Was here recently as a new firearm owner. I wanted to shoot 3 of my handguns. There were two people working the front when I arrived. Everything went smoothly with one of their associates I wish I knew his name. I told him I wanted to sight in one of my handguns and he informed his associate who was coming in to be the range safety officer would help me get set up to do so. The associate who came in with me did absolutely nothing to help me get set up and seemed rather annoyed that I was even there and that I didn't know how to set up my target. He was aware that it was my first time at an indoor range so I had plenty of questions throughout the process regarding proper conduct. Every time I asked him a question he would roll his eyes and act annoyed that I asked. It was a slow day. Only 3 people total at the range while I was there. It seemed he would rather play with his guns than help a new shooter. His conduct completely turned me off to coming back and I will be looking for a different range to go to from now on. If you are a new shooter I would not recommend this place based off my experience. I would be giving them one star if it wasn't for the other associate who was informative and helped me pick the best targets and answer some of my questions prior to being in the range. read more

I purchased a Walther PPQ M2 on gun BRoker from this WOKE company it had 3 pictures and said nothing about a damaged threaded barre! Ive called these SNOWFLAKES on numerous occasions trying to get the manager Shawn to come to the phone and I have left my phone # but it seems he must be at the nail salo! We went to shoot on a Sunday and the 2 guys working said they only had openings at noon. They said they couldn't sign us up until that time. Because they can't handle more than 1 customer at a time, they called another guy up to help. A guy walks in and asks for shooting time at 12. She thinks she knows everything there is to know about guns and takes every opportunity to stop to correct you on non safety issues which infuriates me as a 25 year old male who has been shooting for years. Ok, in today's society there are many sides to the gun control world. The best thing to do is be educated on both sides. Growing up in a environment (hunting) where guns were a routine occurrence, it was never a big deal for me to be around them. A while back my wife and I decided to obtain our concealed carry permits; one for her to fully understand what the whole gun issue thing is about and second to know more about how to avoid dangerous situations. That is what the course is more about, avoidance. We did a pre-class round of shooting to familiarize her with the handgun she was going to use and to get the feel of shooting. I was going to give her tips but the team at WFTC was fantastic and jumped right in to help her. So much better than trying to have a family member/husband try to explain everything. They had her shooting in a matter of minutes and taught her everything she needed to know while I did my own shooting. The staff at the site is terrific. Some may say they are a little ridged, but in their environment you have to be. They will set you up with everything you need to have a fun and safe experience. The CCW class was full (25% were women). It had people who were avid shooters to brand new to guns. Although the class was extremely informative, there were a few places where the instructor could have kept with the curriculum vs. life stories (they were interesting, but not relevant at times). They made everyone feel welcome and by the end everyone had done a very nice job. My wife had such a great time she is joining the 3rd Thursday women's night events. One hour of discussion and 1hr of range time. Taught by women for women. If you want to get a better understanding of the whole gun control issue, I highly recommend taking a class to decide for yourself. You may end up finding something that peaks your interest, that you never thought would happen. read more

I've visited WFTC at least twice per week over the last 3 months. As I walked through the doors for my first visit, I noticed the immaculate and well-organized storefront. I was greeted immediately by Brad, he was friendly and very helpful, explaining the rules of the range and the ancillary services they offer. There is always a range safety officer on duty in the shooting area. The RSOs are all seasoned firearms enthusiasts most of them are former LEO and/or military. They are polite but very firm, their level of firmness is dependent on the severity of the behavior they're correcting. If you are sensitive to stern and deliberate speech then Follow all range rules at all times without fail. WFTC is not Like Chucky Cheese and Dave and Busters. The use of firearms is a serious activity and I appreciate the consistency of the enforcement of the rules, as a user of the range I want to be safe in a place that can prove permanently life-changing in a fraction of a second. I've read many reviews about many gun ranges, most of the negative reviews are by people who fail to follow the range rules and as a result, they leave comments criticizing the demeanor of the staff providing the correction. Simply said, if you are incapable of following rudimentary albeit extremely important rules, don't come to WFTC period. They won't tolerate negligence. Having said that, I was impressed with several other staff members like Matt who is unmatched in his enthusiasm toward all things related to firearms. Andy is another standout who has been very helpful with acclimating my 11-year-old son to the sport. Mark and Ted are also friendly and willing to answer any questions. Denise is in a class of her own as the only female on the staff and lettered in the discipline of firearms. Sean is the manager and is also willing to share his experience and knowledge with you. There are others who demonstrate professionalism and make WFTC a welcoming place to shop and shoot. My son and I enjoy our time at the range and after shooting at all the ranges in the Milwaukee area, I have found my range. I am not being compensated in any form in return for this review, I am taking the extensive time to share my opinion in part, as a result of reading reviews from those who didn't like, or chose not to obey standard safety protocols. After several visits, I decided to become a member and I'm glad I did. This range is open to the public as well. OK you've seen the pictures, you've found the location, and now you're wondering what the experience is all about, and that's where I come in. I've gone to the Wisconsin firearms training center, and I have to say I'm very impressed! From the moment you walk in the doors your eyes immediately start to wonder throughout the immaculate, well crafted showroom. It makes you feel like you've walked into the secret layer of 007 and it any moment someone's going to tell you they have a weapon designed just for you. I have to admit I kind of felt like a kid in a candy store. I was greeted by a friendly, professionally dressed staff, willing to answer any questions and direct you to a successful visit. I've gone to other places that seemingly look at you as if you were the next shooting rampage guy, there wanting to take them out or something. I did not get this feeling at this location, I felt welcomed, I felt like I was part of the firearms family. Once checked in, I headed to the range with targets in hand. The range master met me and gave me the instructions for the range. He informed me how to handle my weapon on the range. He also told me how the equipment worked in my lane. There were not 101 signs to read, or a handout to instruct you on the rules before stepping onto the firing line. The single drawback that I can pull from this experience is the fact that I had to tape my targets before sending them down range. I would have expected for a site this well put together to have clips or a clipping mechanism that would reduce the time needed to tape up targets. For those with AR15s you can shoot them here indoors during the cold Wisconsin winters. Without a doubt this was a pleasant experience, one of the best I've had so far. This place is a "good-ol' boys club" for guns and nothing more. All of the employees have an attitude about outsiders that does not benefit their business at all. I visited this establishment on Saturday, August 4th with a friend of mine who was interested in the shooting sports. This friend is a resident of the neighboring state to our south. The employee with whom we signed in decided to invent a policy that an Illinois resident must have an Illinois Firearms Owners ID card (FOID) to shoot at this range. In case anyone missed it, this business resides in the State of Wisconsin where the ILLINOIS FOID does NOT apply. Yet, the employee claims that it is their policy that Illinois residents must have a FOID to shoot at their range. This is not only an arcane policy, it is a disgrace to all of us who belong to the shooting sports. The Illinois FOID is nothing more than a bureaucratic stopgap to gun safety in the State of Illinois and does nothing to prove the individual is a safe shooter. I was attempting to train my friend on the use and operation of my pistol that day. I gladly did it at a different range that didn't have such a nonsense policy. I also made it known at this other range that WFTC has such a ridiculous policy. We all laughed at WFTC's expense. I WILL NEVER PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS AGAIN and I recommend that you don't, either. read more

I want to start out by saying what's great about this place. The rules that they have set in place put an emphasis on safety, which is by far the most important thing at a gun range. Everyone except for one employee seemed to be great and almost everything else having to do with the gun range seemed acceptable. Sadly, they have an employee who thinks that he can treat people like garbage. I was being completely safe and following all of the rules when an employee came up and just put his had on my gun and tried to take it away from me while I had it pointing downrange. This is both borderline insane and wildly unsafe. If I was doing anything to put anyone in danger at all, this would be ok. However, that was not the case. Again, I was being completely safe and following all of the rules. I hope someone straightens this employee out. I stayed calm, but I'm sure some people would feel threatened enough to use the gun to defend themselves. How would you feel if someone just came up behind you and tried to take your gun out of your hand? Hopefully the owner of the gun range addresses this. I was excited to visit WFTC and try out their gun range with a friend. We had purchased a Groupon earlier this year. The offer included range time, PPE, gun rental and 100 rounds of 9mm ammo. I called a week before our desired date. The rep on the phone said since we weren't members, we had to wait until a day before our desired range date. I called back that Thursday, mentioned the Groupon, and was told I couldn't make an appointment, I would have to just walk in. I asked, "What if you're full the day I walk in?" The guy said, "I guess you'll have to wait." I ended the call, re-read the Groupon, and saw it said a reservation was required. I called back, mentioned what the Groupon said about reservations, and this time, I was asked what time I'd like to reserve. I said 2 p.m., and the guy said, okay, got it. He added that I would have to pay a fee above and beyond what I paid for the Groupon because ammo had "quadrupled in price" since they made the original offer. I said I own my own handgun, so maybe we could swap that rental fee out to cover the additional ammo fee. He said he could work something out. Then I asked, "Do you want my name for the reservation?" He said no need, I've got it down. Haha. Okay. My friend and I showed up and presented the Groupon. The guy at the register wasn't sure how to process it, so he got someone else. That guy seemed a little peeved. At first, he said we're not honoring these. I said, "But I already paid for it." And he told me he remembers telling me over the phone he'd have to charge me an additional fee. I reminded him we'd be willing to trade out the gun rental. He said the rental was nothing, but the cost of ammo would cause them to lose money on the deal. I said that's not exactly fair to us, but asked how much more. He stated we'd have to pay another $60 (the Groupon had cost $62). I said, "WHAT?" He said the cost of 9mm ammo was $1.20 per round. I told him I buy it in much smaller quantities than them, and the same brands he had behind the counter, like Sellier Ballot, cost me 79 cents per round plus shipping. WFTC must be buying much larger quantities (you should see how much ammo they have on display - amazing). He said $1.20 is their retail price. So, not only are they screwing me over on my Groupon, they're basing the upcharge on their retail pricing. This Groupon is supposed to be a sacrifice on their end as a way to expose more shooters to their range and build their customer base. I said I'd be willing to pay an additional $20 to cover what would be closer to their cost. The guy said, "Listen, I don't have time to deal with this. Either pay the fee or get a refund from Groupon. I have no control over it, this is from management." I talked to my friend and we decided to stay - as regular paying customers. We paid for the range time and purchased 4 targets and used our own guns and hearing protection. Bottom line, there are tons of stories of Groupons backfiring (pardon the pun) on merchants. It sucks. I get it. The guy could have accepted my offer of a $20 up-fee. I know ammo has become scarce and more expensive. He could have offered me a more fair upcharge than $60 to cover his retail price. He could have even given me the choice of a $20 upcharge or reduce the amount of rounds in the offer to, say, 75 - which might still hurt their bottom line, but not catastrophically, and I probably wouldn't be taking the time to write this well-deserved 1-star review. This ended up a waste of time on my end, and a wasted opportunity for WFTC to win two new customers who might have spent a lot more than $60 over the years to come. read more

I feel like I will be alone in these opinions of WFTC and that may be a good thing when you read my views. I found WCTF at a time when I needed to learn to defend myself and family. I never owned guns prior to this time in life and I felt that I didn't need too. Nevertheless I did. I was introduced to WFTC by my step-son who was a Police Officer at the time. The atmosphere was nice and the staff was very friendly. I found myself changing greatly over time about gun ownership and guns in general. and I really found myself more and more drawn to firearms and how safe it can be if done right. I began purchasing (legally) all the firearms that I could, and I chose to use WFTC for my FFL Transfers. Then things changed. WFTC's patronages are mostly law enforcement affiliated and this may be where the real issues I am experiencing are rooted. In the beginning I thought I was just being paranoid because I am a Black man, and having so many different types of guns and visiting the range often seemed to change things. in the last 3 or 4 FFL Transfers I have done there have been very strange. My State back ground check have been taking longer and longer (5 days at one point) I 62yrs. Old and I don't think I have had but 1 traffic ticket in my life, I don't understand. The Federal checks come back approved within minutes every single time. When I walk in the door there now the atmosphere seems very tense and serious. I get the smiles and hellos but something inside is saying this ain't right. I really feel that they just don't want me there. When the only black guy that works there looks at me (he never speaks to me by the way) I feel like he is sizing me up for a Orange Jump Suit or something along those lines. I really hate this too. I like the facility and it is where I want to shoot. But there is something about me that these guys have an issue with. If I really had to guess I would say that they think I am some sort of illegal gun trader or something. It really F'ed up that I have to feel this way just to enjoy a sport I like. It is so disappointing that I have to feel as though I am being profiled every time I walk in the door there. I know you must be thinking just go somewhere else. In Milwaukee there are not that many options and the ones I have visited just wasn't doing it for me. This really sucks. But I really wish I could have a conversation with these people so that we could clear the air. I consider myself to be a very cool person and hungry to learn. I am getting old I really don't have time for BS. I wish they the workers would take off the fake smiles and just be real. Get to know ME before you judge me. read more

Walked in as a first time customer hoping to use the range. Asked about practicing holster drills. They said nope. I asked not even for law enforcement and one of the employees responses was, "nope not special enough." I walked out. Great response and first impression to set for your business guy, you win! I came here for a bachelor party. We had a reservation which was helpful. I would recommend making a reservation if you plan on shooting with a group. They feature both a pistol range and rifle range. If you don't own a firearm, they do have firearms to rent.Also they have a good selection of firearms for sale. I would say there are better prices out there for firearms. But if you have that kid in a candy store, go for it a pay a little more. The ranges have a nice rail system for moving your target down range. The fee for range time could be slightly less expensive, or remove the 1 hour time limit. We came with our own ammo, so I can't tell you about their ammo prices. Note you can not use steel core ammo on their range. The facility is very clean, the restrooms have soap specifically for washing hands after firing a weapon. read more

Last March my wife and I visited Wisconsin Firearms Training Center using a Groupon. The Groupon covered range time for two, ammo plus a free gun rental. When we arrived at the facility it was obvious the center was rather new which accounted for its clean and organized appearance. Upon entering the we were greeted by one of the staff who started the check in process. The Center is staffed by very professional and courteous people whose aim (no pun intended) is to give the customer an enjoyable and safe shooting experience. This includes the range officers who are helpful with tips and techniques. All of the staff had radios and communicated with each other the whole time we were there. The Center is a great place for both the experienced and novice shooter. We will be back for sure! read more

This was a complete waste of time, Greg the instructor consistently got side tracked by a guy named Luther. This guy apparently to a lot of CCW classes as Greg's sidekick. I just want to absolutely clear that I learned nothing from him. Absolutely never attend this class by Greg, our entire class felt like it was a huge waste of money and will retake it at a different gun range. Also they tried to bait and switch us tried charging $40.00 for the CCW class that was free when you pay for the class. DO NOT WALK BUT RUN FROM THIS PLACE!!! read more

We haven't received it yet, I can't tell why, but I can see that the order was placed. Sorry, don't know what to tell you. 2. Absolutely amazing customer service once again. I truly believe that these bad reviews are because these employees can see through people and do not feel right with them owning or shooting a firearm in there store, I think that should be a right of theirs. If there is something off about a person, or you get the the "There is no bullets left in the gun when the magazine is out though" and "I've shot a bunch with others so I'm good" Putting aside the courses and training which I think is CRUCIAL, I was given unbelievable, bordering on some of the best service I've ever had in a business tonight. I was visiting a relative in Brookfield, Wisconsin this past July of 2018. We are both new shooters, although I have a lifetime Indiana Handgun Carry license, and have taken a few tactical pistol courses in Indianapolis, while my relative is still exploring pistols and is more of a casual shooter with no formal training. WFTC is conveniently located adjacent to Sluggo's bar and grill, a big plus--as I'm usually hungry and thirsty for beer after an hour of pistol shooting! Each range lane has a nice number pad to input the distance you want the target to be placed. The Range Safety Officer was friendly and professional, and spent a little time working with my relative's 13-year-old son, who is a new shooter. I brought my own arms, ammo, and targets--but the retail area is well-organized, with a variety of firearms available for rent. Range lane hourly pricing is what you'd expect for indoor range time, $20. I didn't notice before, but they offer active military/military veterans and law enforcement officers a $2 discount per hour (I'll remember to show them my military veteran status next time). The men's restroom was reasonably clean with special hand soap to cleanse lead contamination from your hands. After target practice, we walked over to Sluggo's for their gi-normous Nachos. We washed them down with a couple glasses of Budweiser. As a visitor from Indiana, I enjoyed my visit to Brookfield, Wisconsin (Indiana handgun carry license holders have reciprocity with Wisconsin) and I was treated well at this range and firearms store. I read the Illinois resident, Gregg S., and his rant about Wisconsin Firearms Training Center requiring Illinois residents to have FOID cards to shoot--sorry but that policy regarding Illinois residents shooting at the WFTC is true. During my visit, there were shooters from Chicago who wanted to shoot at WFTC and the clerk asked them for their Illinois FOID cards. I chuckled to myself, as the state of Illinois always hassles me every time I drive through there to get to Wisconsin, by my having to pull over to dis-arm in Indiana, before driving through Illinois, and then needing to pull over again to re-arm, when I get to Wisconsin. Anyhow I am looking forward to my next visit to WFTC, and this time I will take a ferry through Lake Michigan to avoid driving through Illinois! read more

Took my 13 yoa daughter here on Saturday, 01/12/2019 to do some shooting and bonding. Arrived at about 11:20a and was told that I had until 1pm to finish. At about 11:55a I get a tap on the shoulder from the safety officer that my time was up; off the range at 12pm. I informed him that I was told be done by 1pm and after he checked with the counter employees he reappeared and stated that no, had to be done at 12pm. I protested with both him and the staff but to no avail. We left and I will NEVER return to use this range again. Paid for an hour of shooting and got at best 35-40 minutes of range time. I recommend other shooters go to Fletcher's in Waukesha or the WCTC range in Pewaukee. Never been there but have also heard good things about "The Range" in Richfield. They treated me poorly. We are visiting from out of state and I wanted to take my 10 year old son to go shooting for the first time. I have some history in shooting but but am a bit rusty. We worked with three people while we were at the range and renting guns. Each of them were wonderful to work with. They were kind and took the time to answer all of our questions. They went out of their way to make sure my son had a great experience. There was no attitude or *macho* behavior. This would be a great place if you are new to guns or shooting. I cannot believe the horrible disrespect and terrible customer service I experienced at this place. There are inconsistent policies between employees. Called three times, receiving different answers regarding reservation questions. Finally made a reservation for 530pm. Was told a 530p reservation "does not exist" but that they would accommodate us for a full hour if we could not arrive by 5pm. Arrived around 515pm and was told we had to be out of the range by 6pm. After explaining what had been previously discussed, the larger man with glasses began yelling stating "I don't care what you were told over the phone, you have to be out by 6pm". He was very aggressive and argumentative. Later stated this may had been discussed with a new employee. This is not the customers responsibility to know. He was so rude and aggressive that I was physically upset and had to leave. Will never return here. Awful customer service. read more

Poor customer service. My dad and I went in to check the place out shortly after they opened, and I asked the employee behind the counter specifically if they allow birdshot with shotguns, he said they do allow it. We went back a week or two later, paid for a lane, then were told they only allow slugs. In addition to this, the range safety officer (RSO) treated us like children and obviously had some self-esteem issues. Just because you wear tactical pants and open-carry your handgun doesn't make you an expert, and it doesn't mean the customers are completely unaware of gun safety rules. The facility itself is nice. This was the first time I've ever shot a gun. I went with friends. I was so pleased with the amount of time they spent with us explaining how to handle the guns properly, and safely. The difference in guns and ammunition. I wish I remembered his name because he spent close to 1/2 hour with us prior to our reservation just making sure we understood everything we needed to know. Once we got into the shooting range I felt very comfortable and ready. They really make safety their number 1 priority and customer service a close 2nd. I will definitely be coming back to WFTC. The place is nice, great selection of firearms to choose from. Extremely helpful while you are there. The problem comes into play after you leave there, their followup is very poor. I brought a gun in there to get fixed that I just bought two weeks ago from this location and was told that given the situation that I would receive top notch service and that someone would get back to me the next morning. Next day arrived and no call, so I called them. They stated the gun hadn't been worked on. A week went by and I got a call saying it was fixed. I went and got it, but to my surprise the employee said he fired a box of rounds through it and nothing was wrong. I informed him the issue was that a piece was missing and I had mentioned it when I dropped it off. So once again I'm told they would call me the next day..no call back. I called them and they stated it had to be sent in and they would contact me when it is returned. Some time went by and I decided to email the place they sent it to and was told it had been returned already three days ago! So once again I call and when I asked the status of my gun I immediately am told that someone would call when they get it back, in which I said that it had been returned already. He puts me on hold and a few minutes later someone else picks up the phone and I tell him the same thing. Again put on hold and he comes back and says yes we have it. Upon pick up they wanted to charge me for the box of rounds their tech put through it. My comment was to the employee "I brought my gun in here because the slide ejected, and when I dropped it off I also said that, I also pointed out the locking clip went missing , so why on earth would someone put a box of rounds through it, with the potential of possibly injuring himself?" The employee stated he would remove the charge for the ammo. So to sum it all up, the company has very poor follow up, lack communication and possibly procedures. read more
