My first time here, my better half and his brother said we had to come here. Definitely not a bad choice. In fact, it was a quaint little place that felt so comfortable cozy on this cold night. We decided no appetizers since the portions are good size. They ordered veal, lasagna, and chicken Parmesan....I ordered the chicken picatta. Definitely an outstanding dish. The sauce with a great amount of mushrooms and garlic on top of the chicken sure had the best flavor. We did have salads and the bleu cheese was very tasty. I did get the winter apple cider mule, I'll be honest I was trying something different since it was my first but I didn't think it was anything special, I could only taste ginger beer. The cinnamon stick and apple slice failed to add any flavor to it. Didn't taste like any alcohol was in it. Oh well. Dinner was great so glad to have tried this place out. We made reservations for 6:30. The weather was cold and very windy so we were glad there was lots of parking nearby. The owners greeted us and we were seated quickly and given menus. Our server came over to introduce herself and tell us the specials. The entrees come with salad and some came with pasta as well. I selected the Chicken Francaise. The salad was a nice size and very fresh. The bread had a soft and fluffy texture and we had plenty for our table. My chicken was tender and cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious. Visiting Geneva for the week and have been waiting a while to try this place. There were so many good options on the menu it was hard to choose just one! I ended up going with the chef's recommendation of caprese seafood pasta and it didn't disappoint. The hubby went with traditional spaghetti and meatballs. One of the less busy place to grab some dinner around Finger Lakes. Went there on a Saturday night for dinner after walking around Watkin Glen and Geneva and got seat right away on the patio. We started with some mozzarella sticks for appetizer, then for entree we got pasta combo. Food portion was huge, especially for the pasta. Food was tasty and come out pretty fast. I went there an ordered steak special raw, it was grizzely that I couldn't cut thru it. could only eat maybe a third of it. my friend ordered her's well down and had to send it back 2 times to get so hse could eat it but by then she had it boxed. Came here while on a vacation with my wife and daughter, we were staying at a neighboring hotel. The facade is a handsome brick and mortar with a beautiful outdoor covered seating area and sidewalk tables. The menu features some classic Italian fare such as manicotti, pasta fritti, with some less oft seen like a red wine risotto. My family was visiting Geneva, NY and searching for a great Italian Restaurant. After much research, we found Consentino's Ristorante. I will say that MY food was fresh and delicious! However, the young female server made our whole experience just awful. We had a 6:45pm reservation on June 19th (a Thursday) and we were promptly seated at table 7 by a very friendly and professional hostess. When the server came to take our drink order, she got my drink completely wrong (which actually cost the restaurant) she then forgot my daughter's ginger-ale. She also didn't go over the specials or point out the wine list. When she brought our salads she did not bring the salt, pepper and cheese combo that everyone else was being brought alongside their salads. We remained cheerful and friendly but she had an obvious irritated expression on her face when we asked for the salt, pepper and cheese. The house salad was very good, but her service just went downhill from then on. There were only a few other tables at this time. It did become a bit busier later, but it's a tiny dining room. She couldn't have had more than 3-4 tables to accommodate and there were several other very professional servers waiting on other tables. I ordered the Chicken Marsala, which was delicious! My husband ordered Chicken Parmigiana, which he said was fair, at best. My daughter had the Fettuccine Alfredo, which she literally found inedible. The server never refilled our water and let all of the bread plates, salad plates, a soup cup and our entree plates pile up all around us. She never asked us if we wanted refills, or second beverages (again, costing the restaurant money). At the end of the meal, with dishes piled all around us, she didn't even ask us if we wanted coffee or dessert. I politely asked for a box for the rest of my meal and she scowled, but eventually brought it. As I said, I enjoyed my meal. My family did not like the food, or obviously the service. The rest of the staff seemed to know what they were doing and were friendly and professional. The atmosphere was very nice. If you decide to go, try not to sit at table 7 and avoid the youngest server at all costs! We have never had such terrible service! Hopefully, she won't be there long! read more

Excellent experience from being greeted at the door by Bill, a co- owner through his asking about our meals and wishing us a good evening as we left. Our server, Sarah, was outstanding. Attentive but not overbearing, friendly and efficient. The other co- owner Nancy came by our table, as she did throughout the restaurant, to check on us. Great example of how customer service should be. The food. I had the veal francais with a side of rigatoni. The sauce was flavorful and the perfect amount. The veal was in an egg batter and so tender that it melted in your mouth. Rigatoni was Al dente, as I like it, indicating that it was freshly made to order. Salad with house Italian dressing was also very good. My partner had a chicken thigh piccata special that was served with olives, and roasted red peppers over polenta. She said it was the perfect portion of chicken, very flavorful and well prepared. Both were served piping hot and generous portions. We paired dinner with a glass of montepulciano. Now for the desserts. Molten chocolate cake served in a crème brûlée style dish. Piping hot and absolutely delicious! The Italian lemon cake was excellent. Both house made and a great ending to a wonderful and pocket friendly dinner. We will definitely be back when in the area. read more

Chose the restaurant because of its connection to Restaurant Impossible. the owner sat us and he had no personality he didn't seem to care if we came in or not. The waitress was ok kind of short but also helpful. The young lady bussing the table had the best personality of all of them. The restaurant remodel was nice. it was a pretty restaurant however the coat closet was an eye sore by the men's room and the ladies room stall door had no lock. the food was not good. The calamari was overly deep fried. the sauce was good it would have been nice to have had edible calamari to eat it with. the salad and bread was good. the bread was very fresh. My scallops had no flavor and the amount of garlic on the pasta made it inedible. Everything needed seasoning my husband had the chicken parm and it was bland. we had cannoli for dessert and they were runny, missing chocolate chips and the filling was bland. The shell had flavor but it couldn't save the dish. The cost for the dinner was high. for just a few dollars more 4 of us ate at another Geneva restaurant that was fantastic. read more

Disappointing. Food and service were always excellent, but not this time. First, how does one run out of bread at 7:15 especially on a not particularly busy evening? After an interminable time a waitress finally appeared but only after the host intervened. The linguini Alfredo was a gooey, gloppy mess--unappetizing, heavy, and unpalatable. The manicotti was tasteless and resembled burritos rather than manicotti. Plus the food was only slightly warm. We assumed it needed a few more minutes in the microwave. What formerly was a fine dining experience has not merely slipped a bit, but has crashed and burned. One could overlook the obvious staffing and training issues had the food been at least decent. So sad to experience such a rapid deterioration of what used to be a restaurant to be looked forward to. read more

We saw the resturant on a recent episode of Resturant Impossible and my wife and I are a huge fan of chef Irvine and have been to several restaurants that he has remade. We understand that COVID has been a huge impact in the Geneva area and many resturants are just starting to open up again. Thr resturant is very nice from a fresh remodel I ordered a local beer and my wife local wine which we were both very pleased with. Service was slow because there was a new server being trained so we were patient. I saw the Calamari dish on RI and wanted to try that out, so that was the appetizer. The dish was different than what it was on the show, instead of the nice rings of squid of the body, I was served the tentacles with sauce that was soupy...it was supposed to have some spice to it and I ate the whole plate and the last bite I hit the heat, so it feels that the pepper was not stirred in properly to the sauce. For main entree I ordered the Risotto since I've been to other places that Robert has done a dish like this. The dish was fair, nothing spectacular that I couldn't have gotten somewhere else. My wife got the Shrimp pesto dish and again, was just average for Italian food. The staff is very nice and pleasant, the other patrons were lively and we talked about the area since we were on vacation Overall, it was an average Italian dinner, but not memorable overall for the price. It could be a lot more with work and the cook gets more familiar with the menu and more experience We wish them luck but most likely will not return on future trips read more

We (a party of 6) really enjoyed our visit. We arrived early and had a few drinks at the bar. The bartender, Karen, was outstanding and had a great personality. The owner gave us time to enjoy our cocktails and when we were ready to move to our table it was seamless. We each ordered a different meal and all were very good. We ended up at Cosentino's for dinner on Wednesday by mistake! The place we intended on going was closed, so we stopped at Cosentino's -- best mistake of the week! Everyone from the host to our server was friendly and professional, the place was clean and welcoming, and the FOOD. I had the homemade manicotti, which came with bread and a garden salad. My father had the eggplant parmesan, which came with a salad and a side of pasta. Let me tell you, this was the real Geneva Italian food that I remember from my childhood. My GF and I came to Seneca for a weekend of wine tasting. Our Airbnb host recommended Cosantino's and I'm glad they did. We ordered the calamari and it was hand down the best I ever had. Light, crispy, little bit of heat. The garlic aioli and light tomato sauce was full of flavor. I ordered seafood caprese and she ordered veal francaise and a nice bottle of Cab Franc. Huge portions and well presented. Reasonably priced too. When deciding on a place to eat the next night when our friends arrived we were so impressed that we went back. Night 2 I had the Chicken Parm, she had the Eggplant Parm, our friends had Stuffed Salmon and Fettuccine Alfredo. Oh and we had the Calamari again. Big portions yet again left no room for dessert. If I'm splitting hairs the only complaint I have is soft room temperature bread served with hard cold butter. No biggie but warmed bread or bread served with olive oil with herbs would be a nice touch. We drive to the fingerlakes 4-5 times a year. Cosantino's will now be our "Go-To". read more

I was hesitant to try this place because of the reviews but frankly - it was amazing! The staff was awesome and super prompt. The food was great - the croutons were to die for. Seriously, get a salad! I had the chicken piccata and it was also delicious. The scallops were some of the best I've ever tried. Would happily go back here. It had a laid back atmosphere and the outdoor seating looked lovely (although it was too warm for my personal liking). I hope you can enjoy it as much as we did! read more

The restaurant was good overall. Although we waited 5 minutes to be seated with multiple open tables and got no menus. They do have plexiglass between some tables, however I don't think some of the tables were spread out enough. We did wait a long time for some of our food, which was ended up being good. It's not like they're not trying. Service was friendly, and our plates looked really pretty and delicious. Unfortunately, the red sauce was dry and a bit too bold/dense. And the chicken cacciatore came with questionably cooked chicken in a watery sauce that slid right off the pasta. The Italian dressing was, however, quite good, and the Italian bread was soft. Also, a bottle of Tony's Red (a little sweet) will only cost you $15 bucks. For under $50 bucks, it's not bad. read more

We sat outside in the back which was cute but didn't like the background of a parking lot and garbage dumpster. We had a young girl who was new to being a server and she was great! Multiple people in the group got sick later that evening after eating the same seafood dishes- seafood caprese pasta. The only person who enjoyed their meal was a Cesar salad with chicken. Everyone was disappointed in the meal and didn't finish the pastas that were drowning in butter sauce. Our driver later asked our evening plans and when we told her we had come here she asked why because it's well known it is not good. As non locals we based our choice on reviews and their ability to accommodate our group. Service was fine but for our group of 8 (we had a reservation) she seemed very frazzled and if you didn't order a speciality cocktail off the menu or a glass of wine you were out of luck due to a very limited knowledge of basic cocktails. On our way out the door we learned they were on recently on the show Restaurant Impossible. There's still some big improvements that can be made. Skip it and go to the Linden Social Club down the street instead! read more

Had dinner this evening. Reviews were mixed but I figured I would try it. Ordered their 12 oz strip steak which was on special tonight. The steak was done med rare to perfection. Taste was excellent. The only problem was the vein through the center and down one side. It made 1/3 of the steak inedible. Couldn't even cut through it with the steak knife. I would have happily paid the extra buck and a half for a center cut steak. Instead I over paid for what turned out to be a 7-8 oz steak. Yes, they offered to comp a dessert. But at some point I would hope they would find that quality always wins out. read more

The food was very good, I had the chicken thighs with polenta in a lemon sauce very tasty. My husband had the seafood pasta. Very generous with the seafood and tasted fresh. Prices are a bit higher than other Italian restaurants in the area, but the quality and service is wonderful. We recently discovered Cosentino's and have been three times now. Each visit the food has been excellent and the service very good. They have wonderful gluten free options and take pride in indicating that they ensure no cross contamination for allergy reasons. The steamed clam appetizer has a light butter wine sauce that truly makes this dish wonderful. Each order includes roughly 18-20 clams that taste fresh and are clean. Seafood fra diavolo has an amazing sauce, spicy and flavorful. Dish has plenty of seafood and does not suffer one bit from being prepared with gluten free pasta. The broiled scallop dinner includes four scallops that are truly jumbo, sweet and cooked to perfection. The pasta side is so, so. The red sauce is a bit sweet and, not being a personal fan of sweet red sauce, I typically ask for an upgrade to the spicy fra diavolo which adds $2 to the meal. Desserts are very good, with the gluten free Creme Brulee being the star. Very light and cooked perfectly. A nice ending to the meal. Service, from first greeting to paying the bill, was prompt and very friendly. Overall a very good dining experience and worth a visit when on vacation or visiting the wine trail. read more

I went with some friends after visiting a winery. We were excited to have a good meal and a glass of wine. The restaurant was clean, the wait staff was friendly. However, in a nearly empty restaurant we waited over 10 minutes to be seated. The food was acceptable- it didn't stand out at all (Olive Garden would have tasted better). This 1 star is because the owner/manager was incredibly rude to our party. As a larger party (of 10), they asked us to quiet down, which we did and we apologized profusely. There was no issue until we paid our separate checks, then the manager came over and said she called the police. No explanation was given. The owner then came over and was rude as well. We decided to wait outside for the police just to show that we had paid our bill. The owner and manager were unable to provide a single reason as to why they had called the police, the two officers wished us a good evening and left. read more
