Usually the mint is put on the pillow and not just a random pill under the nightstand with the dust.

Both receptionists I spoke with were very pleasant and that is where ALL decency at The Gould Hotel ends. From sheets and comforters covered in black cat hair on both beds to windowsills covered with cat hair to hairballs all over the floor of the room as well as specks of kitty litter in the closet and some form of pill under the nightstand alongside all the dust to the bathroom overbearingly smelling of bleach. I can truly say I have had better sleeping quarters in the Army while deployed in 3rd world country's! Thee ONLY reason I am leaving a review is to better warn you if you are considering a room there... after seeing the room I immediately brought it up to the receptionist. It was supposed to be cleaned while the wife and I had dinner (not at the hotel though... no no no that's all shut down) long story short we get back the rooms not touched hours later still. We start getting dressed for the concert and that's where the most awkward hotel moment of my 48 yr life happens. There's a knock we answer the hotel worker says she'll come back and could she take our desk chair... sure whatever. We go and have a great time at the concert and come back to the door open with our bags inside as well as fresh sheets and a lot less hair but still a disgusting room that now burned the nose from bleach and made the eyes itchy from what I assume to be cat dander? That was enough to leave at 10:30-11 pm to drive 2 hrs home. The hotel declined any refund stating they have a 48hr cancelation policy; I am not even going to try and figure that out or inquire any further. I figure if the Gould Hotel is going to cost me money I will try and reciprocate them and save you the headache of dealing with the place.

We went here tonight for dinner. The food was pretty good. I enjoyed my food, as did my parents. The pumpkin squash ravioli was great. I'm not sure the exact name of the dish but it had a really good (sweet) flavor. The pizza looked good. The chicken sandwich looked really good. Next time I will have to try that. My husband didn't care for his shrimp pasta though. I was a little skeptical at first because the ambiance wasn't great. Blue walls and an uninviting dinning room. They did have a pretty good band playing though (called Major Key). They were a little loud for eating dinner though.

    Nicely decorated for the holidays.

The bar was hopping and the restaurant had a few diners. Tried this with my colleague. Theresa our server was pleasant and helpful. More impressive is that she's only been there for two days. She gave good insight into the menu even willing to provide dessert options so we could plan ahead. The chicken French was nicely breaded and baked over thin flavorful artichoke, tomatoes and garlic. Not too heavy but well seasoned. My colleague had a strip steak that he said was perfectly prepared. For desert the chocolate cake was moist, and rich. (I took part back to the room for tomorrow ) He ordered carrot cake and said it was very good. Would highly recommend this restaurant if you're in Seneca Falls. The hotel is a must in the area. The rooms are awesome. Quality craftsmanship throughout. After a long day at work, Gloria was at the front desk and welcomed me back each day with a smile. This time of year is special as they play It's a Wonderful Life in the lobby. Great way to get in the Christmas spirit.

My boyfriends family and I stopped at the Gould for dinner last weekend and had a great meal! The restaurant is well decorated and seems to be a staple in downtown Seneca Falls. We ordered several appetizers and were very impressed with the arancini and wings! For entrees, I ordered the chicken piccata special which was good but fairly average. The service was also a bit slow on a Saturday night, they seemed to be slightly understaffed. Overall, I would go back for a quality meal.

Rice balls and BBQ chicken wings.

Would have gone 5 stars for the rice balls, but sauce wasn't Italian. Husband had chicken wings.

The room decor was cool but cobwebs all over the light fixtures. Breakfast was unimpressive. Bed was comfortable so that's a plus.

While the ambience appears nice, whoever washes the restaurant floor does so in a manner that leaves you sticking to the floor across the entire dining room. We were seated immediately with only a couple of other diners at tables, so there was very little activity when we arrived. We were given the opportunity to order drinks and food at the same time, and did so. At around 6:20, we had received drinks, but nothing else. No other attention was paid to us by our waiter. I did notice, however, that our waiter was engaged in a significant conversation with folks at the bar. When I went up to the bar to inquire as to our status, we saw clear evidence that our food order had never been put into the system and directed to the kitchen. I asked specifically if that was the case, and I was assured that didn't happen. Yet we didn't receive our food until 6:50, and it came out one meal at a time. The food at this restaurant is rather pricey, and if the food quality had been high, I would not have complained. But the food was lousy. It's about the only way I can describe it. Of the four meals ordered, only one was satisfactory. Brussel sprouts appetizer however was fairly good. The waiter used a momentary power glitch during a rain storm as the excuse for our order not getting to the kitchen, but the facts of the situation told a very different story. Not being told the truth when I made a direct request as to why our food was delayed, is flat out Unacceptable. I cannot recommend this restaurant under any circumstances. They've been in business under this name for two years, which is plenty of time to get their act together. They simply need to do much better or they won't survive.

With them closing at 9pm we understood to get our order in before the kitchen closed. We were sat near the front bar area with one other table nearby. Our waiter, younger guy who told us he was heading to college took our drink orders - I ordered an old-fashioned. The old-fashioned was not. At all. Oh well. To start we ordered the crab Rangoon cheese sticks and the Birria quesadilla. The cheese sticks came with sweet and sour sauce. These were ok - but cool on the inside. A dash cooler than lukewarm. Don't know. The Birria? Never came before entree. As an entree I ordered the steak which I ordered medium and came with mixed veg and potatoes. Then things really started to unravel. Our waiter took the time to talk to the nearby table about his busy schedule, his sports and theater productions, for a good 10-12 minutes. Meanwhile we were still waiting on that second appetizer, needed a refill, and hopefully our entrees. The other waitress had to bring out our meals. The sides were flavorful and good - the steak that our waiter piped up about? Cold. Shocking given the roundtable discussion with only one table and the kitchen having only two things to prepare. Also, steak wasn't medium. We asked about the Birria which "never was put in" and given how poorly the steak was I said I wanted the item. Birria was good but the consume dipping sauce was just red like cough syrup. For dessert we got the peanut butter pie. It was ok. Overall I would like to say it was OK (3 stars) but with the spotty service, the mediocre food - I have to go 2/5

Long review! Ok,…read moredrinks were perfect. The house white chard I would def recommend. Wings: 10/10 crispy how they should be and it's a true mild, not spicy st all. Pulled pork sandwich: I love the vinegar base that didn't overpower but complicated the sauce. The sauce did not overpower anything. They gave the perfect amount of sauce. We opted to put the coleslaw on the side. Coleslaw: perfect amount seasoning and sweet and tart. Po boy sandwich: the seasoning was delicious. The spice crept up but on in a very slow building way that was enjoyable. My only issue, and it's why we couldn't give a 5 star in the Food category, the shrimp was a little too salty. But because of the base seasoning, we ate the shrimp anyway (its base seasoning is so so good!!!).The roll was a white French roll, not toasted which I didn't mind at all. The All American Classic cheeseburger: He requested medium well, and the burger was cooked exactly as requested. So no worries if you prefer a medium burger. The veggies were fresh and condiments on the burger was the perfect amount. Friendly staff. The gentleman who greeted us could tell we weren't sure where to sit, pointed us for two options of seating. The young lady who helped us towards the end was friendly and attentive, but not over attentive where it makes you feel weird. When we left, everyone said goodbye! I've never had that happen and it was such a pleasant surprise! Overall: if you come thru the area (my military peeps you know you looking for an area to visit!), stop here. Great people, yummy food, and friendly people who couldn't be more welcoming. OH ! The TV we're playing spots (of course it's a pub!) but one tv was playing Wonder Woman 2. I really appreciated having something else to watch. So did my daughter.
