This park is fantastic! It has everything!! All the traditional park amenities - pavilion, playgrounds, picnic tables, sporting fields, etc. But the real gem is the walking paths. They're not paved, but pebbled. There are a few different paths you can take, and little trails to walk off on. There's a creek with plenty of places to take the kids down to splash around. At one point, you'll even come up on a farm, which looked to be growing tomatoes in August. And if you make it to the end, you can veer off the path to go up onto some train tracks. A good portion of the path is wooded, so you feel like you're out in nature; it's beautiful. Bikers and dogs allowed but everyone seemed very respectful of space, even during COVID times. The sign outside the entrance says Bill Moore Community Park.

Chloe enjoyed the art in the park

Lovely park ! Great walking / running area. Also nice little dog park . You walk to the back of the park. Most people walk or run with their dogs

This is a huge park and great for many activities. Biking, hiking, splashing in the stream and playing games, it has it all. Except, shade for the tiny playground.

Picnic tables and charcoal grills available

Peaceful, well maintained, and really dog friendly. If you aren't in the mood for a mountain climb this is a perfect walk for the dogs

This place is awesome! Lots of trails and picnic areas. There are also several baseball fields. I wish my town had something like this!

Large playground, several ballfields, a dog park and now they are close to finishing outdoor courts for tennis, basketball and pickleball.

There are other stretches of the French Broad that are more aesthetically pleasing, but around here, it's a brown snake that doesn't seem impressive. If you pass through the city without stopping here, you're not missing anything given the profligate majestic clear waterfalls in the mountains nearby. However, there is a decent pedestrian infrastructure built up around this bridge, and several restrooms, launch facilities for watercraft, and other useful features. For the more casual or local user, it's at least a waterfront that has been well developed for public use.

Quick hint- if you GPS the actual dog park, you will be taken down a side road and directed to climb down through some overgrowth. Take the normal park entrance and follow the paved path to the dog park entrance. This park is beautiful with huge shade giving maple trees and a wide, well paved path. The dog park was pretty empty on Thursday afternoon due to the rainy weather. However our other visitors who were very welcoming and had very friendly dogs. Stopped by again today, before road-tripping home, and it was just as fun. Lots more visitors and other dogs to play with or just chase. Our dog was even greeted by one of the Thursday people. Just a nice place to spend some time. The area is well kept and they have a good amount of supplies to keep it picked up.
