Odd review. We stopped in for just cocktails this evening and the bar and restaurant were very busy. Explaining to the hostess that we just wanted cocktails she pointed out. We could sit in a few minutes at the bar as soon as it freed up she was lovely and unfortunately, I did not catch her name. Every restaurant should have someone like her. She was patient kind and very informative while we didn't stay she was super amazing and ownership should clone her for context. Great selection of wine and bourbon. The food was good, but not great. I had a steak pasta in a pepper cream sauce, and the pasta and sauce were really good but the steak tips themselves were very underwhelming and lacking any seasoning. First time at Flight West this past weekend! We loved the ambience of the dark dining room. The bar is to the right, and seating to the front and left. It was small and intimate, perfect for date night! We ordered the steak flatbread for an appetizer to split - honestly, the best dish of the night! It's deconstructed, with flat bread pieces, steak on the side, whipped ricotta and onions on the side. We built it up, and it was soooooo good. Highly recommend! My main course was the gnochhi in red sauce with grilled chicken. It was flavorful, well seasoned. My husband had the special - a porkchop. It was very tender and well seasoned as well. Went with some family for the first time Friday evening. Cool vibe--trendy, a bit noisy--but in a good way. Nice, interesting cocktails...food was delicious!! Breast poutine I ever had...house made, fresh cut fries with braised beef, cheese curd, and a rich brown gravy! At first, i didn't even think there were fries! Got about one quarter through the bowl before I found them!! There was so much beef!! Another family member had their burger, which she highly recommended and was my 2nd choice (next time for sure)!! Would not recommend if you have any dietary restrictions. Mostly meat dishes, and the few pescatarian or vegetarian dishes include spice or tomato which didn't work for me because of heartburn. Had a solid plan for what to eat but unfortunately they sold out before 7. The final kicker was the "house pretzel" menu item that came out as bread bites flavored as pretzel, misleading description. Environmentally, music was a bit loud and tables were too close. I'm sure there are gems on the menu and it's worth trying for sure, especially if you're a meat eater. Service was warm and friendly, food came out at good pace. Only negative about our experience was it seemed they were understaffed, causing a delay in drink service as well as trying to pay our bill. It took about 25 min from the time our server dropped off the bill to when they returned to pickup our payment. Not the server's fault, as they were spread pretty thin. Went there today and it was nearly empty our waitress was awesome however the food was very lacking I got the fish special over coleslaw ( it came over a bed of lettuce ) my husband got a burger it was just ok the bun was rock hard the meat was over cooked and the fries though fresh cut were soggy and overly salted we shared the kung pow calamari it had a good flavor but was soggy and under cooked drinks were the only thing worth the price tag $130 for two drinks and appetizer and two entrees given how terrible they were we won't be back sad it was one of our favorite high end places to eat in Greece honestly McDonald's would have been better read more

I wanted one of each. I ended up trying some wines and my boyfriend tried some whiskies. We love the concept of appetizer foods with the star of the show being their drinks. Have some drinks with a few bites of food here and there. For food I would highly recommend the poutine. The beef on top was melt in your mouth. I also loved the homemade jerky sample. So unique you never see that on a menu. I also loved their smoked wings. They had a ton of Smokey flavor. Great place to bring friends to get together or celebrate. I was excited to visit Flight West under new ownership. it is the same great food and service. we tried several appetizers and entree that included a wide variety of choices from beef to eggplant to seafood. The grilled octopus was amazing and the whipped ricotta appetizer was so deliscious with in season heirloom tomatoes. Simple ingredients shine when so well prepared. All dishes were outstanding and the portions were perfect . The wines were well curated. we tried both red and white and not one was a disappointment. Kudos to the staff selecting the wines. I look forward to trying the cocktails next time after watching the bar staff prepare them and seeing so many customers enjoy them. it might be called a wine and bourbon bar but it also is clearly a cocktail bar. it is a hidden gem on the west side. I'm not typically a rose kind of a gal, but these were very good! My friend had one of the rum drinks and he said it was amazing. We paired our drinks with a cheese board. This place reminds me a lot of similar places I've been in New York City... except that if this place were in NYC, it wouldn't be the same, because it would be overcrowded with patrons. The atmosphere here is quite relaxed and cozy. The decor is simple yet welcoming. The whiskey selections here are quite impressive and in general reasonably priced for 2 oz. pours. They also have several flights available, typically 1 oz. pours of 3 liquors at a comparable price, and some of these are not necessarily available on the menu. They also have wine and an interesting selection of cocktails too, as well as food. Closing time on weekends may be a bit nebulous - websites may list a specific time, but on the door, the closing time is listed as "closing," which I assume means as fitting for the evening's business. I did not expect to find such an enjoyable whiskey bar in the suburbs of Rochester, and I hope to be able to return from time to time. read more

We both got the special, Braised 8oz Filet and scalloped potatoes. It was tasteless, We had to ask for A1 but they had no steak sauce, they had BBQ and honey mustard. We didn't care we got both that's how bad the food had no flavor. The sauces were very good. The quality of the steak and how it was cooked was on point it just needed seasoning on it. Especially considering it was $49. We decided to try the dessert, we chose the chocolate cake, it had a raspberry glaze on the plate with homemade cream. This dessert looked amazing but was horrible.. it was again another tasteless dish. It's like they forgot to add the sugar atleast a little bit. It tasted like straight cocoa powder. Our waitress was SO excited when she was describing the menu - she clearly loved the chef and the drinks, but would we love it as much as she did? The answer: surprisingly, YES! First off, the bar is SO COOL. Not only does it look so cute (like a liquor library) but there are so many options. They have very high level liquors you can get a flight they have curated. My favorite part were their infusions. They have liquor soaking in things, like four roses bourbon with banana and peanut butter, and tequila with mango and jalapeño. Those were our two favorites and were so unique and delicious! Everything we got for dinner was also excellent including special wings, octopus, lamb lollipops, and tuna tartare. Rarely do we get to the west side to dine but three of our group live in Greece and suggested this location. One commented it was the only decent place in Greece! The place was packed on a rainy Tuesday night. And it was loud. Fortunately we had a reservation and got the only table off by itself so we could talk. Just an observation: this place is very popular with groups of women. The only issue the whole evening was that the service was very slow. They appear to be understaffed. My friend who is a regular was surprised. Plenty of wine to chose from - I ordered a lighter red flight. All were good. The highlight was the awesome Lobster Mac and Cheese. Delicious!
