I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, and I even went out of my way to help him when I didn't have to. But after everything that's happened, I can't stay silent. It all started out fine. The materials for our metal roof arrived on time, and I was hopeful. But once the installation began, the problems started piling up: Two pipe boots were installed backwards, and all three were done so poorly that they look like someone just globbed on silicone. The last four roof panels were cut too short, so they patched them with extra pieces that look awful. Mike lied about installing a trim kit on our skylight--I had to call him out before he finally admitted it. His workers nailed into our brand-new deck just to hold their ladders up, damaging it. When I brought these issues up to Mike, he promised he would make things right, fix the mistakes, and complete the job--including installing the gutters we had already paid for. Before any of that, though, I did something that, in hindsight, was a huge mistake--I gave him an extra $2,000 in good faith because I felt bad that his workers had screwed him over. I also just wanted to make it easier for him to come back, fix everything, and get this job over with. Unfortunately, that money seemed to take away any sense of urgency on his part. Since December 21, 2024, Mike has told me 11 different times that he or his crew would come to finish the job. No one ever showed up. To make things worse: We never even received materials for the gutters--let alone the installation. A second load of roofing materials was delivered when no one was home, and the delivery truck tore up my neighbor's front lawn. I was incredibly patient, understanding that winter weather could cause delays. But there were plenty of good days when the work could have been done--he just never came back. He knew I would have to write this review if he didn't make things right. He swore, yet again, that someone would come. Then he ghosted me. At this point, all I asked for was the $2,000 I had put down as a deposit for the gutters--the other $2,000 was on me for volunteering it. But when I finally asked for my money back so I could just hire someone else, he stopped responding entirely. I have all the text messages to prove every word of this. Again, I really wish I didn't have to write this. I liked Mike, and I wanted to believe in him. But I can't ignore what happened, and I don't want anyone else to go through the same thing. They quickly responded to this damsel in distress and did an amazing job replacing our double roof. The roof never gave us a problem in 30 years! When we decided to replace our roof, based on age alone, we were so pleased that Woodbridge Builders was still in business. Fortunately, the next generation, Bill Kaczynski Jr., maintained the professionalism, work ethic and expertise I was so pleased with back then. I can't sing the praises of Bill, the crew, workmanship, and amazing attitude of everyone enough. The work was done timely and professionally,. My neighbors were in awe watching the process. The crew had a great deal of respect for my property. The clean up was so good that if I didn't know better I would say that no one had been on the premises, of course except for the amazing roof, gutters, and leaders that were installed. I had them inspect my chimney, sweep my fireplace flue, and install a stainless steel liner and new cap on my HVAC flue,which I neglected to have done when I upgraded my old furnace a year ago. They performed the work right away, and did an excellent job. Their crew was polite and very professional. It was a messy job, but they left the fireplace and basement areas of my home cleaner than when they arrived. Prices were reasonable, in fact, unchanged from what I paid seven years ago for the basic service. I can't say a bad word about these folks. It's not always easy to find good home contractors, so Village Sweep gets top marks from me.

Roland was great to work with from the start- responsive, very nice, and on-time. He and a very nice coworker did all the work. He doesn't push his opinions so I would recommend looking into details and finding pictures of what you want in advance. For example, I didn't consider how it would look to join 2 different types of ceiling trim- he redid it to make me happy but i felt bad for creating extra work and changing my mind. I liked that the shelves were built off-site- the process didn't create a lot of mess or disruption!
