Such a great local wine bar! Went for our first time over the weekend and it was so cozy and warm and the wine selection was plentiful. The staff was also very friendly and attentive. Our evening consisted of ordering Prosecco, old fashioned's, tuna tartare and burrata. The food had a stunning presentation and tasted delicious. I thought it went very well with my Prosecco! We had such a wonderful time that I cannot wait to return.

The server was very good but the pizza took a very long time to arrive. It appeared they may have been understaffed. We had a Pepperoni and mushroom Pizza that was good but one piece had something on it that tasted and looked like a piece of meat fat. We advised and showed the server what we found and she said it appeared to be chicken. (It was inedible grissel) We have never experienced that with a Pizza and was potentially a health hazard. It did appear that they have declined since our last visit.

It is kind of hard to find a restaurant if one is not familiar with the area. I got there late, and the food was not served yet. I ordered my food, and then, we all got the food at the same time. Good. Two pounds of mussels across from me were shared by some at the table. I saw pastas, fried calamari, and Steak Salad(I was not too impressed by it), I got the Pork Chop. It was tender, although I ordered cook well done. The sauce was delicious. It came with Shoestring Fries. Tasty. A glass of Precose to wash everything down. Refreshing Caitlin, our server, was excellent. I told her to bring the special Orange Chocolate Torte for the Birthday Girl with a little candle, and she did in the end. It was a big enough piece of cake that we shared it after singing Las Mañanitas to her. We left happy.

If you enjoy Greek cusine, this is hands down the best Greek restaurant experience I have ever encountered in the greater Rochester area. Consistently fresh food. Reasonable service time. Attentive staff with great timing and not overbearing. (The owner makes time to visit my party every time I am there). The atmosphere is modern and classy without being tacky. It's a great restaurant for a first date or a special occasion. I like the quality and service so much I will go solo after a long days work and enjoy a glass of wine with some Spanakopita and Dolmades. The attire is casual (you could show up in a nice shirt and jeans and feel welcome), but business casual is where you would land most comfortably. I could spend more time on the menu, but I haven't tried everything quite yet, however I plan on trying everything here. The specials always distract me from getting what I had originally had in mind. I rarely write reviews, and moreover, I rarely give five stars...

Quick service, drinks, and food. Now for the food. The salmon was done perfectly and she made sure to ask me exactly how I wanted it done. The salad was good, delicious Asian teriyaki dressing. The steak was virtually uneatable. Tough, and chewy. Had to discard almost all of it, discretely, since we were with another couple. Hence we never told our waitress. Great beer, cocktails & wine selection. I had the red cab Ross and it was very nice. I will try this place again. Love the location so many quaint shops are g and beautiful to walk around the canal.

I am generally reluctant to order lobster bisque because so often it disappoints, but this was absolutely amazing, with chunks of lobster swimming in a wonderfully balanced bisque. The bread was warm and fresh. I also had the haddock French. A great sauce with properly prepared fish and pasta. The tiramisu was delicious as well, tho I ordered it more out of curiosity than because I needed more to eat. I waddled out very pleased with the food, the service, and knowing we'd be back soon. This was a very pleasant surprise.

While planning our dinner party months in advance, the communication from Janine was excellent. She helped us develop a 4-course menu that was sure to have something for everyone, including vegan and allergy friendly options. Amy was our server for the evening, and she ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy our evening. The chairs in the Meyer's Den are wide and comfortable, the decor is dark and classy, and being in the basement away from the dining room made it very quiet and easy to converse with family. The room is rather spacious for 12 guests, but could also accommodate a few more people without feeling cramped. Out of the appetizers we selected, the Charred Octopus was very popular and everyone enjoyed it...even those that had never previously eaten octopus. The baby cauliflower dish was also a beautiful presentation, and quite large and enjoyable. The salads, particularly the Charred Hurricane salad, were nice light courses before the entree was served. As for the entrees, the filet mignon was a little on the dry side, but we really enjoyed the light and crispy spinach fritters that accompanied the beef. The salmon was a generous portion of medium rare fish, and there was lot going on with that dish - spicy cauliflower and za'atar potatoes that had some mixed reviews. Folks who ordered the duck breast seemed to enjoy the complex preparation, which had asparagus, green beans, and two pureed sauces - cauliflower ginger and cherry-rhubarb. The doughnut bread pudding with apple pieces and vanilla ice cream was a delicious, decadent way to end the meal. We left rather stuffed, and delighted with the overall experience that allowed our family to celebrate together.

It feels like a hidden locals-only joint where you can grab a glass of your fave from a thoughtfully curated list of delicious options, and settle in with your better half, besties or a group of friends and just chill. We've been to Apogee a number of times before and 'after' covid, in colder months when we've been lucky to snag a window table, and in warmer times, like tonight, when we can sit outside and enjoy the flickering fireflies along with our sparkling rosè. Besides the pleasant atmosphere, Apogee has a beautifully appointed interior space, clean bathrooms, and a menu with cheese plates, cake, and more wines than you could taste in a summer. All of that plus super knowledgable 'bar tenders' (more like wine sommeliers) who can take your possibly clumsy description of what you think you want and offer up several perfect options, and you have the makings of a very pleasant evening. Book mark this place and plan to spend at least an hour enjoying an outside table!

As a special events venue, Apogee was flexible with outside food and also with decorations. There was no additional venue rental/site fee, just a minimum spend amount (which we were confident that we would exceed). The venue is cozy and intimate, but has high ceilings so it did not feel claustrophobic at all, even with 30+ guests at one point. I'm a wine snob myself, so I was a bit skeptical initially when I saw their wine list. Most of the wines they serve retail for $10-20. They do have some bottles that are more expensive (retail ~$30). However, after tasting some of their entry level wines (Ancient Peaks Zinfandel & Gouguenheim Malbec), my worries vanished. Everything I tasted was excellent and drank better than their actual price point. Steve was a great host. He was laid back, but still friendly and attentive to all of our guests. He made sure everybody's drink needs were satisfied. He was also flexible with letting us in the venue early to set up and also staying late to clean up. I also liked the fact that they allowed us to bring our own wine, for a $15 per bottle corkage fee, which is fair. Anyways, Apogee is a great venue for a small party. They are flexible and reasonable. I would definitely recommend them as a wine bar and for hosting a private event (especially on a Sunday).
