There's a list of all their wines but she picked out most of our pours while telling a story with the names. A lot of the wines have dirty names, so it was pretty funny. Connie also gave us the disclaimer upfront that they're a pretty laid back winery and to be prepared to have a great time. She was very personable and made the whole experience very enjoyable. Even though I'm usually more of a semi-dry wine drinker, I really enjoyed most of their sweet wines. They have a few pomegranate wines which were really good. They also carry some food, like cheese, flavored pretzels, and local products like honey and jams. I left with a few bottles and a smile. Even though it's a far drive from Buffalo, I hope to come back here again.

She wanted to set me up with a flight but we were pressed for time. Instead she allowed us to sample what we wanted. We almost bought a bottle of everything we tried. We left out with 6 bottles. At that time, it felt like a true bed-and-breakfast experience with thoughtful personal touches (guests were welcomed with a bottle of wine, breakfast was full and clearly made with care, and the overall atmosphere felt warm and attentive). Over the past couple of years, especially since the addition of their second location, I've noticed some changes in the overall experience. The level of personal interaction feels more limited than it used to, and check-in and general hospitality have become more minimal. I do understand how difficult it can be to find and retain good staff in the hospitality industry, and I appreciate the effort that goes into running a business like this. The biggest change for me has been the food and dining experience. They are no longer offering a bottle of wine in the room, but a glass of wine ordered at the bar. Breakfast, which used to be a real highlight is now much more basic and doesn't feel as thoughtfully prepared as it once did. Pricing has also increased, while the overall food offerings have decreased in both variety and quality. One of our favorite extras used to be the charcuterie platter for two, which we would order one each stay and enjoy in our room. We've stopped ordering it because both the portion size and product quality no longer felt consistent with the price or with our earlier experiences. Overall, I still like Deer Creek Inn, our favorite rooms are the Brooks Deluxe Suite and the Celebration room. We will continue to visit occasionally, but it no longer has quite the same special feel it once did for us, so I won't be going as often as I used to.

It's a laid-back atmosphere that also doubles as an event space. They have weddings, parties, benefits, and other parties at the lodge. The price for renting it actually seemed very reasonable for everything that you get. In the summertime they have a large outside seating area and the inside seating area is quite large as well. The lodge was decorated for a Halloween party the day that we were there and looked very nice. Prices for wine were very reasonable so we got a couple of bottle. We were able to try as many as we liked which was super helpful. I had a hot sausage sandwich with peppers and onions with my wine and they also had fresh smoked pulled pork available the day we went. Delish! I highly recommend stopping here if you are on your way through youngsville.

First, the wine was delicious. Everything we tried was good to me but you could only pick 5 wines for everyone to try as opposed to picking individually based on what the persons preference is. The room was spacious but it was extremely hot (unusually in September) and the employee could not get the speaker to work so we couldn't play music. Overall we still had a great time and I think at only $20 per person it was still a fair price point. They even had a cute patio upstairs. I would love to go back and do my own tasting with other wines!

The rooms and lodge itself have been designed for the most comfort. Every little detail from the cookies in your room when you check in, to the amenities in the common areas insure that the tranquil feeling stays. If you're lucky enough to do the taste of the wilds dinner, I highly recommend doing the wine pairing with it. Everything was paired out so perfectly and it was one of the most enjoyable meals we've ever had. The sommelier was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate when sharing the information about the wine. All the staff went out of their way to ensure you had the best service.

That's the kind of thing you remember long after checkout.
