Got a gift card for a present and decided to give it a shot. I don't remember the young man's name who helped me but he was super helpful. Took me through the foot mapping process and explained all the data that it brought back. After asking if I had any preferences he brought out quite a few options for me to try. I settled on some really unique shoes with a great backstory (Karhu from Finland) with some good inserts. The staff was great, prepared and very helpful. I made an appointment for a fitting before they opened that morning and when I arrived, they were ready and we did the scan and gait test. I tried on multiple pairs of shoes until I found the ones that seemed perfect. I might have gotten a slightly better price online, however, the service and opportunity to have a personalized fitting far outweigh any savings in that regard. This was return visit. Yesterday I paired with Kat. Starting with. I watched other interactions only I was given new socks. My scan came up with a 7.5. She brought out all 9 in which I didn't realize until I was about to purchase due to the back of the shoe was slipping up and down. I was told my heel was narrow. I requested an 8 and went with that. Inserts were trimmed and placed in the shoe. I got home to realize they were 40 dollars which I was not informed. I by no means thought they were free but 40.00 no ma'am. I returned today for a refund advising these shoes felt no different than the ones I already own. So the young lady said I hope you find some that gets rid of the pain in which I never said. I said I would have expected them to be more comfortable after wearing for a few hours. This is it I will never return I was treated like I didn't belong. So sad. read more

I've been to this location a couple of times and I like it. For those that don't know, Fleet Feet is a smallish chain specialty running store. I think there's another location in San Antonio but I've only been to the one near the Quarry. It's your run of the mill specialty running store: running shoes galore, including some lesser known brands like Hoka One One. Since I love me some Hoka's I came here to check out the latest iteration of the Clifton line. When I walked in, I was greeted promptly. Within a few minutes, I was trying on the new Cliftons. Protip: I didn't need a fitting but if you're a new runner and don't know what kind of running shoes are best for your particular gait, the folks at Fleet Feet can hook you up. It's always good to have someone trained fit you for the proper type of running shoes rather than assuming that all running shoes are one and the same (eg neutral, stability, motion control, etc). I can't say for certain, but normally specialty shops will let you do a quick run in your shoes to ensure they fit you perfectly; I'm sure Fleet Feet will allow that if you ask. In any event, they have a pretty good no questions asked return policy within a specified time frame. 60 days? In addition to shoes, they have other running kit: shirts, shorts, vests, and the like. Basically, if you need it they should have it. OH! And they carried toasted marshmallow GUs--my favorite! But hard to find in a pinch. From what I could tell, the prices are reasonable. This isn't a discount store, so expect to pay a premium for premium brands but the markup isn't outrageous. For instance, my Hokas were the same price at Fleet Feet as they would be at other places on the interwebs. Another great thing about the shop is they host a variety of events that you can sign up for (ie training programs, social runs, and the like). I've yet to attend but it seems pretty cool. The visit started out great. We were greeted quickly. The guy who helped us discussed what kind of exercise we do or wanted to do. He measured our feet and stance and had us walk to check ankle alignment. He seemed to know what he was talking about. He made several suggestions for brands for both of us. My husband was able to try on 3 different options to see which worked the best. He was able to find a pair that fit well and he found comfortable. The store was clean and well cared for. Some of the staff cleaned the feet are measured on, but not all of them. I don't know if they cleaned it before I used it but it wasn't between when my husband and I did. It was by the next staff member before the next customer was assisted. The staff member who helped me was able to help me narrow down what shoes to order on the one because the stock in store is greatly lacking if you have smaller than "average" feet like me. The staff member half way offered to help me place my order online but it was not worth the trouble, especially after I found out the first time customer discount couldn't be applied and the loyalty points wouldn't be earned since it was an online order. I found it very disappointing that online orders don't get any benefits when the only reason I had to order online was the poor size selection available in the store. When this was mentioned, all that was said was there was nothing that could be done. If you wear a more common size, I'm sure your in store experience will be much better. read more

Love this place. Customer service was excellent. Katie was extremely helpful and upbeat. I think the initial greeting sets the tone, and I felt immediately that I was in the right place. She asked me my preference in socks and had me take off my shoes. To get you set up, they have you stand on a foot scanner. Then you walk up and down this dynamic pressure pad to gauge how your feet impact the ground. The best part is that they explain it and email the results to you. This way, there is data to refer back to later on. I absolutely love the shoes I selected. I don't think the socks have to be bought and I think that is a plus. The purchase isn't forced on you. They usually are rushing to just get it done fast and every single time I get to the counter, they ask every man who is checking out before or after me if they're military or first responder. I have been a loyal Fleet Feet customer for years and have always been impressed with their great service, but that ended today. I was 'greeted' by Brandon, who couldn't have been less helpful with selecting a shoe, much less assisting me putting one on until I prompted him. He was genuinely uninterested in customer service and could have easily sold two pairs of shoes if he had a different attitude. Not only that, but he disappeared to the back right in the middle of 'helping' me. I suffer from multiple sclerosis, have severe foot drop and fine motor deficit, and wear a knee-high ankle foot orthotic on my right leg. I needed help putting on a shoe, which I genuinely shouldn't have to ask for in a shoe store. It's like me, as a registered nurse, telling a patient to dress their own wound like it's their job. First of all, like all running stores, everyone was so helpful and nice! If they didn't know an answer, they'd go ask someone for me. That being said, I'm a little frustrated by the 2 encounters I've had here. The first visit, I had been here for a Saturday running event. AND I won a free pair of shoes! Unfortunately did not have them in stock, so they said call in a week and come back, no big deal. I decided to buy some other things instead since they were having some sales. 50% off sports bras and 25% off clothing!! I was a little disappointed to find out when I got home that the shorts I bought weren't discounted... little misleading that they didn't say there were exclusions. Came back the next week for the "free" shoes.... tried on 3 pairs, then decided on 1 I liked. When he rung them up, I still owed $10 for them... so the "free" shoes were really a $120 credit. It is really rare to find knowledgeable enthusiasts that know the many options for all the shapes and sizes we come in. I had one issue with a shoe that my physical therapist advised if I could return it to do so. Well, with no issues at all they did and made sure the rather unique medical concern was addressed. I unfortunately can not train as hard as I have in the past, but this is where they up their game. Their knowledge of not just the lightest products for the most biomechanical runners, but all runners has me coming back. Today roger helped and I can't express the thanks I have for this guy. Truly patient and kind to my son. They do NOT (of the two times I've been) pressure you at all. They are only slightly more expensive than other stores such as academy but the service is superb and well worth the Tiny up-charge. After breaking up with running over 6 years ago, I decided it was time to get back together, so I signed up to do a Spartan Race in June. I needed new running shoes since mine were ancient and went to Fleet Feet after reading the all the stellar Yelp recommendations. The staff was super-helpful and knowledgeable and listened to what I wanted. I ended up in a shoe that I wouldn't have even looked at twice, but actually fit like a glove. I needed inserts for my overpronation, and the staff cut and fit them for my shoes. I even ran on the in-house treadmill to make sure my shins didn't start to hurt. While the shoes were a little more than I wanted to spend, the attention and service was well-worth it. I even managed to get a new pair of running sunnies as well! I'll defintely be back to Fleet Feet for my next pair of running shoes. This particular location (Alamo Heights) is moving to the Quarry soon, and that's even better (closer to home)! read more

This is the best place to buy running shoes and receive personalized service according to your foot needs! They will examine your walk and recommend the best shoe for you. I have knee problems and tend to over-pronate and the salesperson was so helpful in recommending the correct shoe and insole for me. I have purchased running shoes at the outlet mall in the past, and didn't receive nearly the same quality of service and bought the incorrect shoe for my walk, which did not help my knees. He was helpful, caring, and didn't try to give me a sales pitch or schpeal at all. He listened to me, what my fitness goals were, and put me in a shoe that would help me with those goals. I really loved the instant feedback from their foot scan that showed the size of my feet and the way that I stand. If I could give 0 stars this I would. I went in yesterday, Thursday, July 1st, 2021, with the intention to buy a brand new pair of shoes. After walking in I was greeted by NOBODY, I began to search and look at the shoes when finally one employee came up to me. I started asking questions and decided on a pair of shoes to try on. The employee was very informative and nice at first, however he disappeared and started assisting another customer. I was left standing by myself with random shoes on. He took the other customer to the front and cashed him out. Another employee came to ask me if I needed help. I told him that I liked the shoe but wasn't very fond of the colors and asked for other options. He showed me 2 other colors that I did not like and he just left and helped other customers. Instead of helping me look at other styles and colors he just walked away. I wish there would've been more customer service. They were young employees and maybe they just didn't realize they left me hangin. I needed some guidance. If there were no other colors for that particular shoe I was okay with switching styles to get the color scheme I would be happy with. We received a prompt and warm welcome at the door by a young man named Arlo, and then we spent the next hour and a half with Gaby. She took the time to explain the results of our feet and gait scans, and got us multiple pairs of shoes for each of us to try on. I had the opportunity to come into this store for the first time looking for a nice shoe for my feet to run in .so very apparently I've been wearing the wrk g shoes for the longest causing injury. I had the pleasure to have gotten help right when I walked I. With Leah .i let her know my running goals and right away we went into the process and details. They have a foot I.D to evaluate your feet and show your size it's pretty awesome it shows in 3D and even .i had no idea I was wearing my running shoes too small. I also did a walk /run from one end of the room to the other. Also apart of the evaluation. Long story short the assistance was amazing g and very one on one and she brought out different brands of running shoes that all fit and were very comfortable but I only need one pair. After testing each pair and even me letting me run outside with them .we narrowed it down to my two favorites(running around testing one on each foot) . it was real easy to decide between the winning shoe! It made finding my running shoe so simple and easy without the stress. i spent only about 30-45 min here. I also purchased inserts and compression socks which helps a lot with my flat feet. The inserts are amazing and also were picked out by Leah that would compliment the support I needed. So my husband has really wide feet (sorry honey) and runs 5 miles a day. We were replacing shoes every 3-4 months. After a trip to Fleet Feet, we were educated on why my husband is blowing through shoes. They measured his foot, laced them up and watched him run around the store. They suggested a New Balance shoe with a roll bar. Now we only replace shoes every 6-7 months. They even keep a record of the shoes he buys so I can stop in and grab a new pair when he isn't with me. I will warn you and say they charge $20-$40 for the same brands and models you can find elsewhere....but you pay for their expertise....and Fleet knows feet! read more
