There are other stretches of the French Broad that are more aesthetically pleasing, but around here, it's a brown snake that doesn't seem impressive. If you pass through the city without stopping here, you're not missing anything given the profligate majestic clear waterfalls in the mountains nearby. However, there is a decent pedestrian infrastructure built up around this bridge, and several restrooms, launch facilities for watercraft, and other useful features. For the more casual or local user, it's at least a waterfront that has been well developed for public use.

Take the normal park entrance and follow the paved path to the dog park entrance. This park is beautiful with huge shade giving maple trees and a wide, well paved path. The dog park was pretty empty on Thursday afternoon due to the rainy weather. However our other visitors who were very welcoming and had very friendly dogs. Stopped by again today, before road-tripping home, and it was just as fun. Lots more visitors and other dogs to play with or just chase. Our dog was even greeted by one of the Thursday people. Just a nice place to spend some time. The area is well kept and they have a good amount of supplies to keep it picked up.

It's situated along the running trail in Spa which is convenient if you're nearby. They've updated a lot in the last year by adding shade structures and picnic tables. There's a beautiful metal archway with vines growing and 2 baby pools you can fill with water for your pup to cool down in. Agility toys have been installed so your fur baby can jump across tires or swerve through poles. It's a good size park with enough room to enjoy your own space while other dogs play. Be sure to check out the community board for upcoming events and don't forget to pick up after your pup!

Not only does Dapper Dog have the best customer service, they also have one of the nicest owners. My husband and I have a deaf two year old dog and it's been difficult to find someone that would help train her. Sean was so kind to help us and to give us tips for things to do with her at home. Our dog knew basic commands already, but we needed to teach her how to pay attention to us when we were outside, and how to get her attention in high stimulation environments. The main feature here is the baseball field that has been completely fenced in and converted into the running space for the large dogs. Shaded in places but with a ton of space for canines to run around. Two separate runs for smaller dogs. What's neat is that each of the dog parks has a separate entrance and exit lobby for safety to ensure that dogs are leashed and secure before leaving the park. Absolutely awesome.
