why are you harassing me for!? They have no sense of scheduling. They canceled on me every time. Even rescheduled class without any notice. I have a tight schedule I go to school and work. When I complained, receptionist goes I should make a schedule that suits me. I did make one. They canceled and reschedule all the time. Even cancel reschedule classes that I had to switch schedules with some one at work. I'm attaching the very last text. I understand an emergency happening once or twice but this was insanity. And if they are canceling on my tight schedule like this they should be able to compensate. I reschedule Almost every class and even they get canceled. And then they have a nerve to talk rude. The driver instructors including the owner does not focus on the student rather on thie phones. Instead to set you up to pass they will set you up to fail. The instructors do not have a well lesson plan and expects you to practice lessons outside their lesson time. What if one does not have a car and the first in the circle to get a driver license. I just started my lessons at Flavors driving school about a week and a half ago. I have been putting off getting my license for many years now.... so this was a big step for me. I paid for the package that included the 5 hour class, 5 personal lessons, and whatever else was needed for the day of my driving test. I have now taken two personal lessons with Karen the owner.....who is a sweetheart. I was a little nervous to drive with someone new in the car but right off the bat, we were having normal conversation, which helped me calm down a little. Also, I took the 5 hour class this past weekend with Dean. I was dreading the 5 hours that I needed to get the certificate for the driving test but Dean really went over the do's and dont's of the driving test. Dean was also very funny which made the time go by quick. I have a couple more lessons with Karen coming up and I would 100% recommend her driving school to whoever needs to get their license. She really knows how to teach and to make sure you perfect your driving skills before taking that test. read more
