What can I say, Fleet Feet is a runners paradise! I joined a run club last year, now I'm well into the second year prepping for my fifth marathon and the support you get with the coaches at Fleet Feet is incredible. Erica and Eboney are dedicated, sun, snow or rain Tuesday nights and early Saturday mornings they show up with the motivation I need, even I try to blend into the background. The store in Rocky River offers a great selection of running gear and nutrition. The shoe selection for my taste is a bit limited, but if you need an experienced fitting the team at Fleet Feet are the go to, recording the save, taking down your step and stride so you don't walk out with any old pair of shoes. The staff and experience here were great! While the shoes I bought are comfortable, I never expected to pay this much for something so bland looking, but, alas, the choices appear to be beige or white (neither of which I find appealing). However, the whole purpose was to get a good pair of running shoes, and I did get that. They do a little assessment, walking, measuring, and photographing your feet, and then based on your activity of interest and price point, bring out some shoes to try. Stopped in here this afternoon and two employees whose names I sadly forget (a lady and a gent) helped me find some new shoes! ASICS has been changing around my favorite running shoes and they've been getting narrower. They are open from noon-4 PM on Sundays. They were so very friendly and were able to help me out with exactly what I was looking for; they were both very knowledgeable. I was worried that maybe there wouldn't be enough options in the store as the selection is smaller than what I've seen elsewhere but it's actually perfect. I found that the Brooks Ghost 12 is a perfect replacement shoe for me and I'm so glad I went in store as I need a completely different shoe than I take in ASICS (9 regular in ASICS but 9.5W in Brooks). They also have tons of sports apparel including my very favorite Balega hidden comfort socks (a runner's best friend). I definitely recommend this store. read more

I was in need of some new running shoes, and since Fleet Feet was close to my house I decided to stop in. I liked the spacious layout, and was surprised that even though there were several customers already in the store, I was greeted and assisted immediately. I was helped by Greg, who took the time to ask me about my goals, what I was looking for, and what I liked/dislike about my current shoe I'd been wearing. He evaluated my current running shoe, and had me walk back and forth to watch my gait. He measured my feet and brought out a few recommendations. He was super knowledgeable and professional, and helped me pick out a great shoe! The only reason why I gave the store 4 stars instead of 5 is because I feel like they kind of push the more expensive shoes and inserts. I'm not a very serious or long distance runner, and don't experience any pain or discomfort when running or doing long distance walks where I feel like inserts would be necessary. I totally understand that he was only doing his job, but I don't like being pushed towards buying something I don't really need. (This is something I really appreciated about the last store I purchased running shoes from.) But Greg was not pushy when I declined the inserts, and was overall very polite and helpful. The store has a great selection of shoes, inserts, socks, apparel, stretching accessories, and other running gear. Heard about this place from my friend that went to a Fleet Feet location out of state and I was so excited that we have a couple here in Cleveland. I am constantly on my feet and I began to notice that my back felt like it was breaking at the end of the day with sore heels so I made an online appointment for a consultation and was helped by Maggie! There are two things they do to get a better look at your stance and also how you walk and where you place the most pressure. Based off that they recommend shoes for you. I always buy my running shoes here and I just took my mom to get fitted for shoes because she's been having problems with her ankles. Stacey went above and beyond to make sure she got the right combination of shoe, sock, and insole. She didn't make us feel rushed and took as much as time as needed to get the right solution. It was obvious that she knows what she's doing and the customer service was excellent. Most people that wrote reviews for Fleet Feet are runners. Well let me tell you, I am NOT a runner! I work a Factory job on concrete floors. I'm on my feet 10+ hours per day and 6 days a week. My feet hurt, my legs hurt, my back hurts too. And did I mention that sometimes my ankle swells? I have plantar fasciitis, in addition to other issues. Another coworker suggested I go to Fleet Feet. Best decision ever! The sales woman who helped me was named Angela. She took the time to listen to me. She asked numerous questions about my needs etc. They have you stand on a machine that creates a 3D image of your feet. They have you walk around for them and assess the way you walk. She then determined which type of shoes would be best for me. She brought out numerous pairs of shoes, different brands & styles. I sat down while she put every single shoe on for me and tied them up. She really took her time helping me find the right pair of shoes and never once did I feel rushed. They offer several different brands of shoes, like New Balance, Nike, Brooks & Hoka. I ended up with New Balance. The shoes are a bit pricey but I did compare prices online with other places and the cost was the same. Plus Fleet Feet gives you a $15 credit towards your next purchase for every $150 you spend. I am familiar with Fleet Feet from my years in the CHI. I LOVED Fleet Feet then and often went out for "chicks" night runs with the store and met some great fellow runners. FF was where I went for all my running gear, shoes, socks, sticks, etc. Needless to say, when FF moved into the West Side hood I was EX-CITE-ED! I stopped in the other day because I was in dire need of some running shades to protect my precious peepers as I run in the sun. Options are limited, Oakley and Tifosi brands. When I asked about the sun glasses the response I got was, "They're sun glasses. That's about it. I don't think there's much to know or say about them." Gee, thank you, and so helpful. I went on to purchase them because well, $50 is a heck of a lot less than $180 for Oakley. When I got home to look at my new shades I noticed that there were supposed to come with a case. So, I made my 2nd trek up to the West Side hood to get my case. The same "helpful" male said, "Oh, yeah, I'm glad you caught that." No, "I'm sorry for my lack of skills as a sales person and retail employee". (Not that I was expecting that). I DID ask some running shoe questions while I was in the store for the 2nd time (Hey, two birds with one...or two stones.). Mr. "helpful" was actually knowledgeable about the shoes and I had some renewed hope in his skill set as an employee of FF. Overall, store is beautiful, nicely laid out, and easy to locate stuff. They don't have a ton of stock but they have some nice items and the essentials, of course. Will I be back? Probably, but I'll still probably go to the other running store simply because they have a bit more "sole" in their sales approach. read more

SUMMARY: They were great. FULL STORY: As an amateur runner developing "i'm gettin' old" knees, I don't feel comfortable picking up random shoes and guessing whether they're good for me. Came in on a Sunday and Jake I believe was helping out. Not crowded at all and I didn't feel rushed. Basically stood on this measurement platform and it electronically measured foot size, arch, width, and showed a 3-D rendering of how the ankles/feet align. Pretty cool actually, and only took a couple minutes. I was a little surprised they didn't watch any walking/running, but I think each place has a different method for this stuff... They brought out a few options, tried them out, and I fell in love with one. I didn't feel any pressure of an up-sell -- he was patient, friendly, and straightforward with helping me choose what worked best. Didn't mention the prices upfront, but I also didn't think to ask until the end. Selection was decent, and so far very happy with what I chose! Note: They have a rewards club -- $15 back for every $150 purchase. Also -- I think the Strongsville location is still closed. read more

I am a swimmer, not a runner, but I have enough knowledge about the sport of running to know that you can't just throw on any pair of shoes and expect them to work for you. The staff at Fleet Feet were super helpful in finding me the right shoe to fit my feet and my stability needs. She knew exactly which products provided the right support and was able to get me in a comfortable shoe. She also went above and beyond to show me a new way to tie my shoes in a heel lock to prevent my feet from slipping forward. I was so excited that I ran five miles that day! Fleet feet has a great selection of asics, brooks, and saucony. All brands that I subscribe to, but continually go back to my faithful asics. Fleet feet also sells SweatX, which if you haven't tried, you totally should go buy RIGHT NOW! SweatX is a local Cleveland laundry detergent that really gets the smell out of your synthetic work out gear. read more

After having an awful experience at Vertical Runner, I was pretty excited to head up to Fleet Feet and try their "Fitlosophy". I'm not sure if we ever really went through the entire fitting process. My feet were measured, and I walked for the employee, but I guess I thought there would be more! I sat down with Caleigh and explained to her the problems I was having with my current shoes and what I was looking for. Unfortunately, since the store is new, they didn't have the Altras I was so interested in. However, Caleigh gave me a bunch of other options and we found two great shoes. Since Caleigh has a degree related to exercising and kinesiology, she was able to completely understand not only my running history but also my background in dance. She listened to what I said and didn't argue with me about the strength, size, or rotation of my feet. Instead, she help me find just the right shoe that is suitable for my feet. After trying on shoes and finding the right ones, Caleigh also fitted me for a sports bra and let me try on several styles. Fleet Feet has the best sports bra I've ever tried on. It is comforting to find a running store with sport bras that go up as high as DD, unlike many of the stores in the area that have no selection. Sadly, I wasn't able to make a purchase but on my next payday, I'm driving right up to Fleet Feet to buy the right shoe and get back into training! This was the exact experience I have been looking for in my three years of running, educated and helpful staff that doesn't judge me and mis-diagnose me but instead listens to what I say and understands what my feet need. I've been a Cleveland runner for over 20 years, former NCAA athlete (track and XC), and will be completing my 10th half marathon this fall, and I hate this place. Without knowing the background of the person they are helping, always seem to bring out the most expensive shoes in stock. The $80 pair works great for me and I've never had a season-ending injury (impressive considering how long I've been running) but at Fleet Feet I always get a lecture on why I need to spend over $100. Again, I hate this place. Earlier this year I went to Fleet Feet and a punk salesperson (who didn't look at anywhere close to being an experienced runner) insisted I need a supportive shoe after watching me walk 6 feet. First of all, the salesperson was incorrect in their diagnosis; but worse, they were unwilling to revisit the issue and instead suggested maybe my arches had changed in the past few months due to aging or pregnancy. I'm in my 20s and have never been pregnant, so, thanks! For your entertainment, another time an older man got uncomfortably close to my feet during an "evaluation" and his face was literally inches from my feet as he studied them closely for a full minute. That was nearly ten years ago so hopefully he doesn't work there anymore. read more

I agree with the others. Chrystal was extremely helpful. I am overweight but have been into fitness for a couple of years now and I have wide feet. She spent all of the time it took to find the perfect shoes. She did the upsell but it was soft, not hard, and her recommendations for prosthetics and compression stockings (I wear them anyway) were right on target. I found that I was wearing shoes that were far too large. The difference is amazing. My personal goal is to do the three mile heart walk at Avon Commons on May 14. Please join me if you can. Fleet Feet carries the best brands and running accessories in the area. I would not even consider going to another running store. I have been to the other running stores in the Cleveland area and they simply do not compare to the service and experience I have had in the Fleet Feet stores. The employees have always welcomed me and my family to the store, walked through what is best for me, and also followed up to make sure what I purchased is to my liking. This store is in a nice shopping plaza with several places to eat and relax. That being said, I am disappointed with my experience at Fleet Feet. First of all, I have been running for over a decade, have done many races including a few half marathons and a marathon. I have had foot assessments before but it had been about 4 years since my last one so thought it would be a good idea to see what changes had happened. My friend came along for her first foot assessment and first time in a running store. The sales person started out being helpful and cordial, even assessing my feet. However, once she realized that we probably weren't going to buy anything, we were just shoe shopping, she was rude, and she refused to evaluate my friend, who really needed the assessment. She told us to come back another time when we were absolutely ready to buy shoes. Well, after writing this initial review, the store manager emailed me. She apologized, and while she backed up her employee (which is a good thing), she admitted that the employee should have performed the assessment on my friend as well. She said to come back and she would make sure my friend would be assessed. So they are probably 3 out of 5 stars (bc i can get quality shoes online cheaper than what they regularly offer, and they are a 30 minute drive for me) read more
