Great place, excellent staff! Fox and Otter is so much fun for all ages!! The puzzles were challenging enough and yet also solvable. In August 2020, we (2 families) were looking for a place to get together in Asheville area that was fun for the adults and kids, while also covid-prevention responsible (high standard cleaning procedures and private-play rooms). Ferrin (one of the creative geniuses of the company) was so accommodating in our first escape room adventure. He was friendly, patient, and excited to share his passion for the puzzles. The family-friendly room was a blast!! The kids (three kids ranging from 6 to 9yrs old) had so much fun, working together to solve the problems and the adults had a ton of fun too working alongside the kids. The kids kept asking when we can go back. So in late June 2021, we tried a game a level-up. It was fabulous too! Emily (very patient and friendly worker) was great with the kiddos and we had another wonderful adventure!! The kids are already asking for more, and we adults loved it too. My family really loves this place. My 9 year old daughter has done this with friends, grandparents a few times over the past 2 years....the grownups enjoyed it just as much as the kids. I love that it is not scary, but still intense. I was able to take my 4 year old with us. While he wasn't able to understand and play along, but the staff were welcoming of him and he was content to hang out while we solved the puzzles. We did this recently during Covid and it felt safe (everything was sanitized, we were the only people I saw other than Emily, the game host). It was just me and my daughter so it was a little different. Emily adjusted the game so that it wasn't impossible to solve with just two people and she didn't make fun of my non functioning brain (this is happening to other people during Covid right?) She was great! We've had a good experience at both of the locations. If you aren't sure what game is right for you, I'd recommend calling as they will explain the different levels and get a feel for what would be a good fit. Took my escape-room-loving family here while on vacation in Asheville and we were blown away! We booked two rooms (their seasonal room & Da Vinci's Diamond) and both rooms were amazingly fun with lots of puzzles to solve...we were running around for the entire 60 minutes! Everyone will get a chance to solve something in these rooms, regardless of experience level. In addition, the rooms were really well built and far above what you might find in your "average" escape room. But beyond the amazing rooms, the customer service here is what will keep us coming back on our next visits. The owners are super friendly and their passion for escape rooms (and Asheville in general) is evident! They even gave us a list of things to do AFTER we left their escape rooms...which did not disappoint! Whether you're a local or just visiting, you've got to try this place. read more

I can't say enough good things about this company. A good escape room gives you challenging puzzles within a reasonable time limit. This company accomplishes both. The room was beautifully and professionally designed with a perfect mix of technology and good old fashioned puzzles! I felt as though the pacing of puzzles was perfect for the amount of time. The owners were incredibly kind and hospitable! Their entire family is involved in the presentation and greeted us when we arrived. They are invested in the community and donate to causes they are passionate about, which we loved. We had a blast and will definitely be back each time they change up the rooms. This was my second time to Fox N Otter Escape Rooms, and the experience was just as awesome as the first time I was there. This time, we played the rather excellent seasonal escape room, "Winter Wonderland" - beautifully holiday themed with the 12 Days of Christmas, a toy train set, a naughty or nice list, and so much more. Just like the last time I was there (playing the superlatively-good DaVinci Diamond), I was incredibly impressed by the attention to detail. The setting was well thought out, the puzzles were extremely satisfying, the propers were just right, and the staff were incredibly friendly. I visited Fox n Otter with a church youth group while at Montreat Conference Center. We did the Da Vinci Diamond room, and were able to make it out with eleven minutes to spare. The room was challenging but not to the point where we were unable to solve it. The owner engaged us while in the room, offering occasional advice and funny comments. He made the experience much, much better. The owner was funny, kind and open, truly caring about the people that come to his business. It is obvious that he cares deeply about fun, making sure to brighten the experience for all, young or old. We had an amazing time, and I would fully recommend Fox n Otter to anyone looking to have fun. read more

After doing many "adults only" Escape Rooms as a couple, we were so excited to find one we could take our kids to! We visited over Memorial Day weekend and completed the room with 12 minutes left to go- our group was made up of two adults and two children ages 10 and 6. We were able to work together as a family (Mom and Dad held back when appropriate) and save the world! We really enjoy d our interaction with the owner and his daughters- his passion for his business is evident and his attention to detail is amazing! We had so much fun! Emily was an awesome host and helped us throughout the entire experience. Lots of puzzles and clues that kept us all guessing...we had to go a tad bit beyond the 60min time frame as Escape Room "first-timers", but she was very accommodating. Nice that it was a group effort with adults figuring out some clues, and kids others. Talked about the experience the rest of the day. Would highly recommend for tourists (like us) or locals wanting a fun way to stretch their brain muscles! Probably best for kids 6+ but my 4.5 year old played with toys in the room with us, so I guess he made his own fun! read more

We were in Asheville for the day during our NC vacation and decided to try the mall location. Our experience was adjusted a little due to covid-19 precautions but it was still so enjoyable! We were able to do a private room for just the two of us at a reasonable price and it was awesome! The puzzles were challenging and fun. The room itself had some surprises and I never felt bored while we were trying to put the yes together. Our room host, Jon, was helpful and fun and made the experience all the more enjoyable! Five friends and I did the DaVinci Diamond room, and had an amazing time. The room was extremely intricate and well put together, it was challenging, but doable, we made it out with 11 minutes to spare. It is a very local family owned business with amazing customer service. The owner was extremely kind, funny, and open. In the room he would talk to us often, whether to give us a clue, or to make a joke, he was always there to release the high pressure of the room. I would highly recommend Fox and Otter Adventure Games to anyone who is looking for a fun and challenging adventure. read more

We celebrated a shared birthday by escaping the Davinci Diamond room with family and friends. We had 4 adults, two 10 year olds and two 14 year olds. Everyone had a great time and everyone was able to participate. Some of us have done other rooms in Asheville, Orange beach, and Chicago (both independent and chains). This was definitely one of our favorites! It was jam packed with a variety of puzzles and kept everyone fully engaged for the whole time. The owner was very friendly and we will definitely go back. This place exceeded all expectations--from the awesome customer service, to our super helpful game host, Emily, to the fun and challenging puzzles and details of our game room--we loved every minute of our time at FNO! I've done escape rooms before at big chains, but in my opinion, this place was way more fun and a good deal less expensive. My 9 yo daughter and her friends had THE BEST time here while celebrating her birthday. They couldn't stop talking about their experience and every girl went home asking their parents to let them have their parties here as well. The owner was awesome and I really enjoyed watching the girls on the TVs in the lobby while he talked me through what they were working on and made interesting observations about their strategies. We had never done an escape room before and Fox-N-Otter far exceeded our expectations. I went with my 10 and 11 year old boys who thought the experience was absolutely amazing. We had so much fun working together to solve the puzzles. It's a great family activity that promotes teamwork and communication. We had a blast at FnO!!! Great experience for our family of 5. The owners are awesome and engaged our young kids with kindness and encouragement. Perfect intentional environment for teamwork, family communication, and big time FUN!!!! Visiting from Atlanta again and this was the only "Must Do" activity as requested by the kids (11, 7 and 4). We've done several escape rooms as a family and my son wanted to do one with a couple of friends for his birthday. I am so glad we chose Fox-N-Otter because they turned out to be fantastic. The DaVinci Diamond room is one of the best we've done. Good story, good props, lots of excitement, and opportunities for everyone share in the action. Our family of four had a great time in this Fox-N-Otter Escapes. We teamed with family friends. Their daughter and our sons (kids ages 6-11) worked together with us and everyone felt included and had something to contribute. Amy was an awesome guide and helped make the most of our visit. We love to do escape rooms and had always traveled out of town to do them. We decided to try Fox and Otter here at home. We went with our small group from church and had an absolute blast!!
