I have yet to shoot at the Fletcher gun club, but intend to do so, partly because of the overall great reviews, but also because of the owners review responses, especially to the response to a review re: complaining about the poor offer of price for buying back a gun purchased there but never used! The owner's response was both unapologetic, courteous and inviting! People who own successful businesses in this tough, competitive environment only succeed because they understand the nature of our economic marketplace and explaining the tough choices business owners must make, and the reasonable decisions that support their bottom lines. I came to Fletcher Arms with a colleague a couple months ago with very little experience or knowledge about firearms. Frankly, I was intimidated, not knowing what to expect. However, my experience at the range was great, and moreover, I was pleasantly surprised at how every employee I interacted with was kind, helpful, professional, and made me feel welcomed. I came back a couple weeks later with my colleague, and after reviewing the benefits of membership, I decided to become a member. I have since taken two classes, and I have been so impressed with the classroom and live fire instruction. John Dennert instructed my handgun 101 class, and he is excellent. The emphasis on safety was greatly appreciated and every instructor has been so kind and helpful. I noticed a Fletcher employee in the second class I took, and apparently that is common - truly a testament of the quality of the classes when the employees take them as well. I hope to take several more classes. When sending emails regarding questions I have, the owner, Megan, has often responded herself, and has gone above and beyond to be of assistance. I've also interacted with so many on the Fletcher team from the range to the store that have left a positive impression on me (shout out to Tracey, Max, Ben, and many more - I wish I remembered all their names). I had a wonderful first experience at this range on Saturday May 13th. My son is a police officer and really wanted to meet me and teach me how to shoot a gun. The gentleman at the counter was extremely helpful and explained that we needed to fill out a waiver. Then he showed me how to watch a safety video about the range and what the procedures were. It was so interesting that they even have soap in the bathrooms to wash off the residue from shooting the guns. My son and I rented one lane and my brother and friend, rented another lane. This range allows you to shoot an AR which the other Fletcher Arms does not. I didn't realize how loud it was to shoot a gun. I also didn't know there would be recoil involved which made me a little nervous. It is pretty cool that you can choose what type of targets you want to shoot and you are able to purchase ammo for your guns. The lanes are marked with numbers and they are pretty close together. I have never ever been to a range before so I think this surprised me and gave me a little anxiety. There is gun etiquette involved with holding, loading, or discharging a weapon. This is discussed on the safety video. There is also an employee that is along the wall making sure to answer any questions. Before you can even enter the range you have to have eye and ear protection. It all made sense once I opened up the door. You have to enter through two separate doors. One door must close before you can enter the other door. There are shell casings that come from the gun once the gun is discharged. They fly up in the air and can go anywhere, thus the need for eye protection. The casings are various sizes. The size of the gun and length of the barrel come into play with the amount of recoil that you get from a particular firearm. I didn't realize this until I shot my son's gun. He has a Glock 43XMOS. He showed me exactly how to hold it and how to shoot it. I got a bulls eye, my first shot ever. I was so proud of myself and honestly I was satisfied with just shooting the gun one time. I wanted him to be able to get adequate time to practice. Thank you so much for making my first experience a memorable one. The gun shop was so cool too. Your employees in there were so knowledgeable and even suggested a nice pub for us to go to. We ended up dining at Sobelman's right after shooting. Purchased a used gun there earlier this year. Decided to sell it and thought I'd get a better deal at the place I purchased it. I was wrong. Paid almost $400 for it and never even shot it once. They had to call the owner for a buy back price. The guy helping me was embarrassed to say the offer was $100. He literally told me to go to a competitor for a better price. The two guys working there complained about the place the whole time I was there. read more

Been a member for eight months and always found this a welcoming, professional and friendly place for shooting and shopping guns. The range is always clean and recently got top-notch new equipment. Fletchers also offers a very wide and expanding range of classes; they have a separate curriculum for handguns, rifles and shotguns, as well as general courses on concealed carry and home defense. Their emphasis is on defensive shooting, but I have learned a lot overall about becoming a better shooter. They also have league shooting and monthly competitions. It's a fun place. read more
