A little restaurant in Seneca Falls that I immediately thought.... "Former bar" You walk in and honestly, it feels like a small Eddie O'Briens or felt more like an old Parker's restaurant. If you're from that area, you'd get what I mean with that comparison. It's a nice little place. I hadn't been to Seneca Falls in YEARS! At least downtown. I mean, I'm talking...yeeeaaars! So it was nice to go out for an evening there. Downtown is very homey, very clean, very "little northeast town" vibes. The restaurant...pretty much the same. Very clean, very small, nice atmosphere. I'll start with the prices lol. ... EXPENSIVE! I say it like that because...I think Seneca Falls and think...not expensive, but on the more affordable scale. I only ordered a salad and it was like $25. For a Cesar salad. Crazy. I rarely order anything big when I go out anyway. I'm definitely the cheap one in my NY squad haha! I'm ok with that. I also almost always order a salad when I go out bc I eat salads...a lot!! The rest of the menu, yeah, definitely google that ish before you go. It's pricey. Is it Ports expensive? Nah. Ports is INSAAAANELY overpriced and for absolutely no good reason at all! Food is good, but not THAT good and their portions are tiny. Flint and Stave at least you do get larger portions. Massive? No, but decent. Again, it's so small and feels like a bar, not a restaurant. So I was taken aback by the prices, but again...I'm a cheap fker lol. Even if I wasn't, I'd still be like... $60 for THAT at this bar?!? Hahaha! One small bit, they do not have Dr. Pepper. I told the waitress that would be going in this review. Her exact words were "crazy right? And Dr Pepper is the owners favorite" Almost every restaurant has Coke products and with that...Dr. Pepper. Yeah, not this place lol. Just a suggestion.... Add that to your menu of sodas. Your customers will smile as a result especially if they hate regular Pepsi or regular Coke. Both are nasty af tbh lol. The waitress. Ooooooh weeee! Where do I begin! I wanna be nice here bc don't get me wrong, she was suuuper sweet. She was this very very bouncy energetic little thing. The type that wakes up every morning and no matter what....is ready to go haha! I'll start with the positives and most are. Maybe we were being picky, but you be the judge. So she was very efficient. Paid close attention to our table. Then again, the place was pretty empty and for a Saturday night. It was the 6 or 7 of us and one other table with 2 people and one person at the bar (girl I grew up with lol) So she wasn't swamped, but we appreciated her being there when we needed her...and didn't appreciate her being there when we didn't lol. That sounds means, but, whoever you are (don't hate me for this bc you really are a nice person) but she would appear out of nowhere and kinda join in on our conversation. We were talking about people from our past, our times in elementary through high school and she was there for almost all of those conversations. Keep in mind, none of us had ever met her before lol. I think she went to Waterloo or Seneca Falls and she was a few years younger than all of us. So she would have graduated AFTER us haha! I could tell some of my friends were highly annoyed by her. Again, she's very very nice, I think she just needs to pick and choose the times she inserts herself into a tables conversation. Was she funny? She absolutely was. I'd be lying if I said we didn't laugh at her and her jokes, but yeah, some times, it's just not the right time to add your two cents to a conversation about things...you would have never been around for hahaha! I feel bad saying this, because like I said, she is very nice and very positive. I just wanted to say this so someone else doesn't like...jump down her throat right there at the restaurant. Then again, is a review about it the right way? I dunno. I just feel like for her benefit, this should be said. I'll probably end up feeling bad an delete this later lol. I hate to say anything bad about her or anyone especially since in this case, she did have some wonderful qualities and I'm sure there are tons who love that side of her. It probably benefits her more than anything, but yeah, just saying this for the ones who may not take it the right way. Whatever your name is, thank you for your efficiency and your wait skills when it comes to knowing everything about the menu. Thanks for the humor as well, just watch out for the ones who may take your approach the wrong way. I guess that's it. Thanks for reading YelperFlintStavers!! To the waitress, I really hope I haven't hurt your feelings here. You seem like the type that would take constructive criticism and use it. I hope that's the case. Cheers!

My wife and I were walking to another restaurant when we decided to check out the menu Flint & Stave. The bartender, who was the chef's wife went over the menu with us. We decided to stay for dinner. Service was great. Excellent draft selection. Varied menu. My wife had the Mai Tai Mahi and I had the pork belly chops. Our meal came out fast and hot! Both meals were delicious! A great find. We will be back!

Per the recommendation of some family members, we decided to have dinner at Flint & Stave (formerly known as 84 Fall.). The restaurant was recently sold and is going through some changes. Walking in and sitting down at our table gave me mixed impressions. The name of the restaurant sounds elevated, and the restaurant interior was fairly nice, (wood floors and brick walls) but it had some strange decor that I didn't find all that fitting or attractive, and the music was not appropriate for the vibe that I think they are trying to go for. Starting with the drinks: I ordered the Black Raspberry Lemon Drop, and my mom ordered the 84 Fall Cosmo. Our server knew nothing about alcohol and mixed up our drinks upon delivery. We caught the mix-up and traded drinks. Our drinks were good. Moving on to the food. We ordered the Calimari appetizer, and it was pretty good. It was cut into twisted calimari strips and served with a sweet chili sauce. The entrées however were a miss. My aunt and I both ordered the Seafood Risotto. The risotto was extremely al dente as you can see in the photo I posted, and both of our entrées were cold. It was as if the restaurant prepped the risotto earlier in the morning and didn't finish cooking it to order. The seafood was hot, so that was cooked fresh. But everything else on the plate was cold. My mom has experience in making risotto, and she mentioned that the risotto wasn't cooked with enough stock, nor did it cook long enough to release the starches needed to achieve that creamy consistency ideal in risotto. She was 100% correct. My mom ordered the Salmon Niçoise since that was the best fit for her dietary restrictions. We tried asking the server about this dish because we were quite confused by the description. Our waitress had no idea what niçoise was and mentioned that working at Flint & Stave was the first time she had heard of niçoise. My mom got her dish, and her whole meal, including the salmon, was served cold. The description on the menu said the salmon was grilled, so why was it served cold? She said her potatoes were not fresh and were most likely a few days old. Her veggies did not look good. As we discussed our meals, she said she didn't enjoy a single item on her plate. To be honest, this dish should probably be removed from the menu because it was so terrible. By this point, we were all so turned off by our entrées that we decided to skip dessert and head out. This restaurant has good potential to be something great. It just has a ways to go in refining their menu and honing in on putting out a good meal and a good experience.

Portico - Del Lago Resort & Casino (and that star is…read morefeeling generous) New Year's Eve. Bad weather. Half-empty dining room. Somehow... still disappointing. Service was fine and friendly. Thus the one star. I ordered beef carpaccio, expecting delicate raw beef. What arrived instead looked like a lonely slice of cold roast beef you'd find sweating under plastic wrap at a deli counter. Not raw. Not delicate. Just confused. The side dishes were served at outdoor temperature, which was impressive considering we were inside. The potatoes and broccoli were so cold they may have skipped the kitchen entirely and come straight from the parking lot. Then there was the steak. Ordered black and blue. What I received was neither black nor blue, but a sad shade of gray, with absolutely zero char. It looked like it had been politely warmed by someone thinking about a grill from afar. And here's the real kicker: Fabio Viviani's name is on this restaurant. If this is what's being served under his banner, someone should check on him to make sure he doesn't have dementia --because this meal looked like it would personally offend him. I can say with confidence: Fabio would not be proud. He might not even admit knowing this place. For a casino restaurant on New Year's Eve--when expectations are already modest--this was still a miss. The room was half empty, the weather was terrible, and somehow the food managed to match the weather perfectly. If you're looking for chilly sides, deli meat carpaccio, and a steak that fears a grill, Portico might be your lucky bet. Otherwise, I'd recommend rolling the dice literally anywhere else.

Stopped in for pre-dinner snacks and drinks. We sat at the bar, the team was very friendly and the…read moredrinks were reasonable and delicious. We ordered appetizers and they came out quickly! We shared the grilled octopus and the charcuterie board. The octopus was delicious! The charcuterie was a nice mix of items, except the cheese. They were out of one type and we had a LOT of blocks of a very salty cheddar. We had to leave most of it but the pieces we ate were good with the crackers & fig jam. We asked for a second drink in a plastic cup to take with us on to the floor and we were accommodated. We would definitely stop back!
